Reincarnation Of The Strongest Spirit Master-Chapter 1355: The Last Stand Dance!
Becky just took a few steps then she stopped. She had to double check with her spirit sense to make sure she didn’t see things wrongly!
"You... How did you kill these monsters with such ease?!!"
William was dashing from one point to another, while the monsters were getting slaughtered by his flying weapons. She couldn’t believe her eyes, nor her spirit sense, so she had to ask.
"This isn’t the right time for that! Come over and help!" William shouted back, while raining the hundreds of flying weapons on the heads of the wounded monsters.
He could get why she was acting like that. Dealing with these monsters was always a headache in the upper realm, and yet he sounded like he killed them easily.
But he knew better! He didn’t just wave his weapons and they died. He had to exert most of his spirit power to arm up his flying weapons, adding two elements in these attacks: light and lightning!
As he shouted back, she could sniff the weakness that was hidden well in his voice. She considered he was faking it, but when she spotted the bottles, he just emptied its content in his mouth, she knew he wasn’t bluffing.
"You ignited your weapon using spirit power?! You are crazy, you know that?!" She took a moment there to grasp what William did. At least she got what he did without the need of asking him to explain.
The technique to ignite one’s weapon using spirit power was a common technique that no one wanted to risk using. The risk was clear; it would consume one’s spirit power as if fire was eating your spirit power away!
In the middle of a fight, no one would risk depleting their spirit power. So, this kind of technique had a nickname, Last Stand Dance!
She knew potions and elixirs were a great solution to replenish one’s depleted spirit power, but that would eventually do nothing in front of the Last Stand Dance! William would eventually fail in replenishing his spirit power at enough speed before the monsters would reach him!
Just as she had all this in her mind, more monsters seemed to get attracted to him by some sort of magnet. She could see lots and lots of monsters running amok, crossing mountains, and racing to reach him first. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
"No way! Are you out of your goddamn mind?!!" She knew this wasn’t a mere fluke of misfortune, nor it was an accident; it was all William’s doing, "you dare to use the Sweet Mist technique here?!! Do you have a death wish this bad?!!!"
The Swift Mist technique was a lure type technique, in which the master would breathe out a very attractive mist, spreading as far as his spirit sense could cover, and attracting any monster smelling it.
It wasn’t just about luring monsters; it would turn monsters insane! This was the best technique to lure hard to find, fast running monsters with special spirit elements. It was the fastest way of death if used in such a situation like how William did!
"Stay back," Becky was running as fast as she could to try and catch up and stop him. Yet his strong and decisive shout stopped her in track, "I need you to buy me time when I most need it!"
"But..."
"There is no other way to kill these monsters in my world except by using this way," William’s words made her unable to say anything back. Even if she hated it, she had to admit he was right.
His method proved to be very effective against those monsters. As for what he asked her to do, it was the best help she could give him in this battle.
She got what he meant by interfering when he needed it the most. Yet she couldn’t understand the reason behind luring all the monsters in the region over here using that mist.
"Fine," seeing him consume more potions and elixirs made her inwardly sigh, "if you need potions or elixirs, let me know!"
"No need, I’m a guild master, I have enough," he checked and found that he filled his spirit power to the maximum, "time to welcome the incoming guests, shall we?"
He dashed, started to stake his attacks, before throwing himself against the incoming monsters.
Becky kept her distance from behind, armed up with her bow and arrows. Her role was to step in when William couldn’t replenish his spirit power fast enough, using the arrows to delay the monsters and buying him some time.
She was his safe fail measure, and she knew if she failed, he would die.
She took this very seriously. She didn’t even wait for such a moment to arrive, and released arrows out from time to time to help.
William focused on handling the incoming monsters, while she overtook the grand picture, interfering to stop far monsters from putting William under a tough spot.
William noticed this but didn’t say anything. He didn’t have that much time to spare now over checking the entire battlefield. The mist drove monsters crazy, deprived them from the strongest weapon they got, intelligence. And yet, it replaced it with another deadly feature, being relentless and vicious!
William had to exert every ounce of strength he got to kill the monsters fast, but he wasn’t fast enough.
Replenishing his spirit power would take lots of elixir bottles considering how high it was. William needed ten minutes to replenish his spirit power from the rock bottom to the very top.
He tried to replenish his spirit power amidst the fight, but he failed to make any difference in the end.
William had to deprive the monsters from thinking and scheming, or else they would adapt to his fighting style and find ways to make things harder for him.
But at this moment, he started to feel he was rash in using that technique. "Give me some time!" William felt the pressure when he just killed a group of a hundred monsters, to end up facing a larger group of a hundred and twenty coming down the mountains on the side.
