Chapter 685: Chapter 685: Crouching Tiger

Around the same time that the First Annihilation was about to be initiated, Seth, the Primordial Cat of Freedom, had traveled to the Crouching Tiger Galaxy.

The Crouching Tiger Galaxy was the headquarters of the current tiger civilization.

Seth had traveled there with one objective in mind, to rope these cousins into the war so that they could have more allies to take down the lions.

He himself knew how tenacious the lions could be. He knew that they needed to be hit hard and ruthlessly for the damage to stick. They needed to be wounded so badly that they would not have the chance to recover.

That was what Seth wanted, that was what he was sent to the mortalverse to accomplish. And he would achieve it by any means necessary.

So when he visited the Crouching Tiger Galaxy, he knew what had gone down during the time of Noel, when Noel almost drove the tiger population to extinction before they failed to fight for him.

Of course, wiping them out would have been impossible, as there were too many tigers scattered around, and some tigers were also in Original Heaven, ensuring that the race would always continue.

But it didn’t change the fact that that was Noel’s intent and his actions had seriously devastated the tigers.

He thought that if he made his proposal, the tigers would readily jump at the opportunity to take revenge on the lions.

After all, it wasn’t like they would be fighting alone. There was a growing alliance with the sole purpose of destroying the lions so the tigers wouldn’t be fighting this battle alone.

There was also the promise of spoils and resources that could be gained from raiding the lions to the limit.

But the tigers refused, contrary to what Seth had assumed.

Actually, it was their leader who refused, the current Primordial Tiger, the chief of the whole civilization.

His logic was that the tigers were still recovering and it was not right for them to actively participate in the war. If they participated now, they might lose more than they gained.

It wasn’t impossible that the lions, in their fury, would ignore everyone else and focus only on the tigers. It has happened to other creatures in the past and the tigers didn’t want to be part of them.

In Seth’s eyes, the Chief was being reasonable, but that wasn’t good.

Seth didn’t care about the logic behind their resistance to participate in the war, he wanted them to participate, that’s all.

The Chief and the other elder tigers were respectful to Seth since he was a Primordial and an immortal, but Seth didn’t care.

He had to make sure the tigers were on board with his agenda before leaving this place.

So he said that he was going to stay around for a little while. This made the Chief uncomfortable but they still agreed. What were they supposed to do, send him away?

Could they even do that?

While the tigers hosted Seth, he was busy looking for any piece of information he could use that would help his cause.

That was when he found out about two valuable pieces of news.

The first was that there were two new Tiger Masters in the civilization that had attracted a lot of gazes and discontent. The reason was that these two tigers were not from civilization themselves.

They had mysterious origins and had shown up one day with incredible talent and a lot of battle scars that suggested they had been through a lot.

Constantyne and Agatha.

One was a chimera and the other was a frost tiger with a missing tail.

Seth was curious and he did a personal investigation on these two in secret. He observed them and scanned their entire bodies for oddities, and sure enough, it was there.

Both of them had a network of magic runes in their bodies that was set to explode when triggered.

Seth was an immortal, so he had the power to observe these magic runes without triggering them.

He had his fair share of the study of magic and knew a little bit about how it worked. He could tell that this magic rune was remotely controlled and these two would explode whenever the owner of the runes wanted.

This was a valuable piece of news to Seth. Seth didn’t care who was the owner of the runes, only that they were useful to him here and now.

Seth didn’t tell anyone about this, he kept it to himself so that he would use it for something later.

The second piece of valuable information that he found out was that there was opposition and discontent within the tiger civilization. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺

Opposition came in the form of a wingless air tiger named Chen who had been constantly trying to challenge the Chief’s authority.

Unfortunately, Chen had never succeeded in that endeavor.

He had fought the Chief once in the past and the result was the loss of his wings, an eternal mark of his failure.

Chen had even joined the former alliance that involved Ma’abu and the Anti-Primordial Coalition as a way to gain the power needed to overthrow the Chief.

Unfortunately, that plan also didn’t work out.

There was an opposition, and there were two suicide agents. Seth smiled as he knew exactly what to do to get the whole tiger civilization under his agenda.

Who said that the Primordial Tiger had to be a part of his plan? As far as he was concerned with the recent developments, it would work even better if the Primordial Tiger were removed from the picture.

And that was what he did.

One unassuming day, there was an explosion on the planet where the Chief usually resided.

Agatha was gone.

According to Seth who had been there at that time, she had simply exploded upon getting close to the Primordial Tiger.

As for the Chief himself, he was also gone. The explosion had seemingly killed him.

Under the gaze of Seth and Chen, Constantyne was freed from the curse. Seth, using his abundant powers, wiped away the magic runes without triggering them.

Constantyne, joyful, confessed to the elders that the All-King was responsible for the death of the Primordial Tiger and that he was the one who planned everything.

It didn’t matter if he was lying or telling the truth, this was an opportunity.

With Seth’s blessing, Chen seized power that same day and declared himself the acting chief of the whole tiger civilization.

On that same day, he also declared war on the lions.

And on that same day, he joined the alliance with the Destruction Dragons.
