[Warning, enemy units detected]

[Open fire]

Bang bang bang!!!

The two Hellhound robots facing the street corner immediately swiveled their heavy machine guns to suppress the Hell Divers.

However, it wasn't their ordinary heavy machine guns that were most terrifying, but rather the way over a dozen robots scattered upon detecting the Divers, leaving just the two in front to suppress while the others advanced on six mechanical legs to encircle the Divers from all directions.

The mechanical legs showcased remarkable adaptability to the terrain, with many robots moving straight up 90° walls.

Even more terrifying was the astounding coordination and information integration of the Hellhound robots.

In response to their comrades' call for FPV bombing support, six Hellhound robots equipped with rotary machine guns immediately transformed into anti-aircraft turrets, setting up a defensive fire grid and spraying bullets at the incoming suicide drones.

[Air threat detected, A9-14 engage anti-air mode, A1 and A2 launch rocket barrage, breach the shield, A3-8 flank and seal the retreat, prevent enemy units from pulling back]

Boom! Boom!

Four drones were swept by the fire grid and exploded into a ball of fire in the air, while two breached the anti-air grid and collided with a Hellhound, resulting in a violent explosion that engulfed the human-sized robot in flames.

But the Hellhound emerged after the flames dissipated, with only the machine gun on its back destroyed, while its four-leg armor remained largely intact, continuing its assault on the Divers.

Each drone carried explosives equivalent to two high-explosive grenades, yet the impact on the Hellhound didn't cause any effective damage.

"What the hell is this iron crab? Did it eat gunpowder?"

The promotional department on the distant rooftop was astonished at the sight, as one FPV drone was enough to topple a Minotaur bipedal mech, yet it couldn't deal with a seemingly ordinary robot.

In their previous tactical simulations against the Netherworld Dog, the players had never encountered such strange robots, leaving them somewhat bewildered.

The Truth Department felt a pang of unease and quickly reached out to Wildman at the command center.

"Did you see these things?"

Wildman: "Yeah, not just your location; Sword Saint and the others at the front line encountered similar robots. There's something wrong with these things. The network didn't find any robots resembling these in any military industrial enterprises on the market. This can't be something Hansen conjured up; we suspect he's excavated them from an underground military tech lab."

"Not just that."

The Truth Department shook its head.

"It's impossible for just robots to have this level of reaction mechanism and tactical directive capability. The Voodoo Gang didn't help Hansen, and even the Cubans shouldn't possess such tactical acumen. There's someone else behind him, possibly a major corporation."

Wildman: "Any suggestions?"

Truth Department: "My suggestion is to capture one alive, then find a way to connect to their local network. Hackers can launch a cyber attack. If we can disable the opponent's robot army, there's no need to chew through these bones."

Wildman felt it wasn't that simple. Even the gangs specializing in hacking, like the Voodoo Gang, weren't keen on engaging with players in hacker duels now. There's no reason the opponent would leave such a big vulnerability.

"Try it first, and if it doesn't work, we'll discuss further."

The emergence of new Hellhound robots on the front lines stalled the players' offensive, their unstoppable momentum slowed by Hansen's strategic deployment and the increasing number of Hellhounds entering battle.

Just as players were considering ways to breach this unexpected defense line, a small, unnoticed change occurred in the underground Little Beidou Laboratory.

The engineering area was completely transformed into an assembly line factory, with streams of parts fed onto the line, welded and assembled by bionic arms, forming Hellhounds bit by bit, finally equipped with batteries to march off the production line into warehouses, awaiting final weapon installations.

The seemingly ordinary factory structure housed two nerve-racking large biological devices.

In large biological vats, nearly twenty brains floated in a pale yellow biotic liquid, interconnected through numerous bionic signal transmission devices, eerie and terrifying.

"Neural signal feedback is normal, all prostheses operating at 118% efficiency, truly perfect."

Zeta Technology's project leader couldn't suppress the joy on his face. Once this technology matures and hits the market, Zeta Technology's stock prices will leap upwards, and his status and wealth will rise with it. How could he not be happy?

All thanks to Horizon Corporation. Without them, this project would've stalled or failed to advance.

"You guys love messing with these creepy gadgets. It's disgusting."

Having completed her work and received her payment, Aurora sat on the sofa savoring wine, watching the ecstatic project leader with bewilderment, struggling to understand how a pile of brains could evoke such joy.

"What do you know? This is a world-changing invention! It won't be long before our wetware assembly lines expand globally, replacing those workers on the lines, cutting all unnecessary labor costs."
