Quills: the Rise of the Northern Matriarch-Chapter 97: Strict Limits (2)
Chapter 97 - Strict Limits (2)
"I will ask him later, but why not use Monil? I can bring Van with me to the clinic. Everyone loves having him around." Janel offered. Monil had taken a break from performing. He had been working with Nora closely and knew how Nora managed her clients. There were a lot of aspiring parents on site, all waiting to ask for the percentage for their own children from Nora. A few of them were single and still looking for the right man. A lot of them were waiting for new hires that would be committed to staying in the employment of Quill Industries for life. They knew that there was a DNA screening. It was an odd selection process to them. It was a company secret as to why they would need this testing.
"I know you are both so busy with Van now. It is hard to have a new baby and only have two parents available," Nora said. Kai slightly hung his head in shame. They had five and Nora and Talan really spent the most time with them.
"Promise me that you will discuss it with him at length. I can still manage the communications and documentation from home." Nora said. Nora remembered some of what her own mother had to deal with just with her and Ivy alone. She knew being a parent, when your spouse was always away or on call, was hard. How could she ask her friends to sacrifice for them?
"Trust me, Monil is getting bored at home. He has been reviewing a lot of our traditional plays and media at home and has been too shy to present you with some ideas for these visually recorded plays that you want to offer the public. He knows plenty of interesting males and others like me that can play some of the female parts convincingly. He is really quite proud of what he has," Janel admitted. Monil had a new passion burning in him. He was proud to see the once depressed man invigorated.
"Really, he has started work on that already? We only discussed that last month?" Nora asked. She was impressed.
"This is the perfect opportunity for him to show you what he has organized," Janel said, fighting for his spouse. Monil had been working hard. As much as he loved being a performer, he was an artist that was reawakened by the hope the Quills brought their staff.
"We will have dinner then to discuss his ideas after you two seriously talk this over. I am really excited to see what Monil has come up with, and I am happy to support him. I will send you a message once we all discuss what our next steps are. Is that alright?" Nora said, relenting to the request. Janel had given up his future to work with them. If he was taken by force, he knew as much as it pained the Quills, what the result would be. She owed their family her returned loyalty.
"That is fine, he will need some time to refine and create a presentation for you. I agree that we should take the time to discuss it together, like you will be doing this afternoon." Janel said, giving her a sympathetic look. Janel loved his work as much as she loved hers. He felt awful for her having to physically take the time out to carry a child and mind what she did. They had none of the physical discomfort that came along with having a child. When they decided to have another child in the future, they would not have to consider that either.
He could work up until the minute he came out of their gestational unit. He wondered if Nora would consider it in the future. Being that she was able to split females, they would probably be able to endure artificial gestation. He could not ask her to take the risk lightly. Who knows what she would feel about losing a baby that she was expecting. Seeing her heart break again is not something that Janel wanted to see again in his lifetime. It hurt his heart. Her needing to take this rest made his heart uneasy. He would bring it up if she again talked about having children. They could set up facilities where they could see them every day. He would wait for the right time and place to have this conversation with Nora.
"Solina is interested in meeting Monil. I did not realize she was such a fan. Is it okay if she comes as well? She would like to invest." Kai interjected.
Kai had been working in the corner and had already sent off a message to his Mother and her spouses about the news. They will be coming to visit soon to see the children. Solina had become involved in Kelly's life, and in his more actively. She saw Janel with him, every visit as agreed upon. They were making a lot of progress in healing the old wounds they shared together. He learned new things, like the random care packages that he would receive from his uncles, birthday gifts and counseling were all done by his mother's hand. She received reports and pictures through her brothers. During a session, he saw pictures of himself during award ceremonies and celebrations. She had been watching from afar. She had not forgotten him, as she said.

"Oh my goodness," Solina chuckled. Solina received the report, Kai had included a recording of Kelly and a few pictures of her. She saved the recording and pictures. "My Loves! I just got a message from Kai with images of the children. Let us take a break." Solina announced. When she was finished, she opened up her interface as much as she could and opened up the recording. Kehye sat down beside him as the recording started to play. On the large screen, excited Kelly was standing holding the edge of the table. Music started playing and the eleven-month-old started to sway to the music.
"Look Grammy Lina, Kelly can dance!" Sirona said. The group watching the recording were amused watching the toddler dance.
"Look at her go, she has got your moves." Kehye called out happily. Solina started to grin. Kelly let go of the table and started walking independently on her own and started to dance. A few happy gasps escaped the group watching the toddler on the screen.
"Look at you, Kelly! You did it. Walking for the first time." Kai's surprised voice called out. Nora's surprised squeal was heard.
"Good job, Keke!" Ivy's tiny voice called out. The recording ended.
"That is so wonderful, play it again Solina, please." Kehye pleaded. Solina played the recording again with a smile on her face. "Look at her, she is so precious." Kehye said as the video played again. Solina was so proud. She wanted to send the children something, but they were not hurting for any food, treats, toys or clothing. She had an idea. She would commission special transport to be made for the Quills for their personal travel. It would look like a regular transport on the outside but be armored like military transport. It would have the ability to fend off any attacks.
'Grammy Lina can give her special great children protection.' Solina thought as she played the recording over and over again. She felt the protective Setton beast that lay dormant in her awaken as well as her youth awaken. She had received a personal message of greeting from Monil. She wanted to squeal when he included a song she was working on and that she would be the first to receive a never-before released 'Idol Card' set. Nora was brilliant at advertising.
