Rebirth: I Am Not the Movie Queen This Time-Chapter 608 - 606: Whose Blossom Will Fall
Ming Wan frowned, "What do you mean?"
Chuchu said, "It’s not what I mean, it’s what Andrew means. This scumbag clearly wants to emulate his father and make you his mistress."
"Impossible!" Ming Wan shouted sharply. It was unclear whether she meant that Andrew was impossible or that it was impossible for her to be someone else’s mistress.
Seeing her reaction so intense, Chuchu felt a bit relieved; this young lady still had some dignity.
"Then we’ll leave here immediately after attending his wedding."
Ming Wan hesitated and said, "Actually, my brother said if I want to stay longer, it’s possible."
Hearing her words, Chuchu squinted and asked, "Did your brother really say that?"
"Mm." Ming Wan nodded.
Could it really be as grandpa said, that this matter wasn’t so simple? Chuchu could smell the scent of conspiracy, her whole body’s cells were excitedly clamoring, but her rational mind told her she should leave this troublesome place as soon as possible.
"You get some rest first, I’m going to sleep too," Chuchu suddenly said, then turned around and walked away.
Ming Wan could only nod, not knowing what Chuchu meant, whether they’d leave after the wedding or not. Oh well, she’d ask tomorrow, perhaps Chuchu was just too tired tonight.
A sleepless night.
The mountain air was fresh, birds were chirping outside the window, awakening Chuchu who turned over, feeling awake.
In this unfamiliar place, without Jiang Kechu by her side, not knowing if he was mad at her, she wondered if Chuanqi and Hunter missed their mom. Lazily daydreaming, she fished out a small item from under her pillow and held it before her eyes; it was the blue boutonnière she had gotten from the Crown Prince.
After freshening up, Chuchu immediately went to knock on the door next door.
Ming Wan was already up and neatly dressed, smiling as she greeted Chuchu with "Good morning."
Chuchu looked, seeing Ming Wan in an apricot-colored long dress, her soft long hair spilling over her shoulders, very graceful and charming. She took out the blue boutonnière and laughed,
"Your outfit looks nice, but it’s a bit dull. Let me pin a flower on you to add some color," she said as she moved to pin the blue flower on Ming Wan.
Ming Wan stepped back slightly, a bit awkwardly saying, "Um... I think I’m fine like this." She didn’t want the little flower in Chuchu’s hand; it didn’t match her outfit at all.
Chuchu kept smiling and insisted, "Today’s a good day; wearing this flower will bring you good luck."
In the end, Ming Wan still wore the blue boutonnière, feeling a bit strange about where it was pinned, but being gentle and amiable by nature, she didn’t want to outright refuse Chuchu’s gesture.
Downstairs, they encountered the butler Jacob, who greeted them with "Good morning" and said, "The young master is already waiting for you in the dining room."
"Good morning, did you sleep well last night?" Andrew asked them with a smile, noticing the conspicuous blue boutonnière on Ming Wan’s chest and remarking, "That’s a nice flower."
In the luxurious dining room, only the three of them sat down for breakfast. Andrew apologized to Ming Wan, "Dear, I’m sorry, I can’t accompany you today. There are some things I need to take care of."
Ming Wan was a bit disappointed but gracefully said, "It’s okay, your work is important."
Her look of a virtuous little wife made Chuchu feel uneasy, so she bluntly asked, "Is it mafia business that you have to handle?"
Immediately, the dining room turned silent, with the servants and Andrew giving Chuchu unfriendly looks.
Chuchu shrugged, innocently saying, "Can’t I ask about mafia matters? Sorry, I didn’t know."
Andrew finally smiled and said, "At home, we never discuss work matters; that’s the rule at Roz Manor."
"Oh," Chuchu replied smoothly.
After breakfast, Ming Wan saw Andrew off, with Chuchu naturally following closely.
At the door, as Ming Wan hugged Andrew goodbye, and just as they were about to part, Chuchu suddenly bounced up with a laugh, "I see you hugging all the time, so I want to experience what a hug feels like too."
Andrew was startled but still gave Chuchu a quick hug, then they parted.
Once Andrew’s car drove away, Ming Wan gazed at the surrounding lawns and trees, feeling a bit lost, and suggested, "The air here is so fresh, let’s go for a walk."
"Sure," Chuchu agreed, having the same thought.
The two of them walked slowly around, with Ming Wan cheerfully pointing out things to Chuchu.
"These markings here must be from when Andrew and his brothers used to measure their heights as kids."
"Ah, there’s a tree hole here. Andrew said he once confessed secrets to a tree hole; maybe it’s this one."
"Look, there’s a swing here. Andrew must have played on it when he was a kid," Ming Wan said eagerly eyeing the swing.
Chuchu said through gritted teeth, "Judging by the state of the ropes, it’s pretty old, at least ten years. If you get on it, the ropes will surely snap, and your clothes will get dirty."
Ming Wan said regretfully, "Then I better not try it. It wouldn’t be good to ruin the swing."
Chuchu: "..." Such a considerate girl! Only worried about ruining the swing, without a thought for the possibility of falling herself.
As Ming Wan excitedly found more and more places Andrew had mentioned, they kept stopping and going while Chuchu observed their surroundings closely, noticing many surveillance cameras. She intentionally steered Ming Wan towards more remote areas.
However, after only about forty minutes, Ming Wan was already breathing heavily and stopped, a bit embarrassed as she said, "Um, let’s rest for a bit."
Chuchu nodded, thinking to herself that with Ming Wan’s stamina, they’d definitely need a car if they really wanted to leave here.
She glanced at the distance, wondering if she should let Ming Wan rest while she took another look around alone, but was worried that something might happen to Ming Wan, so she gave up and accompanied Ming Wan to sit on a smooth large rock to catch their breath.
"It’s really beautiful here," Ming Wan said, gazing towards the direction of the castle in sincere admiration.
Chuchu said, "Have you been to your brother’s Dingling Pavilion? It’s also very beautiful."
Ming Wan smiled and nodded, keenly sensing Chuchu’s strong aversion to this place, as though she didn’t like it when she praised it. So she stopped talking.
"Ah!" Ming Wan suddenly exclaimed, making Chuchu instantly tense and ask, "What happened?"
Ming Wan frowned and said, "I lost the blue boutonnière you gave me. I don’t know where it dropped. How about we retrace our steps and look for it?"
She only realized it now! What a... slow reaction.
The blue boutonnière was now in Andrew’s jacket pocket.
