Put Away Your Divine Techniques Now!-Chapter 991 - 292: [Underground Trading Market]
Chapter 292 [Underground Trading Market] (6200)
Kneeling on the ground was Granny Yu, pressing her head low to the ground, averting her gaze from the "Granny Yu" standing before her.
In a trembling voice, she whispered, "What are you saying, master! To serve you is to serve the Ancestor! Even if I must be broken into pieces, I desire nothing more than to serve the Ancestor!"
"Enough, I’ve used your identity as much as I needed to. Starting tomorrow, you can be yourself again."
The standing figure continued with a smile, "This time, using your identity, I accomplished my task. If I receive rewards, there will certainly be benefits for you as well. Later, I’ll bestow a fortune upon you."
Upon hearing this, Granny Yu’s face immediately lit up with joy, her muscles twitching as she repeatedly kowtowed, "Thank you, master! Thank you, master!!"
"However, you did hear me conversing with someone outside just now. Tomorrow, when you return to your identity, make sure your actions and words don’t reveal anything.
Especially regarding that young man who visited earlier..."
Granny Yu kowtowed once more, "I understand! If that young man returns to the market, I will watch over him carefully. Even if it costs me my life, I will ensure his safety!"
She knocked her head on the ground multiple times until, when she looked up again, the place before her was empty, with no sign of anyone.
`
Inside a windowless dark chamber.
On a wooden platform, a gilded copper furnace burned incense, the stick longer than usual, its weak flame surrounded by a light blue smoke.
Suddenly, a breeze swept through the dark room, and the incense tip’s flame brightened!
In a mere moment, as if some force surged madly, the glow of the incense tip became dazzling!
In just a few breaths, the originally foot-long incense stick visibly burned down at an alarming rate!
Perhaps it burned too quickly, for the charred ash did not fall, instead remaining intact, retaining its original shape, standing tall within the incense burner...
Finally, the glowing incense reached its end. After flickering twice, it seemed about to extinguish.
A puff of smoke rushed from the flame, swirling in the dark room, and eventually took the shape of a person standing before the incense table.
The smoke contorted until the figure became clearer, turning into the appearance of the previous "Granny Yu."
However, it did not stop there. It continued to writhe, and under the undulating smoke, the demeanor, clothing, even the posture, began to shift.
Ultimately, standing inside the room was a young woman.
Clad in narrow-sleeved attire typical of the Ghost Race, her upper garment was short, revealing a hint of a slender waist.
Her complexion wasn’t fair but carried a healthy, sun-kissed glow like wheat, imbued with a vibrant allure. Her figure, notably curvaceous.
Her sleek hair restrained by a gold circle, reminiscent of a high ponytail. Her wrists and ankles adorned with pure gold bracelets.
In the dark chamber, her eyes, clear as the night sky, shone brilliantly.
Once forming fully in the room, she exhaled lightly, twirled twice in place, and shook herself, as if stretching had brought a smile to her face.
Though her face wasn’t conventionally beautiful, with a broad forehead and ordinary features, there was a raw, untamed quality about her. Her lowered brows and eyes glinted with the sharpness of a predator in a hunt.
After softly catching her breath, she slowly extended a hand, in her palm appeared a black jade bowl.
Setting the bowl on the incense table with both hands, it automatically filled with clear water.
Murmuring a chant, the water rippled, gradually revealing a blurred image.
From blurry to clear, once the ripples settled, an image of a figure appeared in the water.
The figure seemed to be reclining on a bed, facing away.
Based on the silhouette, it looked like a woman.
"Master!" 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
The woman immediately bowed reverently.
On the other side of the scene, the figure moved slightly, lazily gesturing.
Clearing her throat, the woman whispered, "The task is completed. Using three places as a diversion, the Demon Race hasn’t noticed my true actions. By tomorrow..."
In the image, the figure remained silent, lazily waving a hand, "Enough with these things, speak of the main matter."—The tone and voice were very indifferent.
Quickly, the woman flashed a fawning smile, "I have seen that young man, yes... Quite interesting."
The silhouette in the water finally stirred, picking up a fan to gently wave, the tone still misty, yet the words carried a hint of gravity.
"Do not be careless. In the struggle between the two clans, back and forth clashes aren’t the key; ultimately, it’s up to the ancestors of both sides to appear. All the actions below are just for seizing momentum.
Your trip to the City of No Return, the crucial task, is to oversee that child!
When the Ancestor issued directives, regarding the conflict between the two clans and our plans, the Ancestor hardly cared, listened once without further questions. Yet, the Ancestor mentioned that child twice!
