Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 228: Do You Have To Go
After confirming that he was indeed sensing Conquering Essence from the direction of Paradise Beach, Kael reclined until his back rested on the elevated side of the cushion.
He was relaxed, since he had sensed it, he would find it, there was no use rushing over something that would eventually fall into his hands.
"Chloe, alert me when we arrive, I want to meditate," Kael said as he closed his eyes.
"Okay," Chloe said, shaking her wings as she glanced at Kael and then back at the screens.
Kael took in a deep breath before breathing out again, he continued this for a while before stopping.
Within his mind space, he appeared in that memory vault of his again.
Once again, he stood before the semi-transparent figures of the eight previous Primordial Lions.
Alan, Bethel, Ishat, the nameless cub, Silax, Jin, Derylia, and Noel.
Kael thought hard about which memory he should look into.
To him, Bethel's memories were very interesting. Besides the second Primordial Lion's untamed libido, there had to be more to him that added to his uniqueness.
After all, this was a lion who was born at a time when the lions were just starting out, his experience would have some value.
But after giving it some thought, Kael decided to look into the memories of someone else.
Derylia, the most controversial Primordial Lioness to have existed.
"What exactly did you do?..." Kael muttered to himself as he focused his gaze on Derylia's figure.
She was the only Primordial here whose image was that of her in her humanoid form, it felt somewhat disturbing.
Gradually, Kael found his consciousness being sucked into her shimmering figure before everything went dark again.

"Mother, where are you going!"
"Mommy, please, don't leave me here!"
"Mum?"
The sobs and pleading of the little child filled the vicinity.
On the balcony of a floating castle, Derylia stood straight with a strong back as she faced the enigma in front of her.
Beside her and holding her hand was a little humanoid boy. The boy was very little, barely tall enough to reach her waist.
Derylia frowned, she held back the tears that wanted to flow out of her eyes, she couldn't let her son see her weak, not at this time.
She turned her head to the side, looking down at the boy who had tears streaming down his face.
The boy and Derylia shared similar features, the eyes, nose, lip, his jaw, head shape, and forehead were inherited from his father, however.
Derylia had long wavy golden hair, and piercing golden eyes that looked as fierce as they were gentle.
The boy on the other hand had deep black short hair and dazzling grey eyes that brought out the clear outline of those black serpentine slit pupils he had.
Growing out from the sides of his head was a pair of black horns, they seemed to be curling their way up as he grew older.
Next to those horns were small lion ears. These ears were covered in tiny patterned black scales with some fur growing on top of them.
Behind the boy, attached to his waist was a short black scaled tail with a tuft of fur at the very end.
Although his eyes were somewhat beautiful and at the same time frightening, his look was innocent. One could tell that this boy had yet to experience much about life.
"Don't worry, I'll be back soon, dear," Derylia said with a melancholic smile.
"But I don't want you to go!" The little boy demanded. This was not the first time his mother had left them, and she had always returned.
But today, he had an ominous feeling that he couldn't explain.
His mother had been called back to have a meeting with the lion leaders of their civilization. The little boy had no qualms against the lions, he shared blood with them after all.
He was still naive and couldn't decipher the disdainful looks those lion kings grew his way anytime they saw him.
"I have to, Ibadon, I have to go, you won't understand.
Okay, once I come back, you and I will play some more and I'll teach you how to use your powers better," Derylia said with a false cheerful smile, trying to seem positive.
"Do you really need to go? You can just stay with me," The boy pulled on his mother's hand and said.
"Yes Ibadon, I have some duties to attend to," Derylia said.
In front of the gigantic balcony, the enigmatic powers converged to form a portal of some sort. This was not a spatial portal, rather it was multicolored and had the aura of heavenly entities oozing off of it.
"You know the boy is right," A telepathic voice entered Derylia's mind, causing her to turn around slightly to see an old woman standing by the large doors of the balcony.
The woman wore a wide gown with an oversized sleeve that hid her hands from the world. On her graying hair were two horns, similar to the ones in Ibadon's head.
"Mother-in-law, please watch over Ibadon for me," Derylia asked with careful politeness.
The elderly woman glanced indifferently at the little boy, hiding the warmth she felt at the back of her mind.
"I don't understand why you have to go. You know, if my son was here, he wouldn't approve of this." The elder woman said with a frown.
"Yes, but he has lost himself in trying to evolve to the next tier. I don't want to disturb him." Derylia responded with a frown.
"He's trying to get stronger so that he can protect you two, don't be so insolent!" The elderly woman's nose flared as she raised her voice at Derylia.
Derylia sighed, not taking offense. She knew that this mother-in-law of hers was just anxious and also susceptible to the terrible temper of the dragons.
"Every time you go back to the lions, your chances of coming back diminish, I can feel it, you can feel it, your son can feel it.
No one in that heaven likes you, they only put up with you because of your status, not because they want you to be with them,"
The mother-in-law said, breathing in and out to calm her rising emotions.
"When the lions stood against you and my son for attempting to be together, I was one of the dragons that stood with the both of you.
When the lions discovered you carried an anomaly in your womb, they pressed for you to instantly terminate, saying that it could jeopardize the civilizations.
The dragons supported you and shielded you from the prying eyes of those tyrants, they gave you a safe space to raise your child.
Now, they call and you run back to help them? How naive could you be? Do you think they'll just forgive you for all you've done?
To them, you have tarnished their image and put their whole civilization on shaky grounds, the Fortune Lions claim to sense massive misfortune coming from you whenever you are near them.
True or not, the lions clearly see you as an unstable element.
If you were strong enough to fight against them, I wouldn't say anything. But you've spent so much time trying to be with my son that you've neglected your evolution and your strength has stalled.
You have absolutely no leverage against the lion kings other than your status and the enhancement you give them, enhancements that they are learning to do without now.
Why must you put yourself in harm's way, what point are you trying to prove?"
As the elderly dragon woman spoke, she tried her best to control her temper but she still found herself raising her voice at her daughter-in-law.
"I'm not trying to make any point, I'm simply making sure that I fulfill my duty," Derylia said as she squeezed Ibadon's little hand.
Ibadon's childish voice was lost to the two women as they exchanged telepathic words with each other.
"Stupid! How can you be so stupid, who says you must fulfill your duty? You are needed there because they have no choice but to need you, we want you here because we genuinely like you here!"
Derylia shook her head, she felt that the elderly woman wouldn't understand her situation.
Her relationship with the Dragon Prince, Sakan, the son of the current Primordial Dragon at this time, had left some after-effects between the two races.
Before, dragons and lions tried their best to stay away from each other's path, knowing fully well of the dragon's temperamental traits and the lion's dominating ideologies.
But with Derylia now interacting with the dragons, even going so far as to have an anomaly child with one of them, the dragons and the lions have been coming in contact with each other more often than necessary.
And as expected, these contacts tended to end with hostile insults being thrown at each other.
As the cause of the rising tension between the two races, Derylia felt obligated to meditate and see if she could bring an end to it.
She even envisioned the dragons and lions working together as allies, something she would learn very soon was never going to happen.
It was almost as if she had thrown away the lion's culture and teachings after falling in love.
Derylia let go of Ibadon's small hand and stepped forward a couple of steps. She ignored Ibadon's cries as he was held by his grandma.
Both grandma and son had worried expressions on their faces as the heavenly gate portal swallowed Derylia.
As for whether she would return this time, they could only hope their ominous feeling was nothing but paranoia.
