Reborn As A Bastard Child: Woah! I'm Super Overpowered-Chapter 31: VOID (END)
Chapter 31 - VOID (END)
(1st person POV)
'Ahhhh it hurts'
That was the first thought that came to my mind when I came around.
My disjointed limbs were slightly healed, but still I was too weak to even dream of standing up.
And my throat burned, as if on fire.
Water.
I needed water now.
My sanity seemed to hang on a loose thread, a single misstep would snap it. And my system was still nowhere to be found.
Surrendering myself to the situation, I began to move. The faint sound of water dripping in the distance seemed to be a melody to my thirsty self, and I groped my way through the darkness and cold.
....
I'm moving, I think I'm closer to the water now. Ahh maybe I'll reach it after a few hours at most.
.....
I'm still carrying on. Water is close, I can feel it.
Soon I won't be so thirsty anymore.
.....
Ahh how long has it been? The water always seems so close, as if right in front of me, but I still can't reach it. Why? Why? Why?
...
Oh God! I understand now. The water isn't really there is it? Did you all take me for a fool, thinking I will cling on false hope and burn myself out?
...
Interesting! It always feels that I'm on the verge of death from prolonged lack of water, but I still haven't hit the bucket yet.
The thirst comes in pangs and recedes so gradually that I never notice it gone.
....
Come to think of it, aren't humans supposed to die after a maximum of five days without consuming water?
From what I can gather, right now in this space, I'm in my body, not Helios'.
And it definitely has been more than five days.
Okay, maybe not outside.
But in here? Hell yeah!
So why am I not dead yet?
....
Hahaha! What a cruel trick. You're hell bent on keeping me alive, aren't you Balthy?
Punishing me for trespassing on your grave? Torturing me slowly, oh ever so slowly, waiting for life from my eyes to ebb away?
.....
You're mad at me for burning down your books, ain't ya?
Lemme tell you, I'd burn those stupid stuff even if I regress in time and get a second chance to alter my coarse of action in my second life.
.....
Hehe, you can't deter me~
Water or no water, I will not stop moving.
.
.
After what felt like an eternity, light finally eked away from my piercing gaze.
I died.
.
.
Oh no, not in reality.

In this virtual nightmare.
I finally extracted myself out of it.
By dying, quite literally!
Okay, okay, I admit my death wasn't your typical average kind of death. It was a fleeting moment, neither blissful nor painful, just the feeling of being rejected by the world and forcibly being squeezed out of existence.
Yeah I know I don't sound very sane. But that's just what I felt, and frankly speaking, I'm not good with words.
So don't blame me.
Or you do. I don't care anyways.
Or if you have a bit of grey matter inside your skull then you might blame that lazy ass author who made me tell my story myself. Disgusting!
Oh look ~ how magnanimous of me!
I gave you a total of three options to choose from!
Anyways back to the topic at hand.
I woke up, oh sorry, I was awake the entire time, uh and found myself back in Helios' body, fully equipped with the system and all.
And guess what, it had not even been a full second after I had entered that goddamn awful shithole.
The system did not notice anything amiss, except a drastic change in the surrounding after my soul's return to its vessel.
I was not in the corridor anymore.
I was somewhere else, a place not exactly unfamiliar.
