Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space-Chapter 836: Remarriage
"Mm, I definitely will."
"Dad is optimistic about you all. As long as you perform well, Master Wei will definitely teach you a lot. You can also achieve your own wishes."
"Dad, the kids in the village all envy Brother Chaoyang and Brother Dongxiang. They say it’s because of my second uncle and fourth uncle."
"Haha, Hongling. Do you think so too?"
Hongling didn’t respond, but Li Yunqiao knew he felt the same way.
"Hongling, do you think my official rank is higher than your second uncle and fourth uncle?"
"Of course."
"But Master Wei hasn’t treated you three siblings any differently from others."
"So Master Wei isn’t trying to please second uncle and fourth uncle."
"You’re still young, and many things aren’t just yes or no. Don’t dwell on these, but I can tell you, Master Wei’s character is beyond question. If you have the opportunity to learn from him, that’s a good thing."
Li Yunqiao talked a lot with his youngest son. Kids sleep a lot, and once his son fell asleep, Li Yunqiao quietly got up and went to review some documents. The divorce still affected him. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
Although Wei Kaiyun’s corn shaker was helpful to him and stabilized his current job, he couldn’t afford to relax.
Early the next morning, Li Xue got up to make breakfast, directly making pancakes, scrambled eggs with pickled vegetables, and corn grits porridge. She also made sure to cook an egg for her sister-in-law.
"Xue’er, after breakfast, take the family receipts to the supply and marketing cooperative and bring some things back for your second and fourth uncles."
"Dad, I understand."
After sending off the three who went to work, Li Xue tidied up the house again, then took out the receipts and money, and her brothers went with her to the supply and marketing cooperative.
They bought candles, toilet paper, a pound of brown sugar for each family, and also bought soy sauce and vinegar.
"Sis, we still have oil tickets, should we buy some oil?"
"Let’s buy some. I checked, and we still have oil at home. Let’s use this month’s oil tickets to buy oil for second aunt to take back."
Finally, they also bought two pounds of pastries, one packet for each family.
They went home once more to return the remaining tickets and money before heading to the station to wait for a bus.
Actually, Hongling wanted to go to the civil affairs bureau, but since his siblings didn’t mention it, he didn’t bring it up either.
Today, Liang Caifeng really tied the knot with Bi Guangming. Now she could move out of the dormitory, it was really too stifling to live there.
The dormitory was full of young girls, and there wasn’t much to say with them. Besides, they were isolating her. Living together like that was uncomfortable.
Holding the marriage certificate, Liang Caifeng felt mixed emotions. She had started a family again, and now she was going to be someone else’s stepmother.
Actually, Bi Guangming and Li Yunqiao were very different. There was no comparison in any aspect. But there was no place for her in that family anymore.
"Let’s go, I’ll help you move the luggage."
"Mm. I have a lot of stuff. We’ll have to make a few trips."
"Alright, I took a day off today anyway. Let’s go."
Liang Caifeng was familiar with Bi Guangming’s family’s situation, having visited twice. His two children were already married, and he didn’t live with his son. It would just be the two of them, which would mean fewer conflicts.
She knew that Bi Guangming married her because he valued her job, which also earned money and didn’t require him to support her.
The two of them had agreed that she would keep her salary, but their tickets would be used together.
This arrangement would do. She definitely needed to save money so that when she got old, she wouldn’t have to rely on her son and daughter for money. She didn’t have the face for that.
Li Yunqiao must know that she got married already, right?
What kind of person would he marry again?
Actually, he didn’t think highly of her, right? Having lived together for so many years, she understood him.
Forget it, she already had a husband. From now on, they would just be companions, so she wouldn’t be alone. Although Bi Guangming was five years older than her, he was healthy and could take care of her when they were old.
The two of them made several trips moving things home. It wasn’t until noon that they finished everything.
They didn’t cook lunch and instead went straight to a restaurant.
"Cai Feng, are you going to work this afternoon?"
"No, I’m going to tidy up the house. You should go to the grain station and buy some groceries; we’ll still eat at home in the mornings and evenings."
"Alright, let’s have the kids over tonight and eat together."
"Sure, buy more food. Both sons have two children each; although they’re not very old, more people makes a difference. It’s the first meal together, it shouldn’t be lacking."
After lunch, the two of them went directly to the supply and marketing cooperative. They bought eggs, and meat—all that was left were lean cuts—so they bought half a pound, along with potatoes, cabbage, radishes, and winter melon.
Liang Caifeng took everything home first, while Bi Guangming headed to the grain station.
Once home, she started tidying up. Although it was just a courtyard with three main rooms and two side rooms, it was her home now.
After putting the things down, she began to clean the house.
Compared to Li Yunqiao, Bi Guangming wasn’t very clean. Being a single man, his home wasn’t too messy, but it wasn’t tidy either.
Liang Caifeng cleaned diligently, and by the time she finished tidying the three main rooms, she was so tired she couldn’t straighten her back.
In the past, it was her daughter who did these chores. Thinking about Li Xue, Liang Caifeng felt a bit sad. Now she realized how tired her daughter must be.
Her daughter probably knew she got married too; she wondered if she was upset.
She had to set aside a dowry for her daughter when she married, definitely not like her own mom. Being a woman was truly not easy.
After resting for a while, she immediately started cleaning the side rooms. Since they wouldn’t be used by the couple, she just tidied them up a bit. Then she checked the bathroom.
She returned to the kitchen to clean it. The kitchen was the least clean.
When Bi Guangming returned, he helped her.
"I rarely cook. Even when the kids visit, they do the cooking."
"Mm, from now on, we’ll eat at home in the mornings and evenings, so the kitchen must be clean."
After taking an hour and a half, the two of them finally got the kitchen clean. The water was already hot, and they hurried to bathe.
Seeing his home completely refreshed, Bi Guangming felt very comfortable. Honestly, he had been single for five or six years without finding the right person, until he met Liang Caifeng. Even though he knew she was the vice mayor’s wife, she was divorced, so there was nothing to worry about.
He had hired someone as a matchmaker, and it had worked out.
A home with a woman was different; everything looked comfortable. This was how life should be.
Taking this opportunity, he placed the purchased grains in the kitchen, planning for the kids to come over for dinner, making it a chance for them to get acquainted.
