Reincarnation Of The Strongest Spirit Master-Chapter 1356: Sara’s Timely Arrival!
"I’m trying," Becky started to rain down lots of arrows over the monsters almost an hour ago. She wasn’t the one fighting at the forefront like him, but she was feeling exhausted nonetheless, "we need to retreat, create distance and catch our breaths!"
"I know," William gulped a few elixir bottles in one breath, "but we’ll give them time to regroup."
"Do we have any other option?" Becky launched another barrage of arrows, buying him and herself some time, "we advanced almost to the centre of the entire region! I counted more than three thousand monsters killed on your blades in the past five hours! You need to rest, recuperate, recharge, then come and kill them again."
"A battle of attrition you propose I see," William suddenly flashed, standing by her side, "not a bad option."
[Not bad indeed!] just when Becky was about to speak, another one did using spirit telepathy, [we already healed and ready to join the fight once more. Let’s do it!]
William turned to see Sara coming from far away. "Remind me again, how long have we been fighting here?" William turned to Becky, and the latter didn’t need to ask why as she spotted the incoming large group of masters, led by Sara.
"Almost half a day," Becky gave him a long look, "don’t think about fighting now. You need to use this chance to recharge."
"I only need half an hour to replenish my spirit power and heal my wounds," William looked at his body, burdened with lots of wounds, "then we can get back to work."
"..." Becky rolled her eyes, not knowing what to say to this stubborn young master. The moment Sara joined the battle with her faction; things started to stabilise for a bit.
"Take him and have some rest," Sara gave William a worried look, before speaking with Becky. This was the first time she ever saw William in such a messy state.
"Don’t underestimate them," William noticed what the two girls were scheming about, "just hold them back, try to entrap them again using the formations. They will fall into them easier this time."
"Just get him away to rest," Sara checked William again, before worryingly saying to Becky.
"I’ll try my best," Becky raised both hands in a helpless way, as she knew William wouldn’t listen to her words in the end.
William didn’t leave as everyone wanted, he simply retreated for a couple mountain peaks and started recuperating. He didn’t stop observing the ongoing clashes.
Sara and her masters rested enough to return to the battlefield with much vigor and strength. The monsters which were cunning to evade their formations before started to easily fall into the traps.
Sara and everyone else felt puzzled about that, except for William and Becky. The latter could tell how effective that mist technique was. She started to see why William insisted on using this technique, despite all the dangers and risks involved with it.
"They are doing great," Becky was surprised by how well the new attack fared against the monsters. Sara’s masters were effectively entrapping the monsters, while the upper realm masters finished them.
"There are still lots of monsters coming," William noticed the arrival of more monsters to the region.
"Shouldn’t the technique be limited to the range of your spirit sense? Why are new monsters heading this way?!"
She got a point, and yet William couldn’t tell the reason behind that. The monsters coming from the outside were in large numbers, looking more like an outbreak than just a normal monster wave.
"I think it’s time for you to stop the technique," she advised, "we can’t stop that many, you know that!"
"Sure," William instantly stopped the mist technique, and yet the monsters kept flooding the mountainous area without showing any sign of stopping.
"What’s happening?!’ Becky turned to William in doubt, "didn’t you stop it?!!"
"I did, but it seems my technique isn’t the reason," William closely watched what these monsters were doing. All he could see was enraged monsters, without any clue about what caused them to go berserk like this.
"What shall we do then?" Becky thought, like William, that his technique was the main reason behind attracting monsters. Yet it was clear now there was something else in play.
"I’ll return the technique," William noticed when he stopped the technique, the monsters fighting Sara and others started to regain their intelligence. They evaded the formations and began even helping and freeing monsters entrapped in the formations.
The situation was going to escalate to the worst if he didn’t intervene again, especially with the incoming large number of monsters. William activated his technique once more. And the effects of that appeared right away on the battlefield.
"What shall we do then?" Becky knew there was no point in stopping the technique, and yet she couldn’t find a proper way to save the situation.
"What else? Let’s get back and do our job," William paused, before adding, "but this time let’s work far from them."
"This time let’s get a proper team," Becky didn’t give him any chance to object. She dashed and went ahead, moving towards specific targets she marked.
"Wait... This Becky..." William was too late to stop her. And when he watched what she was doing, he was sure she wasn’t wasting her time and resting as he thought.
She kept tracking the ongoing fights, picking the most astounding masters in the entire battlefield. Fighting the monsters required collaboration from a large number of masters, in which outstanding talents wouldn’t be needed that much.
"I grabbed a few capable folks to help," she didn’t take longer than ten minutes to return, and on her side stood a group of twenty-five masters.
"It’s him!"
"It’s our guild boss!"
"Wow!"
William could hear their whispers, and he didn’t care. "You brought them, so they are your team," William gave Becky a warning glance, before he started to move, "let’s go, we have lots of monsters to kill!"
"What shall we do?"
"Won’t the boss lead us?!"
