Reborn As A Ghost: Time To Build My Undead Army!-Chapter 1439: Icky Meat
-----
Arachne cut off a chunk off the giant flying Nightmaresaur meat, and started eating it, but she quickly made a disgusted face, noticing just how bad the Nightmare Beast meat was without purifying it first.
"Bleh, that was pretty icky!" She said, spitting it into the ground like nothing, and then returning to us. "The meat of Nightmare Beasts is not good for consumption I think, it tastes really bad!"
"Ah yeah, we can tell!" I laughed. "Just don’t try eating it like that, Arachne. If you want I could cook you some though. But you first need to purify the meat."
"Oh, I didn’t know that!" She nodded happily.
While this happened, Celes and Nyx came back, dragging along the corpses of the monsters they had slain, perhaps seeking approval and congratulations.
"Well done you two! And you even brought the giant things here... Do you want me to store them?" I wondered.
"Yes please!" Celes nodded.
"Could you cook it?" Nyx wondered.
"I could yes, I might do something later, I suppose..." I said. "The meat of the Nightmaresaurs also intrigues me, even more if I can imagine these monsters being actual dinosaurs from the past, wouldn’t that be pretty incredible?"
"D-Dinos from the past?" Emily wondered. "But that’s not possible... right?"
"I mean what else is possible or not in these times?" Sofia sighed. "We’re in our world, remember all the Nightmares and their weird powers? This is nothing actually."
"A-Ah, yeah, I do remember being stuck as a kid for days..." Nodded Emily. "You might not be wrong Sofia..."
"Hahah... We should fight too, if another dino appears..." Alma muttered. "I wouldn’t want to disappoint everyone by letting them do everything for us."
"But this place sure is huge, are we really exploring it?" Partner wondered. "I don’t think we’ll get enough time for that before we can get back home though..."
"With my Magic it should be possible to instantly teleport back home if necessary, actually," I stated. "So don’t worry about these things, kids, we’re fine. Oh right! Also, we could do some camping? After all we got today and the rest of the weekend, we could stay here, investigate, and hunt for more strong enemies to get stronger."
"Yeah! I’m in!" Nyx nodded. "I was tired of the city!"
"We should return every few hours to check how things are though, right?" Emeraldine asked. "Also our parents could get worried? Maybe leaving a note for them wouldn’t hurt."
"I don’t really care..." Partner shrugged.
"Me neither," Lucifer said. "However, I suppose some here might be more attached... Or annoyed by this wilderness, as they aren’t as used. You girls... are you fine with this? We could return you to the city. Maria, don’t force them to stay if they don’t want to."
"I was about to say that, actually," Jonathan nodded. "If they are tired or just want to go back, it’s fair and we should let them... this is our own thing after all."
"Hmm, yeah..." I nodded. "I guess so... Well! You girls heard them. What do you want to do?"
"Honestly I’m a little tired, I wouldn’t mind... going to sleep," Alma sighed.
"Ugh... fighting for so long is really tiring too," Emily nodded.
"I guess I also want to leave... but I would like to return here... Are you all really staying here for the weekend?!" Sofia asked.
"Yeah we are..." I nodded. "And sure, if you want to return I can help you with that. Using Shadow Teleportation, it shouldn’t be hard to bring you back to the city. Martina, you too?"
"A-Ah! Yeah... I’m tired as well," Martina nodded.
"Alright! You girls worked very hard and deserve a nice rest," I nodded. "Come with me."
I quickly went to their side and hugged all four of them into my shadows, disappearing from the spot and quickly reappearing within the shadows I left behind the academy.
FLASH!
"And here we are..."
The girls looked around amazed they were able to teleport so easily and conveniently.
"W-Wow, did you really do that, Martia?!" Sofia wondered.
"We really teleported..." Emily muttered.
"That was amazing!" Alma smiled cutely.
"Y-Yeah..." Martina could hardly believe it.
"Alright, you’re good to go right?" I asked.
"Yeah, don’t worry about us," Sofia nodded.
"Thank you for the lift back home, Maria!" Emily said.
"A-Actually, can you come pick me up again?" Alma wondered. "Um, I would like to join you in whatever you’re doing... T-To grow stronger, of course... And my grandma is back in my country, so I don’t really have much to do either way."
"Yeah! Me too please," Emily nodded.
"And me, I suppose," Sofia agreed. "My father is... well, the same as ever, so I won’t bother with him."
"I’m fine wherever Sofia goes...!" Martina agreed.
Well, alright, they were tired and all, but these girls sure got the spirit.
"Sure! At what hour do you want me to pick you up?" I wondered.
"1 PM sounds nice, right?" Alma wondered.
"Yeah!" Emily nodded. "I usually wake up pretty early to do my daily warmup."
"Hm, a fine hour," Sofia nodded.
"No problem," Martina agreed.
"Alright, all done and settled then!" I nodded happily. "See ya!"
Although I went back, I had left behind a few Shadow Phantom Clones to watch over the girls from afar, so nothing can suddenly show up to hurt them or something.
FLASH!
Once I returned down there, I was greeted by my family once more, this time without the new friends I made here going around.
"All good then?" Lucifer wondered.
"Yep, they went to rest," I nodded. "And I guess that’s fine too, they aren’t like us who are restless and tireless monster hunting machines... Haha."
"W-Well, I am a bit tired..." Emeraldine said. "Can we take a break once we reach a nice place to camp? It’s a nice and beautiful place down here. I am sure we’ll find new things here, perhaps clues to where the Nightmare Sea could be, but... even then, I’m a bit..."
