Reborn Young Miss: Phoenix Burning Red-Chapter 445: Start Anew (1)
"I believed you’d already improved our lives, Addie. You saved your mother and Myrtle. You were also reunited with your older brother. I also met you in this lifetime, and you became my wife." As he said this, Lennox took one of her hands and kissed her knuckles. "We can’t change what happened in the past, Addie, but we can learn from it. You are not alone in this anymore."
His words began to chip away at Adrienne’s guilt, allowing a glimmer of hope to seep into her heart. She realized that Lennox had always been her rock, her anchor in the storm. With his unwavering support and love, she felt a flicker of strength ignite within her.
"I’m scared, Len," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. "I’m scared that history will repeat itself, and I’ll lose you again."
Lennox wiped away her tears gently, his gaze filled with determination and love.
"I won’t let that happen, Adrienne," he said firmly. "We may carry the weight of our past lives, but we also have the power to change our future. Together, we can rewrite our story and create a new ending—one filled with love, happiness, and healing."
Adrienne nodded, finding solace in his words. She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. Lennox was right—she couldn’t let the ghosts of her past consume her present. She had been given a second chance and would make the most of it.
"You’re right," she whispered, a newfound determination shining in her eyes. "We have a second chance, Len. And this time, we shouldn’t let fear or guilt hold us back."
Lennox nodded, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips. He kissed her forehead gently, relieved that his wife had returned to him after grueling days of waiting.
"You gave us a good scare, Addie. I thought we’d lose you forever." It was Lennox’s turn to confess his worries.
Adrienne blinked and tried to remember her last memory before she fell into a deep slumber. Her face turned cold as he remembered how her father attacked her and Irina and how Lennox begged her in tears for her to stay with him.
Adrienne didn’t doubt that the incident had traumatized her husband and their family. Even now, she could sense Lennox trying to assure himself she was safe. She couldn’t help but feel guilty for subjecting her family to unnecessary pain.
"What happened to Irina? Is she alright?" She questioned, remembering that her father had not only attacked her but also Irina.
"She was in critical condition when we found you. She lost too much blood, but Irina managed to pull through and survive. She’s on medical leave now and still recovering." Lennox assured her.
Adrienne released a breath she didn’t know she was holding, feeling relieved that Irina also managed to survive the ordeal.
"Your surgery went well too, Addie, but you didn’t wake up for a week after the attack incident, but when you did, you were hysterical and couldn’t recognize anyone." Lennox informed her, "Addie, you acted like you were a completely different person, but..."
"But what?" Adrienne probed, wanting to know why Lennox had such a confused expression.
"You said things that didn’t make sense to others but to me. You call Alistair Han your husband. You also mistook Noah for Dylan. You were crying, begging not to be punished. Seeing you like that, I wonder if the one who returned to us back then was Adrienne from your past. You won’t let anyone near you except for your mom and Noah. You’ll immediately turn hysterical whenever I try to talk to you or hold you."
Adrienne looked at him in disbelief.
"I’m sorry, Len. I didn’t know... I have no idea I would do such a thing to you."
Lennox shook his head.
"No, Addie. It’s not your fault, but seeing you like that made me realize many things. I didn’t doubt you when you told me of your past, but I would have never thought it was ’that’ bad. The Adrienne that I saw was so broken and hopeless. She couldn’t see any light at the end of the tunnel, trapped in the darkness of her past. It was as if she had regressed into the pain and suffering she had endured in her previous life. It was heartbreaking to witness, but it made me realize how strong you are, Addie."
Lennox reached out and gently cupped Adrienne’s face, his touch warm and reassuring. "Addie, I need you to understand it wasn’t your fault. You were a victim, just like you are now." His voice was filled with compassion as he spoke, trying to ease her guilt.
Once more, Adrienne’s eyes began to well up with tears as a result of Lennox’s compassion and unwavering support. Despite the pain and confusion she had endured, he still saw her strength and resilience.
"Len," she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion. "I don’t know how to thank you for staying by my side through all of this. You’ve shown me what true love really means."
Lennox gently wiped away her tears, his touch offering a sense of comfort and reassurance.
"Addie, I vowed to love you in every lifetime. And that includes supporting you through your darkest moments. I’m your husband, so allow me to lessen the burdens in your heart. You were deeply hurt and left alone, but not this time. You have me now, Addie."
Adrienne nodded, feeling a renewed sense of determination stirring within her. She knew it wouldn’t be easy to overcome the trauma of her past life, but with Lennox by her side, she believed they could conquer anything.
"I’m ready to face my demons," she said softly, her voice filled with a quiet resolve. "I want to heal and move forward. I don’t want those memories to define me anymore."
Lennox smiled at her, his eyes shining with pride and admiration. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"That’s my brave girl," he whispered, kissing gently against her forehead. "We’ll take it one step at a time, Addie. And if there are days when it feels too overwhelming, we’ll lean on each other for support."
Adrienne leaned into his touch, feeling a warmth spread through her being.
"Then stay with me, Len. Promise me you won’t go."
