Chapter 72: Coril’s sudden friendliness

Upon seeing Coril lashing out at him, an extremely confused look appeared on Dave’s face as he asked, "Ancestor Coril, what did I..."

"Silence! I don’t want to hear you speak another word unless I’m telling you to speak! Understand?!"

"Ye... yes..." Although Dave was still confused, and at the same time, feeling a little wronged as he felt that Coril was actually lashing out at him for no reason, Dave still obediently responded in a low voice to what Coril had just shouted out to him.

If Coril was someone who was within the foundation establishment realm, even if Coril was Dave’s grandpa, Dave would have definitely dared to question Coril as to why he was lashing out at him despite the fact that he had done nothing wrong.

After all, within this Cultivation World, the thing that almost everyone viewed as being the most important was one’s cultivation realm and level.

The higher the cultivation realm that one possesses, the more respect one would be able to gain from others.

At the same time, it was normal to everyone that when speaking toward a family elder, especially a family elder who possessed the golden-core realm and was considered an "ancestor", one has to be extremely respectful to this specific family elder no matter what.

And if one were to be disrespectful in any way to this specific family elder... No one within the family would feel that it would be weird for the family elder to punish the disrespectful family member, even if the punishment that was ensued by the family elder onto the disrespectful family member was death.

This was why Dave was so anxious when he saw Julia being disrespectful toward Coril by doubting Coril’s words.

Perhaps, if one who wasn’t born within this Cultivation World, like Sebastian, for example...

They may feel that Dave was being overly worried for nothing.

After all, no matter what, Julia was still Coril’s great granddaughter, thus, even if Julia was indeed being slightly disrespectful toward Coril, Coril wouldn’t really be so cruel as to punish Julia for her action and even go so far as to punish Julia with death.

However, if anyone were to think that, they would soon come to learn that they were extremely wrong in their thinking.

Because of the way the Cultivation World works, where cultivation resources, aptitude, and a cultivator’s cultivation strength were the top few most important things within a cultivator’s eyes...

In Coril’s eyes, although Julia was indeed his great granddaughter, and even more, was a daughter of his favorite grandson...

But because his grandson, Leo, had already died 19 years ago, and furthermore, Julia possesses merely the aptitude of lower-quality spiritual root, and was currently merely level 4 of energy refining realm...

Coril didn’t view Julia as truly a great granddaughter of his at all, and instead, Julia was no different than an insect to him.

And perhaps, in Coril’s eyes, Julia may had been even worse than an insect.

After all, in Coril’s eyes, not only was Julia a cultivator who possessed a mere lower-quality spiritual root, which meant that she will most likely die as an energy refining realm cultivator and pretty much be of no significant help to the Lisandris Family’s growth or strength...

But since she was also still a family member of the Lisandris Family, it also meant that she will be leeching off and wasting an extremely small portion of the Lisandris Family’s cultivation resources, all the way until she dies.

There was a reason as to why Coril reacted so indifferently toward Julia and Miuna when Julia and Miuna had greeted him, despite having been made aware by Dave that both Julia and Miuna were his great granddaughters.

Thus, in the end, Dave wasn’t really being overexaggerated with his action when he saw that Julia was being disrespectful toward Coril.

Of course, had it not been for the fact that Julia was currently the wife of Sebastian, a cultivator who had awakened the special body, sperm strengthening body...

Dave’s action might have been correct and he most likely would have saved Julia’s life by doing what he had did.

But as of right now...

Immediately after Dave had responded to Coril’s angry shouting toward him... 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

Coril could be seen putting on an amicable look on his face as he walked over to Julia, then placed his right palm onto Julia’s right shoulder and began leading Julia over to the square table.

Upon arriving at the table, Coril said gently to Julia, "Come, Julia, take a seat."

And right as Julia had sat down on one of the chairs that were at the square table, Coril then looked over to Miuna and said gently as he gestured with his right hand for Miuna to come over to the table, "Miuna, you too, quit standing still there as if you are a stranger! Come over and have a seat with your great grandpa!"

Shortly after, within the cultivation room, Coril, Julia, and Miuna were currently seated down at the square table, while Dave was silently standing by the side of the table while with his head lowered.

"Julia, Miuna, here, have a cup of this tea!"

"Let me tell you, this tea was given to me personally by Bright Moon Sect’s sect master, Euna Mooncrown! Just a cup of this tea is enough to restore the fatigue of one’s spirit completely!"

After pouring the tea that he had just brewed a while ago onto two small teacups, Coril said with a smile on his face as he pushed the teacups to the front of Julia and Miuna.

However, faced with Coril’s sudden over friendliness from out of nowhere, both Julia and Miuna could be seen to be obviously feeling apprehensive and at a loss on what to do.

Meanwhile, upon seeing that Julia and Miuna were at a loss on what to do, not knowing if they should accept and drink the tea that he had just offered to them or not...

Coril immediately reassured the both of them, "Relax, the both of you, there’s no need to be feeling so nervous!"
