Picking Up Fragments-Chapter 355: Douyu Carnival!
Two days later, the annual Douyin Carnival is about to start today at Wuhan's Jiangtan.
Douyin has taken over Jiangtan for three days, decorating the area to be filled with the atmosphere of Douyin livestreaming.
Everywhere, there are Douyin logos, mascots, and small activities.
This year's facilities and events seem to be even more grand than before.
Early in the morning, Jiangtan was already packed, with many tourists from other places, as locals generally don't come to Jiangtan this early.
There were not only tourists, but many livestreamers had also appeared at Jiangtan.
They held selfie sticks and used their phones to livestream the outdoor scenes of Jiangtan.
However, those who come this early are usually just small livestreamers, as big ones wouldn't be foolish enough to come this early.
Small livestreamers, on the other hand, have to come because the golden time slots have already been taken by the big ones, leaving no chance for them.
They must seize the opportunity to quickly livestream the outdoor Jiangtan scenes, hoping to catch a big streamer and maybe even follow them, thus gaining a massive amount of fans they normally wouldn't get.
Though it seems that the tourists entering don't recognize each other, true livestream fans have already come prepared.
Before coming, they've already ordered special clothes representing their idols, making it easy to recognize whose fan they are.
Among the tourists, some were wearing big, bold t-shirts with the word "骚" (provocative) printed on them, featuring a large cartoon fat character wearing glasses.
The most "provocative" part was that this fat character was holding a cigarette, but the cigarette tip was pointing toward his mouth—this was obviously PDD's signature move, reverse smoking.
This person was naturally a fan from PDD's livestream.
Some others wore shirts printed with a slim, yet humorous face, with a secret book in front of them and the phrase "套你猴子" (to trick you, monkey) on the back.
Everyone could immediately recognize this as a fan of Xu Xu Bao Bao.
There were also many other shirts from famous streamers, like Da Si Ma's "rice jar", Da An Quan's chubby face with glasses, and an anime avatar from Sao Bai.
There were even people wearing shirts from retired streamers turned hosts, like Ma La Xiang Guo, the singing pigeon King Er Ke, and the rare yet popular black material-filled Feng Ti Mo.
These were all from true fans of various streamers, or else they wouldn't have specially bought customized clothes to attend the carnival.
However, none of these colorful clothes could compare to a red t-shirt.
This red t-shirt had the word "明" (Ming) printed on the chest and a cool cartoon face on the back, holding a 98k gun.
The frequency of this red t-shirt's appearance was much higher than the other clothes, and almost every streamer who entered and filmed Jiangtan could be seen wearing it.
There were so many of them that it made it hard to focus on the other colored t-shirts.
It wasn't because the shirt was particularly good-looking, but because the person wearing it represented fans from Jiang Siming's livestream, fans of Ming Shen!
"My gosh, I've only been in Jiangtan for ten minutes, and I've already seen at least a couple hundred Ming Shen's fans, I only saw a dozen or so of PDD's shirts, this is terrifying."
One small streamer gasped in amazement...
Among the tourists, there were also people wearing clothes of Dai Dai and Tuan Tuan, and quite a few of them too.
However, up until now, no real big streamers had appeared, and the tourists could only enjoy their own time at Jiangtan.
By the afternoon, the number of visitors at Jiangtan reached a historic high, with over 300,000 people gathered.
Since this event had been held before, Wuhan's public security would always send officers to maintain order.
Douyin's annual carnival at Jiangtan benefits Wuhan a lot, promoting tourism and boosting consumption.
It's a win-win situation, and Wuhan's government certainly supports it, fearing any accidents at the venue, with safety being the top priority.
Wuhan's government didn't expect this year's carnival to be so crowded, almost twice the size of last year, so they quickly sent more police officers to manage the situation.
At 3 PM, there was a small commotion at the entrance of Jiangtan, and finally, the first big streamer appeared.
Da An Quan from Northeast China, a well-known League of Legends streamer, with a livestream style resembling a comedic show, quick-witted and a genuinely good-hearted streamer.
He has over 70,000 fans, and many people know him.
As soon as Da An Quan appeared, the tourists at the entrance got excited, calling out and greeting him.
The big quail smiled gently and waved to the people around him.
However, the commotion he caused only lasted for a while before it changed, as another big streamer arrived, Da Si Ma.
The appearance of Da Si Ma caused an even greater stir at Jiangtan.
"Da Si Ma!"
"Teacher Ma!"
"Hello, Teacher Ma!"
... This is the difference in fame; the more popular you are, the more you are welcomed at Jiangtan. This is something that cannot be faked, because the eyes of the crowd are sharp.
However, soon, an even bigger commotion arose as major streamers appeared one after another, with Xu Xu Bao Bao and PDD also appearing at Jiangtan.
The atmosphere at Jiangtan suddenly became unprecedentedly lively, with almost all the tourists following their respective streamers. Wherever the streamers went, the tourists followed.
The only ones who were scattered were the red-clad tourists, who seemed like headless flies, looking here and there, but always like a scattered group.
They could only envy the fans of others following their idols, while they still had to wait at the entrance.
"Has Ming God arrived yet?"
"Not yet, don't know how long we'll have to wait."
"No matter how long we wait, it's fine, Ming God is my favorite streamer. We're willing to wait here for three days!"
"That's right, we're real fans. If we can't wait this little time, how can we call ourselves real fans!"
"Wait, it looks like he's here!"
... Amid the discussion, Jiang Siming finally appeared at Jiangtan.
His appearance suddenly made the entrance of Jiangtan feel like a concert that had just exploded. The crowd seemed to have seen a true superstar, and the atmosphere went wild.
The dense group of red-clad fans immediately surrounded Jiang Siming, making it impossible for anyone to get through.
"Ming God, Ming God! I love you!"
"Ming God, I'm your fan~~"
"Ming God, can you sign an autograph for me?"
"Ming God, hubby~ you've finally come~"
...
Jiang Siming knew this would happen, so when Di Di and Tuan Tuan wanted to come with him, he refused.
With so many people surrounding him, it would be inconvenient for the two girls.
They now had security arranged by Zhao Xuan, so they were completely safe.
Jiang Siming, however, was in trouble. Although he also had security guards, these guards were no match for the huge crowd and couldn't get him out.
Jiang Siming smiled bitterly and said to everyone, "Okay, okay, I'll sign autographs and take photos, just don't push, one at a time."
Thus, Jiang Siming spent a torturous three hours at the entrance of Jiangtan, unable to move, continuously signing autographs and taking photos until dark.
During this time, he signed at least a few thousand autographs and took numerous photos.
