Reborn as a Rich Woman in the Eighties-Chapter 58 - It’s Him
58: Chapter 58: It’s Him
58 -58: It’s Him
“Yes!
It looks like you didn’t buy just a few!” Jiang Mingyuan looked over Lin Xia’s purchase.
“That’s right!
I wanted to pickle some vegetables!” Lin Xia explained, “Well then, big brother!
I’ll be leaving now!”
Jiang Mingyuan instructed, “Okay!
Ride slowly!”
“Okay!” Lin Xia replied and then she got on her bike.
Jiang Mingyuan watched Lin Xia ride off on her bicycle, her slender figure fading into the distance, and quietly smiled.
This girl named Lin Xia was genuinely interesting.
Usually appearing so thin and seemingly frail, who would have thought she carried a knife and dared to fight vigorously when she encountered bad guys.
Truly, appearances could be deceiving.
Lin Xia went to buy more coarse salt and chili powder before heading home.
Once home, she started washing and cutting vegetables with Lin Qiu, pickling them.
She wanted to pickle the cabbage into spicy cabbage, and after pressing it down with something, it would quickly absorb the flavors and could be eaten as pickles.
As for those small radishes and such, it would take a while for them to get salty.
Lin Xia and Lin Qiu were busy working when Lin Chun came in with a stern face.
“Big brother!
Why aren’t you at work?” Lin Xia asked, surprised.
Lin Chun pulled Lin Xia and Lin Qiu into the Western House to talk, and the three of them sat down separately.
Lin Chun asked Lin Xia, “Xiaoxia!
Are you hiding something from me?”
“Not at all!
Big brother!
Why would you ask that?” Lin Xia’s heart stirred, thinking that there seemed to be quite a few things she was keeping from her brother.
Lin Chun looked at Lin Xia with concern and reproach in his eyes, “Xiaoxia!
Why didn’t you tell me at all about the near robbery?”
“I didn’t want to worry you!” Her brother had a lot on his mind, so she didn’t want to trouble him with any bad news, “But luckily, Second Brother from Auntie Zhao’s family encountered and helped me!”
“Do you know who did it?”
“I don’t know!
Big brother!
Do you?”
Lin Chun angrily clenched his teeth, “Lin Qiang and his two wily friends!”
“If I had known earlier that Lin Qiang had people rob you, even if he was dying of illness, I wouldn’t have lifted a finger to help him!”
“But he got his karma.
No wonder he was sick and couldn’t get out of bed that night!”
Having her suspicions confirmed, Lin Xia asked, “Big brother!
How did you know?”
“Yeah, big brother!” Lin Qiu also asked.
Lin Chun began to tell them the story.
Last night, after Lin Chun had eaten meat dumplings at their place, he went home.
His stomach, not having had so much greasy food for a long time, couldn’t handle it and he began having diarrhea in the middle of the night.
Lin Chun felt so uncomfortable in the morning that he didn’t go to work.
He planned to lie in bed at home for the morning and go to the office in the afternoon if he felt better.
Otherwise, with his frequent trips to the toilet, he wouldn’t have been able to work anyway.
But since nobody had requested leave for him, he could only wait to go to work and then explain to his director.
So Lin Yu went off to school, Qian Chunli also left, leaving just him and Lin Qiang at home, one in the Eastern House and the other in the Western House.
Lin Chun lay on his bed hoping to catch some more sleep when he heard someone enter the Eastern House.
At first, he vaguely heard the voices of two men, but didn’t pay much attention.
Later, when he got up to use the toilet, he heard from the Eastern House, just as he opened the door, some commotion about coercing Lin Xia.
Lin Chun grew suspicious, didn’t close the door, and sneaked closer to the Eastern House to listen carefully.
He heard someone inside saying that it was Lin Qiang’s idea to rob Lin Xia and that now he had been beaten up, he was injured, so Lin Qiang had to take responsibility.
Even if not giving him money, they needed to buy him something nice to compensate.
Lin Qiang’s body was still not recovered, and his voice was very weak.
Lin Chun listened and only caught him saying how he didn’t have any money right now but would not treat them poorly once he recovered.
Moved with real fury, Lin Chun grabbed a firewood stick beside the stove and stormed into the Eastern House.
