Re: God of Formation.-Chapter 160: The New Era
"Have you heard?"
"Heard what? If you're going to say something, say it quickly. Why the mystery?"
Two friends looked at their third friend with curiosity. Sensing the gaze, he wore a prideful smile.
"I knew it. You're so out of date with the latest news, but as your humble friend, I'll tell you."
"Just say it!" one of them snapped.
"I heard Young Master Wu has released three complete basic introductory books on array formation. I heard there's nothing like them anywhere."
"The books have everything you need to become an array master. Importantly, they're cheap. They're only a gold coin." He explained with a smug expression.
Seeing his smug grin, one of the others clicked his tongue in disdain. "Idiot! I thought you were going to tell us the latest. Who would have guessed such outdated news?"
"Hahaha. Look at his smug expression."
The two friends laughed, mocking their third companion. Stunned, the last friend's jaw dropped, his eyes wide with disbelief.
What did he mean by outdated news?
His head swam with confusion.
"Let me tell you the latest news…" One of the two friends decided to enlighten him. His tone was infused with pride, as if he were performing a noble deed.
"I heard Young Master Wu would show everyone the power of the array formation at the Array Association Building."
"Where do you think everyone is headed? To witness the power of an array?"
"As for the basic introduction to array formation, we already know it and we're already working to obtain it."
"Aha!" The last friend gasped sharply as the realization dawned. He had thought he had the latest news, only to discover that his companions were even more up to date than he.
He recovered quickly from his shock and asked, "Do you know what the secret is?"
"Idiot! How would we know? It's not like we're Young Master Wu." The other friend teased as they increased their pace toward the Array Association Building.
On the street, people moved in twos and threes toward the building. When the news spread, it shocked Clear Wind City to its core.
When the Xun clan heard the news, they sprang into action and began making arrangements.
Even though they did not know exactly what Jun Wu planned to show, they understood it would be something important.
Inside the Array Association Building, all the elders were busy, trying to put everything in place.
Not in their wildest dreams did they imagine they would be this busy.
When Jun Wu handed them the three basic introductions to the array formation, they were stunned into silence.
To any array master, these books were rare treasures that many would not dare let others know they possessed. Yet, Jun Wu gave them out freely and asked them to make copies and spread them for everyone.
To add value to it, he priced them at one gold coin.
However, all the array masters knew the book's value had surpassed money.
An old man came down from upstairs and looked at the busy array masters and elders.
"How is it? Is everything ready?"
"President, we're almost ready but…" a man answered.
"But what?" The President's fury flickered in his eyes.
This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and they were about to squander it because of their own incompetence.
Watching the president's piercing gaze, all the elders lowered their heads in shame.
"Tell me quickly," he snapped.
This was not the time to coddle them.
"We cannot find the last material on the list," an array master responded.
"What?" The president's eyes widened in disbelief.
"Why don't you tell me?" He gnawed his teeth in anger.
"Give me the list immediately." He demanded.
Quickly, one of the array masters fetched the list and was prepared to hand it to the president when the president snatched it from his grasp.
"Get lost!" He shouted and hurried out of the association hall.
The set time was almost up, and they were still short of the materials needed for the array formation.
If this news got out, their organization would lose credibility.
Meanwhile, inside the Array Formation Arena, thousands of people had already gathered. People from all walks of life were seated, their eyes gleaming with anticipation.
In the VIP chamber, all the affluent clans in the city sat quietly. Like everyone else, their eyes burned with anticipation.
Apart from Mystic City, where Master Teacher fame had soared, the next city with the highest Master Teacher following was Clear Wind City.
And with each passing day, the Master Teacher's followers were increasing. Especially because of Jun Wu's selfless actions.
If today's demonstration succeeded again, his followers would swell into the thousands.
"Where is the city lord?" one of the clan leaders asked.
"He had something urgent to attend to and rushed out just now," another clan leader replied.
This incident puzzled them, but they kept quiet. They were here to witness what Jun Wu would reveal, not the city lord's affairs.
Just then, the door to the VIP chamber opened, and the City Lord walked in.
"City Lord, have you dealt with the urgent situation?" a middle-aged woman asked curiously.
"Ah yes, thank you for asking." He nodded and took in the scene around him with calm detachment.
