Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster-Chapter 20: Name and Upgrades
Chapter 20 - Name and Upgrades
"..." Rael looked at the name he was given, and he nearly shed a tear.
It's so shit... The Platinum Overlord? What am I supposed to do? Give my enemies money?
Safe to say, he wasn't happy.
On the other hand, however, the other rewards were up to par.
—Fragment of the Beast's Eye (Rare) (Soulbound)
- A fragment of the [Supreme Beast Set.] Once all fragments are collected, you shall receive the item: Core of ### (Supreme) (Soulbound).
Current Progress: 1/10 Fragments Collected.
Supreme rarity, huh? I wonder if that's the one above Divine. Would be pretty cool. Rael pondered and looked around at the weird glass-like black blob in his hands before putting it in his inventory.
Nonetheless, there were still more rewards waiting.
—Premium Override [Special-Unique]
Spend currency to cancel or steal an enemy skill.
—Premium Regeneration [Special-Unique]
Spend currency to increase MP or HP regeneration.
—Premium Dodge [Special-Unique]
Every time the user is attacked, spend currency to automatically dodge the attack.
Now this is looking interesting. Rael glanced over his options and immediately crossed out the second.
The skill's uses were good, obviously, but soon, the amount of money he'd have would allow him to buy as many potions as he wanted.
If anything, he could just buy an alchemy shop
Nonetheless, there were two options left—Skill Override and Premium Dodge.
After weighing the pros and cons of each one, Rael soon decided on the first.
Skills were expensive, even for him. However, there was one thing players had that he didn't: a starting class.
Since this game favored gacha, the players had to choose a single random blank card out of hundreds on the character creation screen.
And, of course, each class had rarities—meaning if he were to steal the skills of someone with a Legendary class, then...
"...Hahaha, yeah, they are fucked."
I kind of expected there to be more, but oh well— Rael's hum was interrupted by another system interface that sprang out of nowhere.
Finally... This is the one thing I was waiting for. He wanted to leap into the air in joy, however, he refrained.
He felt lighter now, but that was probably because he had nearly shat himself while running from the beast earlier.
Either way, it was time to take a look at his status screen—as, after all, the Skeleton Maze would not clear itself.

There weren't a bunch of changes, but the sheer amount of HP he had now was more than enough to raise his confidence.
Now then... Rael pulled out the compass and noticed it was pointing straight west.
He began walking forward; however, not even a moment later, the compass pointer twirled around, now pointing behind him.
Puzzled, he turned and looked around, seeing nothing out of the ordinary.
Is this bugged? Should I contact the developers—my ass. Rael cut himself off as he stomped on the ground, and the moment he did, he felt mush—almost as if he had stepped in shit.
However, that was not the case. Instead, the mushy stuff he stepped in was moss.
He moved his foot around, scraping at the moss until, finally, a blue light came out of the little crack.
Bingo. Rael thought with a grin and began using his hands to dig.
Finally, there was a hole big enough to fit one person, and he went inside.
As he did, he dropped a few meters until he landed on what felt like a paved stone surface, and ahead was the shining blue portal.
However, he was a bit confused.
This was a quest that was placed on the main board, meaning people saw it very often.
He had taken note of the date too, and the quest had been posted several years ago.
So why had no one come down here when the compass specifically pointed toward the portal? That was extremely suspicious.
But, of course, Rael would go in anyway—since even if he went through the portal and was hit, he wouldn't be instantly killed anymore.
Approaching the blue portal, Rael stepped through, and the moment he did, cracking sounds rang out from the bottom of his feet.
Looking down, he saw several humanoid skeletons scattered across the dark room.
The only ray of light came from the crimson sun, which he could see through the window.
I still don't understa—
"Mhm." Rael nodded to himself, letting out a defeated sigh.
That seems more like it.
