Reborn as a Weak Earthling, I Became the Most Overpowered Mage Alive-Chapter 56: Ch : Search for the Relics
"Why is this game so stupid? If it wanted us to get a super fancy and special map, then it should have told us that. Why would it not tell us that to our faces?"
Clara complained as she kicked a tree trunk, only to feel pain erupt in her feet. She quickly came to her senses and stopped kicking.
Andrew noticed all of their reactions, so he quickly noticed Emperor’s lack of reaction at this news. It meant that he already knew about the map...
’Of course he knows. He likely played this game a few times before.’
"What is it?"
Emperor asked as he noticed Andrew staring at him, and Andrew quickly brushed off his rude question.
"You don’t look as surprised as others. Did you get the right map?"
Emperor opened his map, and it looked the same as Andrew. It confirmed that Emperor had followed the hidden quest as well.
"Hey-! Your map is different from ours. Did you follow the hidden quest or something? Would it have killed you to tell us about it?"
Clara pouted as she skipped over to check on Emperor’s map, but there was not much she could do about it.
So she just pouted as she looked at him in envy. Lilianna hid her emotions better, but she looked disappointed as well.
Emperor ignored them both and turned to look at Andrew and Seraphina.
"We will need to retrieve a few key artefacts from these hidden dungeons before we go and gather more support from other nobles. I am sure a few other bastards must have figured it out by now. We should not waste any more time."
Andrew nodded at his words.
"Let’s form two teams. I will take Seraphina and Clara. You take Lilianna with you and take the right-side dungeons."
Both Clara and Emperor looked like they had swallowed a lemon.
Emperor’s glare towards Seraphina told Andrew that he would rather prefer it if he was allowed to keep an eye on Seraphina. But Andrew had a feeling that someone might die if he allowed that to happen.
"Tsk, let’s get this over with."
Lilianna looked between Andrew and Emperor, her desire to stay with him evident on her face. But in the end, she only sighed and followed Emperor.
"Sooo, now that Emperor is gone, can you tell me more? I mean, it’s kind of obvious that you both know each other. But I want to know how that happened? Wait-! Were the alien sightings on Earth actually real? Were they trying to gauge out if Earth was a good place to hold these games or something...?" 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
Clara asked with too much enthusiasm and cheer. She was almost bouncing in place when she asked this question.
Seraphian had no intention of answering her and letting her calm down on her own, but Andrew knew Clara the best. Giving her a vague answer was the best way to make her focus.
"If I say that we knew each other in another life, will that help you feel better?"
Andrew asked, and Clara pouted.
"That is such a cheap answer. Do you really think such a thing exists... no wait-! Regression exists, and so do these games... Alright, I believe you."
Clara was a simple existence. She did not bother thinking more than it was required, and as long as she was not in danger, she did not ask any more questions as well.
In many senses, she was the perfect partner for anyone to have during such times.
"Anyway, I know it might be a little late, but welcome to the group, Seraphina. I hope you make good memories with us and live a long time. I personally plan to live a long and fulfilling life."
Clara declared and jumped forward to tug Seraphina’s hand into a handshake.
Her sudden action took Seraphian by surprise, but she was not able to pull back or do anything when faced with Clara’s enthusiasm.
Andrew watched with an amused face as he saw the reserved Seraphina interact with someone so out of her depth.
But there was only so much time they could waste, so he decided to put an end to this interaction.
"Alright, this is enough. Let’s get back on track now. We are near the dungeon, so be careful."
Andrew reminded the pair, and they quickly became alerted. The air around them shifted as well to become a little more tense, and the small temple came into notice.
Four guards were standing in front of the temple, guarding it. It would be a little difficult for them to sneak in like this...
"We will need to distract the guards. Clara, would you like to try?"
Andrew asked, and Clara nodded.
"Sure. Give me a second..."
Clara told him before she contracted. Since there were a lot of plants around, it was easy for her to use them to make a lot of loud noises.
"W-What was that-?"
"Are we under attack? Tsk, we will need to head out and check it."
The guards looked startled and quickly turned around to look at where the noise had come from. It gave Andrew the right opportunity to take advantage of.
He carefully controlled the output of his magic just enough to knock the guards down when they were not looking. The guards were caught off-guard, and Seraphina ended up in charge of clean-up.
"Alright, we are done here. Hmm, but wasn’t it too easy? It was as if these guards were not worried about getting attacked at all."
Clara complained as she followed Andrew out. She looked at the small temple in front of her, but before she reached for it, it started to glow red, causing her to pull her hand back.
"I... that was not me. I am not the one who did this..."
Clara clarified quickly, her back feeling a little tense as she looked at the glowing temple. Seraphine quickly noticed the danger, and she’d frightened Clara back. Andrew immediately threw up a barrier in front of them before a large claw could collide with them.
The temple, which had been normal until now, suddenly had a huge paw coming out of it. But that claw was not the only thing that came out of the temple.
A body was connected with that claw that tried to come out as well.
"W-What is that? Ugh, I am not good with ghost stuff... Whah-! I-I don’t think I am ready to face a ghost yet..."
Clara declared with a pale face. She was shaking badly as she tried to hide her bigger body behind Seraphina’s back.