Inwardly, he cursed the array association for its inefficiency. How could an association be missing a crucial material for an array formation? 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
He would have to rush back to the clan vault to search for the material. Fortunately, there was still some portion in the clan treasure vault.
"Look, Master Teacher Wu has arrived." One of the clan leaders announced, his voice filled with excitement.
Since Clear Wind City was a furnace of neural energy and power, every clan in the city chose to align with the Xun faction.
Most of them were neutral, and thus they had nothing against him.
Back at the center of the arena, Jun Wu walked calmly toward the center podium.
The audience clapped, shouted, and declared their admiration for him. Many younger generations had already chosen him as their idol.
"Hello everyone, I'm Master Teacher Wu," Jun Wu began slowly.
Listening to his words, the crowd quieted, their excitement fading into attentive stillness.
"With the blessing of heaven, our region will no longer suffer from sparse spiritual energy. Today, I'm going to show you, through the power of array formation, how everything is going to change."
Huh!
Everyone's eyes widened in disbelief. Those who hadn't grasped the gravity of Jun Wu's words turned to those around them for a hint of understanding.
In the VIP chamber, the clan leaders widened their eyes in disbelief.
"Is that what I'm thinking?" the only woman among them whispered, her voice shaking.
No one answered as their attention remained fixed on Jun Wu, who had already stepped away from the podium.
Behind him, the array president and the array master wore grave expressions. They knew they could not afford any mistakes at this stage.
Quickly, Jun Wu began directing them on how to process the materials. If he had to work alone, it might have taken a long time to complete the array formation.
But with more than five array masters assisting him, the work would go much faster.
The arena fell silent as the array masters worked diligently. Jun Wu did not stand idle; he distributed portions of the array diagram to the masters.
With the materials arranged, Jun Wu led the team in engraving the array formation.
To cover the entire arena, some audience members had to shift from their seats. Yet no one minded; they willingly vacated their spots.
Forty-five minutes later, the array formation was complete.
Returning to the podium, Jun Wu surveyed the curious crowd and smiled.
"Thank you for your patience. The formation is complete." He announced. "Now it's time to witness the power of the array formation."
Many people were already on the edge of their seats, their hearts pounding.
Without hesitation, he activated the array formation.
A faint blue light flashed through the arena, and many gasped in unison.
"So beautiful…"
But the crowd was not looking for spectacle alone; they were seeking signs of what was different about this array.
Many expected something dramatic, but some felt disappointment as nothing overtly dramatic occurred at first.
Even so, it was clear it was not time for a reaction. The peak-stage first-rated martial artist among the spectators, however, began to sense a rising spiritual energy.
"This…"
"Ah! What is happening?"
"My goodness…."
The murmurs of confusion rippled through the crowd.
Inside the VIP chamber, impatience grew as Jun Wu's voice echoed outward.
"Please step out and feel it."
The City Lord did not hesitate. He rose and moved out onto the field, his strides confident.
On arriving at the arena, he immediately sensed the surge of spiritual energy. It felt as though every cell in his body was being renewed, washed clean and invigorated.
Behind him, the clan leaders' faces showed a mix of astonishment and relief.
"Heaven!... This is extraordinary," one of them murmured.
Most of the audience had already risen to their feet, shouting and cheering. They felt their blood Qi surge, their bodies buoyed by the sudden infusion of energy.
"I believe you've all felt the difference," Jun Wu said, his tone filled with quiet pride.
Everyone nodded in unison.
"This is the future the Master Teacher will bring to the world. And this is only the beginning."
"Now, watch what happens when you add spirit stones to the array formation."
He walked to the heart of the array and placed twenty spirit stones into designated slots.
Instantly, the air within the arena shifted. A sudden, powerful spiritual presence washed over the crowd, and they felt revitalized.
"Ah! I've made a breakthrough!"
"Me too!"
"And me!"
Jun Wu lifted his hands, his voice clear. "This is the Spirit Gathering Array Formation. From today onward, cultivation will become easier for everyone."
Pah! Pah!
A solitary clap broke the breathless silence, and then another, and another, until soon the whole arena was thundering with applause.
"Master Teacher Wu!"
"Master Teacher Wu!" the crowd chanted, a rising chorus that filled the arena with warmth and hope.
