Rebirth in the 80's: The Daily Life of the Villain's Mom-Chapter 281: They Have No Blood Relation to You
Jiang Ran is not the original owner and has no thoughts about finding family.
If the original owner’s family is desperately looking for her, then, having taken over the original owner’s body, she ought to fulfill a responsibility on her behalf.
But if that’s the kind of family they are, then there’s no need.
Jiang Ran does not care about blood ties, much less any elusive sense of kinship.
She is straightforward and speaks her mind.
After Jiang Ran finished speaking, Jiang Zhi’s eyes widened in disbelief as he looked at Jiang Ran.
Before meeting Jiang Ran, Jiang Zhi had imagined countless reactions and words that Jiang Ran might have.
But he never expected this one.
Jiang Ran sat upright, staring directly at Jiang Zhi, without any intention of avoiding her gaze.
She would not avoid it, nor would she feel embarrassed.
The one who owed anyone anything was not her.
Jiang Zhi looked at Jiang Ran for a while before finally speaking, "You are very different from what I imagined."
Jiang Ran raised an eyebrow.
That was inevitable.
No one is ever exactly as someone else imagines them to be.
"But thinking it through, I’m not surprised at all. This is normal for you."
"Someone with such a character couldn’t possibly manage such a big business otherwise."
"Running a small food shop, a clothing closet, and having decent medical skills, such a person wouldn’t have a weak personality and certainly has her own mind."
"Jiang Ran, you are remarkable."
Jiang Ran quietly listened to Jiang Zhi speak, giving no response.
Jiang Zhi continued, "But no matter how strong a person is, they still need family."
Jiang Ran nodded noncommittally, "You’re right, but I have family. Everyone living here is my family."
"They took me in, provided for me, let me study; they are my support, my harbor."
She already had family, genuinely good family.
Even though they were not bound by blood, their relationship was unbreakable.
The relationships truly dependent on blood ties are the most fragile ones.
Jiang Ran’s words clearly dealt a blow to Jiang Zhi.
To be precise, they angered Jiang Zhi.
Jiang Zhi fixed his eyes on Jiang Ran fiercely, and seeing that Jiang Ran showed no fear, he directly shifted his gaze to Pei Huai, who stood to the side.
"Are you Jiang Ran’s husband?"
Pei Huai nodded, "Yes."
"I heard you just graduated university and haven’t been back for four years. Jiang Ran had a child and managed the business all on her own."
After speaking, Jiang Zhi stopped looking at Pei Huai and turned back to Jiang Ran, "Is this what you call family? Is this the support you mentioned? Your haven? If you relied on him, he might not even be able to save you from drowning."
Jiang Ran remained unbothered, answering calmly, "I didn’t mean him."
Pei Huai, "..."
Should he say they truly are a pair of grandfather and granddaughter?
One just stabbed him, and the other immediately followed up with another.
"He’s your husband, if you didn’t mean him, then who? Your son? He’s not even four years old."
"I was referring to my parents, and my siblings."
"They’re not blood-related to you; they’re your husband’s family."
"What’s the difference? Where have those with blood ties to me been all these years? Where are they now? Even if, except for Little Jing, no one else in this house is related to me by blood, what does it matter?"
