PERFECT REINCARNATION : Being Invincible in Another World-Chapter 42: Silvercurrent City
Merchant ships, Wide Docks and a half truth.
After being severely insulted by a Salamander or a Dragon, or let’s just say simply a shapeshifting lizard. Aurelion was too tired of the journey and the halt. The trio dozed off again. The wagon with the slaves attached back to the carriage.
"Your highness, we have arrived." Stefan announced.
"Finally." Aurelion yawned. "It took a lot more time than I thought."
Aurelion stepped out without looking outside of the window. Sally and Lyra came down too.
"What the fuck." He exclaimed.
The scenery was completely different from what Aurelion was expecting. They were in a medieval town. There were many boats docked to the side. It was a riverfront.
"Huh, weren’t we supposed to go in a workshop which was in some jungle or something? What are we doing near a river?" Aurelion was bewildered.
He turned to Stefan. "Mother said you knew the address. Did you forget the way or something?" He added.
Stefan took a pause and stared at Aurelion for a while. Then, he pondered and looked at Lyra who was standing behind him and that gave him the idea.
"It seems your highness, that you were not informed about the destination properly." He said finally. "I think, it would be better to ask Lyra for the answers you are looking for." He added and approached the slaves wagon.
"Huh, what was that?"
"What is talking about Lyra? You know something, don’t you?"
Aurelion locked his eyes dead on Lyra. Lyra tried to evade his gaze. She started panicking and hesitating to speak.
"LYRA, WHAT IS EXACTLY GOING ON HERE?" Aurelion put pressure on her.
"I tried to tell you before we departed but you were just not paying attention to it." She said with a lump in her her throat.
"So tell me now properly then." Aurelion commanded.
"Her Majesty ordered me to not tell you. She said if I told you before you will try your best to run away and come back early." She said. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
Aurelion took some time to comprehend and then responded "But we will be coming back early since we will be using teleportation gates." He took some time and calmed down.
SO, EVERYTHING IS AS SAME AS BEFORE. PHEW... HERE I THOUGHT MOM MIGHT HAVE PLOTTED SOMETHING WITH LYRA. HOW STUPID OF ME, THERE’S NO WAY SHE CAN DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT.
"Stefan" Aurelion called. "Everything is sorted now. So what’s the plan from here?" He asked.
Stefan came closer. "Your highness, this is the Silvercurrent city, a city of merchants and trade. We will be using a Class II Gate from here to reach Duke Lunaris’s Workshop." Stefan explained.
Silvercurrent City unfolded along the wide curve of the river like a living artery of trade and motion. The carriage slowed as it entered the main thoroughfare near the docks, where ships of varying sizes rested against long wooden piers reinforced with stone. Lanterns hung from tall iron posts, their warm glow reflecting in shifting streaks across the dark water below. The air carried a mixture of river mist, damp wood, and distant spices unloaded from merchant vessels.
Cargo cranes powered by mana cores lifted heavy crates with steady precision, guided by workers in Lunaris insignia. Sailors shouted directions over the noise of creaking ropes and splashing hulls, while traders moved briskly between warehouses stamped with silver crescent emblems.
"I see. Sounds good to me."
"And what about the slaves?" Aurelion asked.
"Yes, your highness. The arrangement I told you was about here itself. From here, I will send them to the nearest teleportation gate together with one of my acquaintance and he will guide them to the Royal Palace. Though it will take more time than going by road but they would still be able to reach the Capital by evening." Stefan explained.
"Nice, everything is sorted then, I guess." Aurelion said.
"NOT EVERYTHING YOU BRAT, I AM STILL COVERED IN SCAT." The dwarf shouted from behind.
"Ohh right, I forgot you existed." Aurelion turned and snapped his fingers again to clean the dwarf.
He also casted cleaning and healing magic on the two elven girls. Their dirty clothes were cleaner and bruises were healed.
"Ok, now everything is set." Aurelion said. "Let’s go now, Everyone."
Stefan went towards the other side to park the carriage which they can pick up when they return, the slaves waited with the others.
"Lyra, why are we using this specific teleportation gate though? Any special reason?" Aurelion asked.
"Though not really a specific things, but it is because Silvercurrent City is one of the five cities near the Capital which has Class II Gate which are directly under the jurisdiction of the Lunaris family.
After some time, Stefan came back after parking the carriage. Everyone was waiting for him at a bench near the riverfront, Only three were sitting though, Lyra and the two elven girls were standing behind.
"Let’s go, your highness. We shall take the market route for the ease of walking.
The market of Silvercurrent city was very different than the one Aurelion was used to seeing while traveling inside the capital. They had abundance of seafood, hardware materials and traders.
They passed by the Merchant Guild in the way towards the gate. The Merchant Guild Branch of Silvercurrent city looked more like a job posting forum than a traders guild, shipwrights, chefs, fishermen etc had posted their services there for an appropriate price. And on the other side the traders who wanted to trade raw materials were queuing.
Aurelion noticed all these things while walking past the market, finally they reach towards the central garden, the place where the teleportation portal was situated.
