Prosperous Marriage: Married to My Brother-in-law-Chapter 763 - 762: Father and Son (4)_1
Florence Ford sat beside Jimmy Horne, also quite interested in the handgun.
Originally, Florence was not allowed to enter the Main House. But once Jimmy arrived, she stood outside looking in. Jimmy casually called her in, saying she was too young for guard duty. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Although his tone carried a teasing lilt, Florence was still very happy. She could finally enter the grand Main House, and it was the young master who had allowed her to do so.
Jimmy had not yet been formally acknowledged by the Horne Family, but everyone already recognized his status as the young master. When he invited Florence into the house, Deon Myers and the others did not feel it was their place to stop her. They thought the children needed to play and required a companion. Moreover, since the Manor Head had specifically asked Florence to accompany the young master, they were happy to comply with Jimmy's wishes.
With the family owning a Toy Company, Jimmy had lost interest in toy guns.
Deon Myers brought him back from the Horne Family to the Nameless Manor. Noah Reyes had not yet returned. Jimmy was feeling bored, so Deon gave him his handgun to play with. Deon thought the young master would eventually need training, and marksmanship was part of it. Getting familiar with the gun's structure now seemed like a good idea.
"When will Mommy come? Will Mommy really come?" Jimmy slightly pushed away Florence, who had leaned in, looked up at Deon, and asked.
He was actually dubious. Mommy hated Daddy so much, would she really agree to come here for dinner?
Or was it that Daddy wanted to see him and deliberately had someone lie to Grandpa?
If that was the case, he would give Daddy negative points.
He hoped that Daddy would never lie to him.
"Don't worry, Young Master. If the Manor Head said he would bring the lady back, he definitely will." As they were speaking, the sound of an approaching car came from outside.
Noah Reyes had returned with Adele Horne.
Adele had been forcibly dragged into the car by him.
Gio Coleman, knowing that Noah Reyes was at Huayi Entertainment, had fearlessly gone there too, unabashedly wanting to ask Adele out for dinner. He hadn't expressed his feelings yet; he wanted to use this dinner as a chance to confess to Adele.
The love rival's fearlessness only fueled Noah Reyes's domineering behavior. To make matters worse, Adele—whether deliberately trying to provoke him or genuinely fond of her old classmate—had actually agreed to go to dinner with Gio. Consequently, Noah Reyes had no choice but to forcefully stuff Adele into the car and take her back.
Gio wanted to follow, but Noah Reyes harshly warned that if Gio dared to try, he would have a dozen women sexually assault him.
Gio wasn't typically afraid of threats, but Noah Reyes's was rather unorthodox, causing him to hesitate.
Having encountered Noah Reyes several times, Gio had come to understand a bit of his character and knew that Noah Reyes meant what he said. If Gio really followed, Noah Reyes would undoubtedly have a dozen women sexually assault him. Gio definitely did not want to lose his innocence, especially not in such a tragic way.
So, Gio faltered.
There was no way around it; however fearless he might be, he was ultimately no match for Noah Reyes's assertiveness.
"Noah Reyes, I want to get out of the car! Let me out! Who wants to go home with you! This isn't my home!" Adele beat on the car door in a fury. The door was locked, and she couldn't get out.
Today was the most harrowing day Adele Horne had experienced in her nearly twenty-seven years.
Never before had she felt at such a disadvantage, and she harbored indescribable feelings toward Noah Reyes—a mix of hatred and resentment, yet it seemed tinged with a trace of softening.
Because when she truly wanted to refuse, when she truly wanted to resist, she could have called her older brother; he definitely would have come to save her.
But she... hmm, didn't want her brother to confront him, for some reason she couldn't pinpoint. Probably because of Billy.
Two small figures ran out from inside the house.
The figure in the lead looked very familiar.
Adele Horne stared intently and immediately became furious, kicking the car door forcefully and cursing at Noah Reyes, who was driving the car into the Courtyard, "Damn it, you really did bring my son here!"
"Woman, he's also my son. I had someone pick him up, not kidnap him." Noah stopped the car, turned his head with a stern expression, and said, though a hint of amusement lurked deep in his eyes.
"Who says he's your son? He's my son! I carried him for ten months and gave birth to him enduring so much hardship. He's mine alone! I warn you, Noah, don't even think about fighting me for my son!"
Adele's greatest anxiety was over her beloved son, the one she relied on for everything. Hearing Noah repeatedly refer to him as "his son" made her worried.
Noah gazed at her for a moment. Was this woman pretending to be dumb or actually dumb? His target was her!
He unlocked the car and then got out.
Adele also got out as soon as he unlocked the door.
"Billy!" she cried, quickly stepping forward to embrace her son as soon as she got out of the car.
"Mummy."
Billy struggled slightly, slid out of her embrace, and then walked over to Noah. With a solemn little face, he looked up, his black eyes wide and staring fiercely at Noah, demanding, "You didn't hurt my mummy, did you?"
Noah looked down and then crouched, meeting his son eye to eye. He reached out to lightly grasp his son's shoulders, answering with certainty, "Billy, Daddy would never hurt Mummy."
Billy looked back at him intently. After a moment, he brushed Noah's large hands aside, turned, and walked back to Adele, taking her hand and heading towards the Main House, saying, "Mummy, let's go inside."
Noah remained in a squatting position, his expression growing gentler. His son hadn't refuted that he wasn't his Daddy again. Did his son believe he was his Daddy now?
Adele wanted to take her son away, but the boy was pulling her towards the house.
A pang of fear struck her. Her son's behavior seemed to show that he knew Noah was his Daddy!
Could the family have told her son the truth?
"Good day, Mrs."
Florence greeted her politely and sweetly.
Adele, who was passing by, stopped. She leaned over slightly with a gentle expression and smiled, "Little beauty, you're here too."
"Mrs., my name is Florence, Florence Ford. My daddy is Elder Aru," Florence introduced herself politely.
Everyone in the Horne Family knew her name and identity, yet they all called her 'little beauty'.
"Don't call me Mrs. I'm not a Mrs. Just call me Auntie," Adele said with a light smile.
Florence loved to hang around Adele's son. The girl was sweet and lovely, with a charming way of speaking, and Adele quite liked her.
Of course, when comparing Florence with Camila, Adele still favored Camila. After all, she had watched Camila grow up, and Camila had two charming dimples when she smiled. Adele liked Florence's dazzling smile, but she preferred Camila's genuine and natural smile even more.
Florence shook her head. She didn't dare call her Auntie.
The Manor Head would be angry.
Adele didn't press her. Jimmy, looking somewhat displeased, pulled Adele inside, seemingly unwilling to let her get too close to Florence.
