Regression - Second Chance At Life-Chapter 279: Caught In Camera

Adam put the things he had bought aside and lay down on his bed to get some shut-eye.

After all, today’s events were more chaotic than the other.

He made Isla his girlfriend. Walked into the mall to do some shopping, only to end up saving a girl from a parasocial lunatic’s attack. He then met Loria, who turned out to be quite a character.

And then he got to meet Gloria again; he thought he would never see her again after such a long silence from her. Adam really didn’t care if she called or not because he already has a ton of other girls who are begging for his attention, but he did get curious about her, as no woman has been able to forget him once he was done with them.

And he was right, the moment Gloria looked at him, she threw away her entire married life just to be with him.

Then he had to spend hours inside the gym learning new things.

After such an intense day, he deserves some shut-eye. But having a superior body, he really didn’t need that much rest.

Thirty minutes later, he opened his eyes to find himself completely refreshed.

Feeling energetic again, Adam sighs and looks at the time; it’s 3 PM.

That is when his eyes fell on the corner of his room, where he had kept the hidden camera, to see if he could catch Julia doing something fishy in his room.

He rolls out of the bed and walks up to the corner and reaches out for the camera that he had strategically placed behind his fake plant, making sure that it got the widest coverage of his room possible.

Grabbing the camera, he walks up to his computer with it and plugs it in to see what he has caught.

He finds the video and plays it. For the first few minutes, there is nothing, so he begins skipping through by pointing the cursor at different time stamps, when suddenly Julia’s image flashes on the screen.

’Got you...’ Adam thinks, grinning, and goes back a few minutes to watch Julia sneakily enter his room and begin searching his room. It doesn’t take long before she starts throwing his things around in frustration, clearly from her own inability to find the thing she is looking for.

But then she finally stumbles upon his hidden locker, which she believes is hiding the thing she is looking for, as it’s the only place she has not searched.

Adam can’t contain his grin as he could use this footage to mess with Julia and see what kind of reaction he would get out of her.

He watches the video as Julia struggles to guess his locker’s passcode. He sees her pacing around his room, trying to find a combination of numbers that might fit the code, but this is no escape room or a detective game where you will find passcodes written on paper.

Seeing the frustration on Julia’s face build up with every wrong guess of his makes Adam’s smile grow wider.

He expected this to happen; after all, he didn’t bother hiding the papers from her. She saw him carry that file up with him to his room, and she heard Jack and Adam talk about it right before her in vague terms.

A woman like Julia was bound to be curious regarding such things.

’No matter how many combinations you try, you will never figure out my passcode,’ Adam thinks, because his passcode is special only to him. It’s not his birthday, it’s not his mother’s birthday, or any other special occasion day that involves him.

It’s the day of his regression. And who other than Adam would have any idea about it?

Adam continues to watch as Julia finally loses it and storms out of his room, making him laugh. But to his surprise, a few minutes later, she returns and begins fixing the mess she made in his room.

She clearly didn’t want anyone to know that she was here, trying to dig into Adam’s personal things. Little did she know that she was being recorded the whole time.

"Now... What should I do with this?" Adam thought.

Unlike the other things that he has on Julia, this one is not that serious, but it’s still something that will allow him to mess with Julia and break her defenses even more.

Knowing he won’t have much leverage with this video, Adam just decides to taunt her with her, maybe scare her a little, because with how Julia’s behaving around him, even a simple provocation from him is enough to send her over the edge.

The more unhinged she gets, the easier it will become for Adam.

Some might think Adam’s going too far with this, but he doesn’t care what others would think. This woman made him suffer for more than half of his life. What he is doing to her is justifiable in his own eyes, and he doesn’t care about what others think.

Adam’s thought process might be radical, but then again, he is not hurting an innocent person. Julia’s a cold-hearted bitch who wouldn’t hesitate to push someone over a cliff if it meant that she could benefit from it.

He is just giving Julia a taste of her own medicine.

Adam continues to skip forward to see if there is anything else, and to his surprise, he does find something.

Xu Lin.

He is not surprised to see Xu Lin enter his room, as it’s her job to keep things clean around the mansion, and that includes Adam’s room.

What surprised him was her actions.

He saw Xu Lin lock the door from inside before seeing her enter his bathroom. After some time, she came out with something in her hand, his used underwear.

He then saw her lie down on his bed, spread her legs wide apart, hold his underwear against her nose, sniff it, and begin touching herself.

Moaning his name, begging him to fuck her harder and use her as he pleases.

Seeing this, Adam realizes that he has turned his innocent Xu Lin into a hyper-sexualized pervert who dreams nothing but of him and his cock.

Adam puts the thought aside and saves the video on his computer, unplugs the camera, and puts it back in the same spot it was before, turning it into his personal surveillance camera to see what else happens in his room when he is not around.

"Now... I wait," He says, waiting for Julia to get back. Until then, he decides to catch up on his investments.

The boys, Tyler and Bobby, are doing an amazing job with the app and the website, which is almost complete. Soon, they will have a working prototype, which will get more refined before launch.

But she alone might not be able to influence a lot of people into using the app; for that, Adam needs to do a little networking with the social media influencers of this city, because they are the people whom people listen to.

That just shows how stupid a society collectively is, willing to listen to idiots on the internet, and it’s people like Adam who know how to exploit it.

Adam’s not worried about networking because most of these social media influencers are fickle people; all they care about is money and fame. Sure, there are a few out there who are good, but Adam doesn’t want to do business with them because they can’t be exploited.

Done checking up on the app’s progress.

Adam decides to invest in other things.

The one he has in his mind right now is AI. Yes. That one technology people will come to despise in the future, but will soon get used to it because it just makes people’s lives too convenient.

And when you give people something that makes them lazier, they just accept it with open arms.

AI is still at its earliest development right now, the perfect time for Adam to dip his toes in and wait for it to take over the world.