He stormed in through the door, startling Lin Qiang and the other two.
“Lin Qiang!
You actually sent someone to rob Lin Xia!
How could you be so cruel!” Lin Chun challenged Lin Qiang and glanced at the other two boys.
Lin Qiang’s face shifted uncomfortably.
He hadn’t expected Lin Chun to be home, let alone overhear their conversation.
But he absolutely couldn’t admit it!
“Lin Chun!
What are you doing here?
There’s no such thing!”
Dahai, sensing the direction of the wind, immediately chimed in with a carefree demeanor, “Exactly!
We don’t even know who Lin Xia is!
Why don’t you just leave, we were just chatting here, what’s it to you?”
Mangzi, seeing the firewood stick in Lin Chun’s hand, said nothing.
Lin Chun gripped the firewood stick tighter.
He really wanted to beat them up but he knew he couldn’t take on both of them alone.
At that moment, Qian Chunli pushed a cart through the gate and into the yard.
“Lin Qiang’s mom is back!” Mangzi, with sharp eyes, spotted her through the window and shouted, prompting Lin Chun to look instinctively.
“Lin Qiang, we’re leaving!” Dahai and Mangzi took the opportunity to hurriedly slip out.
Lin Chun wanted to stop them but ultimately didn’t move, clenching his fists, frustrated at his own helplessness.
Seeing his mom about to enter the room, Lin Qiang got his courage back, “Lin Chun!
What are you up to?
You want to hit me or what?”
Lin Chun, pointing at Lin Qiang, said through clenched teeth, “Lin Qiang!
I’m telling you!
If you dare plot against Lin Xia again, I’ll kill you!”
Lin Qiang was taken aback by Lin Chun’s fierce look, seeing him always as a useless, honest person.
But sometimes honest people can be really scary when they get tough!
At this moment, Qian Chunli entered the room and seeing Lin Chun in their house, still pointing a stick at her son, she shouted angrily, “Lin Chun!
What are you trying to do?”
“Ask your son!
Ask him what good deeds he has done!
He actually sent someone to rob Lin Xia!
If you don’t take care of him, just wait for him to end up behind bars!” Lin Chun said icily as he stormed out of the Eastern House!
Qian Chunli, with a stern face, quietly asked Lin Qiang, “What actually happened?”
Lin Qiang, with a stiff neck, replied, “Nothing happened!
Lin Chun is talking nonsense!”
Qian Chunli didn’t believe it; having lived with Lin Chun for years, she knew him well enough to know he wouldn’t create trouble without a reason.
“What were those two boys here for?
Lin Qiang, you better not be involved in anything illegal!”
“Nothing!
Mom!
They just came to ask me out to play, but then saw I was sick and we just chatted!” Lin Qiang argued desperately, surely he couldn’t admit he had done something wrong.
Seeing Lin Qiang adamantly deny everything, Qian Chunli, still worried about him being sick, didn’t pursue the matter further.
Lin Qiang was relieved his mother didn’t press him further, but he was more worried about something else; Mangzi and Dahai had gotten beaten up helping him, and he felt obliged to compensate them somehow.
But he didn’t have the money!
Even if he asked his mom, he could at best ask for a small sum—what could he possibly do with that?
From where could he scrape together some money?
Lin Chun returned to the Western House feeling extremely angry.
On one hand, he was angry that his sisters kept things from him and didn’t tell him;
on the other, he was angry at himself, Lin Qiang had nearly gotten Lin Xia robbed, and he had still helped him!
And if he knew how to fight, could he have beaten those two boys and Lin Qiang and knocked their teeth out just now?
The more Lin Chun thought about it, the angrier he got, and the stronger his resolve to become stronger grew.
If he went away for a few years and trained, he would surely be different upon his return.
But the thought of leaving his three sisters weighed on his mind.
If he left and something happened, what would they do?
Frustrated, Lin Chun went to the bathroom; after coming out, he rode straight to find Lin Xia and the others.
After listening, Lin Xia coldly snorted in anger, “Lin Qiang!
I had my suspicions about him before, but after hearing he was sick, and without evidence, I didn’t mention it to anyone!”
“I might not have caught his shadow, but if I had, I would’ve taken him straight to the police station!”
And she wasn’t just speaking out of turn—she really was contemplating it.
