Re-Awakening: I Became a Pay To Win Boss Monster-Chapter 200: Fruitful End of The Summit
Chapter 200: Fruitful End of The Summit
He stared at the friend request for a few moments before turning to Zafira, who was staring into the air with a frown.
But upon noticing his gaze, she slowly nodded.
"Let’s accept it. It probably won’t hurt us in the long term," she said plainly. "Besides, we’ll need to get into contact with her after we’re done with the war, right?"
"Mhm." Rael nodded and swiftly accepted the friend request.
<Friend Request Accepted! New Friend: Lilith E.>
<Total Friends: 10>
He had 10 friends now, surprisingly. Though he rarely talked to any of them.
Especially the two in the Depths. I’ll have to pay them a visit soon, Rael thought with a hum and began walking again.
The moment they reached the end of the palace exit, they were greeted face to face by one of the paladins from earlier.
It was the same one who had raised his sword against Rael.
"I will be escorting you two around the city and offering protection. Do you refuse?" the paladin asked.
Zafira shook her head. "Just follow behind us. We don’t really need protection."
With those words, she walked forward, and Rael trailed close behind.
And of course, in the very back was the paladin.
However...
They seem a little different. Not really weaker, but their stance...? Rael pondered as he approached closer to Zafira and held her by the waist.
Then, he sent her a single text.
<Rael Sutekh: Don’t be alarmed, but I think that’s not one of the royal knights.>
She didn’t even flinch and continued walking cheerfully before replying. novelbuddy.cσ๓
<Zafira Sutekh: I noticed. Their posture is different, and they’re holding the sword on the wrong side. The other person was right-handed, and this one seems to be left-handed.>
Rael nodded and turned his head toward the paladin, who was still staring at their backs with an innocent, protective look.
Fuck... Burger. Are you still alive? Rael called out.
[WHO DARES—Oh, it’s you,] Burger took a deep breath. [What do you want?]
No offense, but what can you do? Your stats are low, but your element is interesting. Soulfire. Can you, like, shoot fire into their souls or something?
[You’re... stupid,] Burger muttered. [Soulfire is the fire that ignites the soul—]
Rael rolled his eyes. That’s what I just said.
Burger ignored him and continued. [It’s a certain flame that only works on the soul. It doesn’t matter how much HP one has. If their soul is destroyed, they’re dead. But it can also be a mending flame. If a soul is damaged, I can repair it, even reinforce it under the right circumstances.]
Cool. Can you destroy that guy’s soul behind me? Rael asked.
The moment he did, silence once again descended into his mind.
But it was soon broken by the paladin behind him, who accidentally stepped on a tree branch, causing a crack to resound.
Zafira huddled closer to his chest, masking her frown.
<Zafira Sutekh: He’s not even trying to hide it anymore. Let’s go into an alleyway and deal with him.>
However, he merely patted her head and sent her a text.
<Rael Sutekh: No need. I’ll have Burger deal with it.>
She tilted her head in confusion, and in the very next moment, Rael halted.
<Spirit King Burger, Herald of Forgotten Kings is asking for MP to cast a skill!>
<Skill: Soul Touch (Celestial)>
<Cost: 1B MP>
<Notice: Spirit King Burger, Herald of Forgotten Kings can’t use this skill on you, or those you care about.>
[Give me the MP, and I’ll do it,] Burger stated. [I needed a nice workout before going back to bed.]
Aha... Rael stared at the message for a few more moments, and before accepting, he decided to give him one order.
Don’t make it obvious you killed him. Or... could you maybe make him normal again? Though that’s probably not possib—
[You dare bicker with that unmade mind of yours in my presence? Do you realize that I, B-Burger, Herald of Forgotten Kings, can erase the existence of this entire continent in the blink of an eye? Of course I have no trouble doing something so simple as delaying the death of a person,] Burger said proudly.
Since that was enough bait to rile Burger up, Rael simply nodded and let Burger cast the skill.
[MP -1B 136M / 1,136B (x1 Soul Touch)]
And Burger immediately ran into the problem Rael expected.
[What a scrambled brain... It’s some sort of monster inside this human’s flesh. How vile...] Burger muttered. [I can’t bring back what doesn’t exist, but I can make sure this... thing never sees the river of reincarnation.]
I’ll leave it up to you then, Rael said with a smile and resumed walking.
It was clear that an Evangelist had managed to somehow hijack this paladin’s body. And it was even clearer that this was no coincidence.
After all... Rael had pissed off the ruler of Drivania.
So the motherfucker sent a hound on us. A strong hound at that. Guess I’ll have to pay Drivania a visit right after I’m done with Aztera.
Nonetheless, their walk continued innocently. From time to time, he noticed the paladin twitching behind him, but since he knew what was going on, he ignored it.
Finally, he arrived at the manor where he stayed earlier, and in the front, he saw Linlin, Evelyn, Aria, and of course, Qiqi.
But there was one person missing in particular.
"Where’s Dax?"
Linlin shrugged. "At a brothel, if I had to guess. You don’t have to worry about someone kidnapping him. He’s one of the strongest people in Radiant Dawn."
Rael raised a brow. "Stronger than you?"
"Mhm." She nodded slowly. "Much stronger... I’m not even the strongest in Radiant Dawn. I’m only the 4th strongest."
I see... Not much was mentioned about Dax back then, so I guess I overlooked him, Rael thought and summoned his giant black SUV.
"Anyways... get in, everyone. We’ll be leaving Dax behind. I’m sure he can walk back if he wants," Rael said with a cheeky smile and stepped inside the SUV.
The others did too, and idle chatter immediately resounded, whereas Rael focused on the road.
After all...
The moment he came back would be the official start of the war.
