Chapter 43: Arrival at Workshop

The Teleportation gate and arrival at Lunaris.

The group after crossing the market finally reached the teleportation gate situated in the central Park at the riverfront.

The teleportation gate, or the portal known by common people, used ruin stone magic to teleport people from one place to another. It was a Circular Arched 40 feet tall gate, with moon carved ruins embedded along the rim.

"Woah, this shit is dope." Aurelion said but fortunately no one heard him.

SUCH A GRAND GATE, I WAS EXPECTING A LOT SMALLER.

"Your highness, this is your first time travelling so let this Noona lead from here." Lyra acted smug but Aurelion attention focused on something completely else than her flaunting.

"NOONA? HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT WORD?" He yelled with shock.

"It means big sister, right? At least that is what Sally told me." Lyra took a pause. "Wait, does it mean something bad?" She panicked.

"Ahh... no it doesn’t. It is fine." Aurelion turned back to question Sally.

But Sally was already running towards the teleportation gate in excitement. Stefan gestured the others to follow them.

Stefan walked a little further from the group, his acquaintance, a middle aged man was waiting for him. Stefan waved at him.

"2 women and 1 man, elves and dwarf respectively." He said to the manager standing in front of the gate.

"That’ll be 2 Aurex and 30 Crowns. (2 Gold coins and 30 silvers) and twice for a return trip." He indicated the prices.

"One way, it will be. And there will be an escort with them too." Stefan said and took out 4 gold coins and gave it to the manager.

"Is that an expensive price, Lyra?" Aurelion asked Lyra curiously.

"If we go by an average monthly earnings of a commoner family it will be 20 Crowns." She waited for a bit, pondering.

"Though it seems expensive in that context but if we think about the amount of distance which can be covered in moments, it is actually cheaper."

"Considering that only magicians above 3rd Circle can be used to operate the teleportation gate." She explained.

Stefan came back after paying the sum and turned towards Aurelion. "The gate will be operating soon, your highness. If you have any orders for them, you should give them soon."

"Oh nothing like that." He turned towards the three slaves. " I will see you in the castle then."

"Hey, Stefan." He called. "How much would it cost us assuming the price is based on distance." He asked.

"You are right, your highness, the price is based on the distance but it won’t cost us a single penn since you are the Crown Prince of the Empire." Stefan explained.

Aurelion was mesmerized by the huge architecture of the teleportation gate and money was never a concern for him, not like he was going to pay either way.

He moved back to observe the gate more properly and waved at the three leaving.

Three magicians wearing cloaks and staffs in their hands gathered around the center, they chanted something. The air in the surroundings became compressed, the nearby water started rippling. The gate’s arch was now completely filled Silver - blue light, a sign that the gate has connected to the other side.

The three entered the gate, Stefan’s acquaintance followed behind. In just seconds they were out of sight. The Teleportation gate’s silver blue light diminished and it became see through again.

"Your highness, with your permission then." Stefan gestured to move forwards. The group followed, he went towards the manager again, this time chatting for a longer time.

Then, he eventually came back. The magicians asked the group to wait a further for some time, the phenomenon happened again, the gate was silver blue now. The magicians gestured to come closer and then, one of them stepped closer.

He bowed. "Greetings, your highness. Before you pass through the gate, there are some things to keep in mind."

"You might feel nauseous and for any magician, there might be a temporary period of mana disorientation. Please note that these are just temporary side effects and not anything you need to worry about." He added.

"With that, I wish you a happy journey and safe travels." He bowed again and left.

The group moved closer and Aurelion treaded slowly as passing through the door, it was as if walking through a sheet of thin paper. They walked a little further and then slowly the scenery felt like it changed.

The busy, chaotic and noisy environment at the riverfront had changed into something else. It was quiet now, silent and felt calm. Aurelion gazed around and it felt like they were in a setting of a solitary jungle.

He turned behind towards the gate. The Teleportation gate looked the same but this time it was placed on a huge stone slab covered by a patch of groves on three sides. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

"Please look there, your highness." Stefan pointed to the other side, the only being which had a path and not covered by groves.

"That is the Workshop of Duke Lunaris and our final destination for this trip." Stefan pointed to a building in the middle of those trees. Aurelion shifted his gaze and focused it on the place Stefan pointed to.

There was a tower there. A Huge one, it was round and circular, almost looked like someone held it and twisted it with there hands. It was bricked at every corner which made it look like a war fortress rather than a research facility.

"So, that is the place I see...," He paused to give a dramatic effect, "... The place where I will get my answers." He finished the sentence.

Stefan suggested to Aurelion that he should lead in terms of directions from here. Aurelion agreed to that.

Everything was looking perfect for Aurelion, that itself was the issue whenever it looked like Aurelion was gonna get through something easily, the author wouldn’t let it happen.

Author - Yeah, I like seeing him suffer. Hehe.

And it happened again, someone grabbed Aurelion’s left leg and vomited on his shoes.

"I THINK, I AM DYING CLOWN." It was Sally.
