Reborn Young Miss: Phoenix Burning Red-Chapter 477: Fallen to Death (1)
"Do you think you can win against me?" Alistair scoffed. "I failed to see why Adrienne would choose someone weak like you."
"Keep my wife’s name out of your filthy mouth!" Lennox hissed at him.
With his right eye swollen, it was hard for Lennox to keep his focus. But he was determined to prove Alistair wrong. He knew he was at a disadvantage, but it didn’t dissuade him from protecting Adrienne from this man.
Lennox knew he only had one chance to confront Alistair, and he could not allow this man to escape without facing the consequences of his actions. Lennox was prepared to do whatever it took because he knew that if Alistair managed to escape, he would continue to pose a threat to Adrienne’s safety and well-being.
"Adrienne would regret choosing you after I’m done with you." Alistair grinned. "You shouldn’t have gotten between Adrienne and me, Lennox Qin. You have no idea how long I’ve waited to punish you for taking her away from me."
"She’s not yours." Lennox insisted. "She was never yours."
Alistair lunged for Lennox again, this time faster than before. Lennox braced for impact, ready to defend himself, but he couldn’t stop the ringing in his ears from the previous blow as Alistair’s fist connected with his jaw. All his earlier plans flew out of the window, and Lennox could only rely on his instincts as he tried to match Alistair’s relentless punches.
He managed to create a distance between them and landed a fist on Alistair’s stomach, causing him to double over in pain. Lennox knew Alistair was stronger than him in terms of physical power, but he refused to back down. He relied on his instincts, though he could hear Adrienne’s voice at the back of his mind begging him to stop.
But how could he stop?
Alistair Han represented everything Lennox despised: privilege, arrogance, and entitlement. He couldn’t imagine the pain Adrienne had gone through in her previous life because of this man.
Whenever he remembered how Adrienne was plagued with nightmares from her past, Lennox felt a burning rage ignite within him. He wanted his wife to be free from the shackles of her past. He wanted her to lead a life without worrying about the demons that haunted her in her sleep.
Alistair swung again, but Lennox was ready. He quickly dove under the swing and countered with a swift uppercut, catching Alistair off guard. The blow landed square on his jaw, sending him stumbling backward. Lennox’s determination to protect Adrienne fueled his every move, pushing him to fight with a strength he didn’t know he possessed.
Lennox tried to keep the distance between them, but it was useless. Alistair became enraged and driven by a desire to reclaim what he believed to be rightfully his. He lunged at Lennox with unparalleled ferocity, landing a punch that sent Lennox reeling.
Lennox knew he couldn’t allow Alistair to gain the upper hand as he struggled to regain his balance. He had to protect Adrienne from this dangerous man who had haunted her for so long. With renewed determination, Lennox dug deep and unleashed the fury that burned within him, meeting Alistair’s every attack with his own counter. He endured the pain emanating from his injuries, refusing to let it weaken his resolve.
They exchanged blow after brutal blow, their bodies colliding with a force that left the air around them trembling. The fight was brutal and unforgiving, with wills and strength testing their limits. But at the heart of it all, one burning conviction fueled Lennox’s every move - he would do whatever it took to keep Adrienne safe from the darkness that had followed her for so long.
Lennox was sent flying as the double doors leading to the balcony shattered beneath the force of Alistair’s violent punch, sending splinters of wood and shards of glass flying in every direction. The two men tumbled onto the balcony, their bodies entwined in a brutal struggle as they fought for dominance.
But something within Lennox snapped as the darkness threatened to consume them both. The fury coursing through his veins overtook him, and with a primal scream, he twisted his body to the side, managing to break free from Alistair’s grip.
He dragged himself to his feet, and his face contorted with rage as he glared at Alistair, who was also back on his feet, wiping the blood on the corner of his mouth with the back of his hand. It was clear neither of them were willing to accept defeat. Adrenaline surged through Lennox’s veins as he and Alistair circled each other, their eyes locked in a fierce battle of wills.
The two men charged at each other once more, their bodies colliding with a thunderous force. Lennox’s injuries started catching up with him, but his determination to protect Adrienne fueled his every move. They clashed and grappled, their punches and kicks raining down with deadly accuracy. It didn’t take long, and Lennox found himself cornered against the railing of the balcony. Alistair wound up with a punch that Lennox knew would be the end of him if he didn’t do something swiftly.
But Alistair miscalculated his move. Lennox managed to avoid his punch, and he found himself teetering on the balcony’s edge, his hand trying to grab Lennox with him as he tried to regain his balance but failed. His eyes widened in shock as time seemed to slow down for him and Lennox. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Lennox instinctively held onto the railing as he watched Alistair’s entire body lurching forward towards the edge, caught in an endless dance between life and death. His heart pounded in his chest, the echoes of Adrienne’s voice filling his ears as he knew this was his only chance. It wasn’t too late for him to help and save Alistair from falling to his death, but he wasn’t willing. With all his strength, Lennox pushed Alistair away from him, sending him spiraling over the edge of the balcony.
In just a blink of an eye, Alistair plummeted down the balcony, his body twisting and turning as it fell, while Lennox watched with his breath held, waiting for the sickening thud of his opponent’s body hitting the ground. He could hear Adrienne’s voice in his head, urging him on, and he knew that his actions would have consequences. But he also knew that he had to protect her, to keep her safe from the threats that lingered in their lives, even if it meant killing the person who had just fallen from the balcony.
As Alistair’s body crashed onto the pavement below, Lennox felt relief and guilt wash over him. He knew this act would change everything, but he was willing to face the consequences for Adrienne’s safety.
