Chapter 59: Blamed (3)

Beatrix was surprised to hear Aurora’s question. But after a few seconds, a smile emerged on her lips as she leaned closer to her.

"Oh girl, there’s no choice. Do that, or you won’t graduate from this uni if you refuse to apologize..." she whispered.

Aurora was surprised to hear that Beatrix could do something like that. Now, she was becoming curious about Beatrix’s detailed profile.

Just as she was about to speak, she noticed that Josh was ready to march over to Beatrix to pull her away. Quickly, she stopped him with her glare.

Once she ensured that Josh was no longer marching toward Beatrix, she smiled at Beatrix. "Oh, you really can do that?" she said, pretending to be surprised.

Beatrix pitched her eyes at Aurora and raised her voice.

"Seriously, did you forget my last name? You can check out the ten largest donors at this university. I only need one call to make the university expel you without your diploma."

Aurora almost laughed at Beatrix’s claim. She knew very well that Adams’ family owned a medium-sized property business in the city. Even within the same sector, they were not among the top ten in the country.

’Gosh, is this girl proud of her family name? If I want, I can bankrupt their business,’ she thought, amused by Beatrix’s foolishness.

David gasped in surprise at Beatrix’s words; he couldn’t believe this girl would dare to threaten Aurora.

He gritted his teeth, stepped forward to Beatrix, and grasped her hand firmly, pulling her away from Aurora.

His eyes were sharp enough to frighten Beatrix.

Beatrix was taken aback when David grasped her hand tightly. She shot him an annoyed glare. "David, what are you doing?"

"Are you out of your mind!? How dare you threaten Aurora like that?"

"I know you have feelings for her, but please don’t get involved, David! This is my issue with Aurora. It’s her fault, and she must apologize!"

"What are you talking about? Why is it Aurora’s fault? Why does she need to apologize?" David couldn’t understand her way of thinking.

"Let go of my hand! You’re hurting me, David!" Beatrix screamed in pain. "Let go; it hurts. If you do not let me go, I will make sure you also get punished..."

David laughed upon hearing her words. He ignored her plea, his hand still tightly gripping Beatrix’s arm, annoyed that she wanted to humiliate Aurora.

"Do you really think you can do that? Your family is nothing compared to mine, Beatrix!" He expressed anger towards Beatrix before swiftly shifting his gaze to Aurora.

A smile emerged on his lips. "Aurora, you don’t need to bother her. I will take care of her. You can go now..." David spoke gently, revealing his desire to win Aurora’s heart. He planned to protect her today from Beatrix and her friends.

"David, you...!" Beatrix’s voice trailed off as she noticed how cold David’s gaze had become. She could only vent her frustration internally, but her angry gaze remained fixed on him.

Aurora was speechless when she saw David trying to help her. She didn’t need his assistance.

’Dang it, David Morrison! Can you stop interfering?’ Aurora felt frustrated. ’Should I just leave them both?’ She sighed inwardly when she noticed Beatrix looking hurt by David’s grip.

"David, just let her go. I don’t want her to start crying soon and blame you..."

Aurora’s words caught David off guard. He didn’t expect her to intervene, especially after Beatrix had publicly humiliated her.

Unlike David, Beatrix was even more irritated by Aurora’s comment. Turning to Aurora with anger, she confronted her. "Cry? Who’s crying? Why would I cry?"

Aurora raised her eyebrows slightly, feigning confusion at Beatrix’s words. "Oh my God? Shouldn’t you be thanking me, Beatrix? Why are you upset after I tried to help you?"

"I don’t need your help, bitch!" Beatrix snapped.

"Fine!" Aurora replied, turning her gaze to David with a smile. "You can continue; I’ll excuse myself..." Her sentence trailed off when she noticed Max entering the cafeteria.

"Don’t you dare leave this place, Aurora Spencer!" Beatrix roared, her voice filled with anger. She swung her hand vigorously to shake off David’s grip.

When Beatrix finally freed her hand, she turned to Aurora, her annoyance reaching a peak.

She pointed a finger at her. "Aurora, are you seriously not going to apologize? Are you choosing to drop out of this university? Fine! I’ll call..."

"What’s going on here?" Max’s voice from behind made Beatrix freeze in place.

’Max? What is he doing here?’ Beatrix wondered.

Instantly, her anger toward Aurora vanished. She gracefully tucked her hair behind her ear and turned to look at Max. A sweet smile crept onto her lips as she walked toward him.

"Oh, Max, you’re here..." Beatrix’s enchanting voice could charm other men, but Max only frowned as he looked at her, halting before him.

"This girl! This Aurora, she tried to hit me. And when I demanded an apology, she refused..." Beatrix whispered while holding Max’s hand. freeweɓnovel.cѳm

David and Josh overheard Beatrix’s effortless lie, leaving them too shocked to react.

"Pfft..." Aurora almost choked when she heard Beatrix’s words.

She couldn’t help but think, ’Oh my goodness! After my rebirth, I encountered a white lotus type of woman in real life. God, will you send a hot Alpha king my way too?’

Aurora was amused by everything that had happened recently. She slowly shook her head, listening to Beatrix, trying to gain Max’s sympathy.

Just when Aurora thought Max wouldn’t believe Beatrix, she realized she was wrong.

"Aurora, why did you do that? Are you still unable to move on from me?" Max asked.

Aurora sighed deeply, looking Max in the eyes. This was the first time she felt disappointed in him. Max had a brilliant mind—he was the second-best in the class—but he couldn’t think clearly; Beatrix too easily manipulated him.

’Maxi, how could you trust Beatrix? Shame on you!’ Aurora could only vent her frustration inwardly before responding to him.

"She is lying, Max..." Aurora smiled when she saw Max frown; he clearly didn’t believe her. She continued her words. "It’s your choice whether to believe me or her. But you need to teach your girlfriend not to lie!"
