Pestilence: Rise Of The Pure Undead-Chapter 541 : Value
After Ridfoirn, Loimos called for Prikrip, the giant, bird-like undead had never been one to wrap himself in any sort of cloth before, the crooked shape of his body, the broken skull that gave sight into what looked very much like struggling and screaming souls, the minuscule amount of feather clinging to the lower back, forming a semblance of a tail, two misshapen and atrophied wings…
The minor lord had never looked even a quarter as agile as he actually was, always carrying around this immense greatsword which he used to channel his innate ability of dustening, and that was without mentioning the other powers in his arsenal that he hadn't had the occasion to use much.
Prikrip was a real wonder of abilities unique to him in a similar fashion to Herlbe, now, to further render his movements even less predictable, the avian undead was garbed in an awfully wide and ample dark blue cloak accompanied with a hood even.
If he began moving through the air with his illogical movements now, that cloak would be swinging around and completely obstructing the view of whatever he might be doing.
"Greetings, General Loimos" he stood up on his hinds legs, sword held forward, tip against the ground as he lowered his head, hood away from his head, demonstrating that he had taken every occasions to perfect his combat style as his head seemed to be bursting with agonising remnants of souls.
Loimos asked the same question as he did to the others, the minor lords scratching the underside of his beak for a moment before responding.

"Well, I would say that those little fellas are doing rather well, I tried to encourage to do their own thing but they insist on learning sorceries and arts of my own abilities instead, the guys that I had following me around before were just regular undeads that wore helms shaped like the heads of birds and with decorations on their backs that looked liked wings, but now, there are a bunch of other birds and folks with feathers"
"I did not expect to be so much in demand, my style does not favour too many people in the same place however, I am all about speed and quick victories, so I needed to train group leaders to accommodate for that influx, and My General, let me tell you that I am not a fan of it! Theoretical teaching and having to watch over them unless they might just accidentally throw themselves off the ledge and get flattened on the ground…"
"...I swear, reminds me of when I was alive and those chippery dastards would come out of their eggs! I respect your addition of procreation to us undeads, but I am not willing to do such things when I am dead" opening and closing his beaks, causing loud clicking sounds as if to truly put exclamations where they were needed.
"There is no need to take care of undeadlings, you may just leave them to be raised and taught communally" replied Loimos, the minor lords scratching the inside of one of his hollow sockets.
"You have created a caste for this, General?"
"I did, it is led by Elenantiel"
"You truly are a visionary, Sir Loimos! I know what I'll be doing later today then" he laughed but quickly straightened.
"As for myself, it is the usual, a bit hard to find suitable opponents or areas to challenge myself, especially since one of my abilities is geared toward livings specifically, just dragging fellow undeads to fight me isn't ideal, but progress has been made nonetheless" he stated.
"Do strike me" said Loimos, and unlike Ridfoirn or many others who would have marked a small pause, Prikrip instantly swung at full force without even a shred of hesitation.
The skeleton didn't even pretend to block and just let the massive sword strike his shoulder, the dust infusing the blade and pouring out from it trying to eat away at him, to convert all that it could touch but failed to do so.
Even if the minor lord believed that he had somewhat stagnated, the quality of this strike was much ahead of what he had previously been capable of, a combination of greater understanding of the dust and improvement of his undead body from killing and being within the royal miasma, filled with potent death force.
"Your mission is of great importance and will require care" knowing that Prikrip was very capable of brute forcing through an overwhelming opponent, instead having to deal with the realm shrouded in black fog would provide a completely new challenge to both him and his troops.
Explaining the restriction of senses and the potential value of both the fog and creatures of the void, the minor lord was thrilled to be receiving such a difficult mission, it was a sign that Loimos held him in high esteem, especially considering how valuable the ressources and creatures of this realm could prove to be.
He accepted it with pleasure.
"Give me your hand" and when the time came for him to receive a gift like all of the minor lords before him, he stayed silent as something was given to him, something tangible yet that was unseen for now.
"General Loimos, I will make sure that this realm is under the empire's rule as efficiently as is possible" bowing slightly before leaping off the tower, his cloak fluttering madly through the air and miasma as he did so.
With Prikrip done, it only left for Loimos to pass on the missions for Alkayne and Ir'Houwl, the latter of the two should be arriving soon.
In the meanwhile, he turned his attention back toward Belliste, and then toward Viridis, which was much too far to even be barely perceivable.
Another project he had in mind concerning the many, many realms was the creation of yet another caste of the vanguard, the spearheads, which would be small groups dispatched to realms that whilst very restrictive to the undead, were still of minor difficulty to conquer overall.
These would be rather long to conquer despite this apparent simplicity as the spearheads would be operating in small committees, the special thing about this caste was that Loimos was planning on also using it to put a few things to rest.
He had been told about the so-called Sons Of Loimos and other undeads on the mainland that were craving to end lives, that may feel a bit left-out of the action and thought that King Nitok was too inactive on the front of spreading death.
As such, the spearheads would be composed out of those undeads instead of naturally spawned ones like the majority of the vanguard was, it would be seen as an opportunity to them, one provided by Loimos, whomst they idolised.
It was another reason why they would be put into realms of this sort instead of any others, these realms had basically nothing much of interest and were only populated by weak livings, it wouldn't be a problem for the undeads willing to throw themselves in to be unnecessarily cruel and despicable in their manners of going about the conquest.
As Loimos knew very well that not only were the outspoken mainland undeads incredible hostile to livings and viewed them as utter filth to be corrected, but also that some would be taking this occasion to engage in other unsavoury behaviours, which Loimos could not allow anywhere beyond low-value realms.
