Rejected: A love story-Chapter 106: Truth or Dare 2
I swallowed, my mouth suddenly dry. "Truth?"
The group groaned like I’d just ruined their fun.
"Boring!" someone shouted, and a few people laughed.
Tasha leaned closer, her grin widening. "Okay, Fiona. Who’s the last person you fantasized about?"
I blinked, feeling my face heat up instantly. "What? No, I’m not answering that!"
"You have to," Tasha said, laughing. "That’s the rule!"
I shook my head, wishing I could disappear. Nathan’s face flickered in my mind, but I shoved the thought away. This wasn’t the place for that.
"I don’t have one," I said finally, my voice barely above a whisper.
The group groaned again, but Tasha just laughed. "Fine, we’ll let you off the hook this time. But next round, no more playing it safe."
I nodded quickly, relieved to be off the spotlight—for now.
The game continued, with dares getting wilder and truths getting messier. Someone was dared to kiss the person sitting next to them. Another guy had to shotgun two beers back-to-back.
I was trying to blend into the background when the bottle spun again.
It landed on me.
"Fiona!" Tasha said, her grin practically evil now. "Truth or dare?"
I hesitated, knowing there was no way out this time. "Dare," I said, my voice shaky.
The group erupted into cheers, and Tasha clapped her hands. "Yes! Okay, let’s see..."
She paused, her eyes scanning the pool, then stopped, her grin turning mischievous.
"You’re jumping into the pool," she said, pointing toward the water.
I sighed, already regretting my choice. "Fine."
"In Mike’s arms," she added, smirking.
I froze, my heart lurching. "What?"
"You heard me," she said, laughing. "Mike’s already in the pool, so... you’re jumping in, and he’s catching you."
The group erupted into laughter and whistles, and I felt my face burn. I glanced toward the pool, where Mike was standing waist-deep in the water, watching the scene unfold with an unreadable expression.
"Tasha, I don’t think—"
"No excuses!" she said, cutting me off. "It’s a dare, Fiona. You have to do it."
I swallowed, my stomach twisting as the group started chanting, "Do it! Do it!"
Mike didn’t say anything. He just stood there, waiting.
I walked toward the edge of the pool, my legs feeling like they weighed a ton. The water shimmered under the lights, and I could feel the heat of everyone’s eyes on me.
Mike tilted his head slightly, his gaze steady but unreadable.
"Ready?" he asked, his voice calm.
I nodded, though I wasn’t sure I was.
Taking a deep breath, I stepped forward and jumped.
The water rushed up to meet me, but before I could even process it, Mike’s arms were around me, steady and strong.
I gasped, clutching his shoulders instinctively as he held me against him. The water was cool, but his skin was warm, and I couldn’t ignore the way my heart was racing—or the fact that his abs were pressed against me.
"You okay?" he asked, his voice low.
I nodded quickly, my cheeks burning. "Yeah. Sorry, I didn’t mean to—"
"It’s fine," he said, his grip firm but gentle as he helped me steady myself.
I glanced up at him, and for a moment, I couldn’t look away. His face was close—closer than I expected—and his eyes were locked on mine, still unreadable but intense.
I wanted to step back, to get out of the water and away from whatever this was, but I couldn’t move.
The group was cheering and laughing behind us, but it felt distant, like background noise.
Finally, Mike shifted, breaking the moment. "You good to swim back?"
"Yeah," I said quickly, my voice shaky.
He let go, and I swam to the edge, climbing out as fast as I could.
Tasha was waiting with a towel, grinning like she’d just won the lottery.
"That was amazing," she said, handing me the towel.
"Sure," I muttered, wrapping it around myself and sitting back down.
The next round started before I could catch my breath.
"Okay," someone shouted, "I dare you to give the guy next to you a lap dance!"
The circle went wild. Whistles, shouting, claps — the guy looked like he’d seen a ghost, while she grinned like she’d been waiting for this.
I clutched my towel against me. I didn’t want to look, and yet I couldn’t look away. The girl swayed provocatively, pressing against him. His hands hovered nervously at his sides, then he gave a small, awkward laugh as she spun around him, the group cheering louder with every bold move.
"Oh my god," I whispered to myself, my face burning. "This is insane."
The guy was literally hard and she continued, It was nice and wasn’t nice to watch at the same time. I got shocked when she slid her hand into his pants.
"Okay! That’s enough." I quickly turned away.
Before I could recover, the bottle spun again, landing on a tall guy with broad shoulders.
"Truth or dare?" someone shouted.
"Dare," he said quickly, bracing himself.
"Okay... kiss the person next to you," the dare-giver said, smirking.
My eyes widened as I realized — was Tasha.
"Wait, what?" I muttered under my breath.
Tasha looked at him and laughed. "Fine," he said, leaning in with a devilish grin. Their lips met — a bold, full kiss, involving some french kiss.
The group went nuts, some were shouting, others were hooting, and someone grabbed their phone to record it.
I blinked, staring. Tasha didn’t seem embarrassed at all, just thrilled, but my jaw tightened. I could feel the heat rising to my cheeks, wishing I could look away.
Then another dare came.
A guy was dared to...Finger a girl! Like.... well, I didn’t need to see the details. I felt my stomach flip, my mouth going dry, and I quickly turned my head, pretending to adjust my towel.
That was enough for me.
I needed to get out.
"Be right back," I muttered to Tasha, who was too caught up in cheering to notice.
I slipped past the circle, my towel tight around me, and headed for the bar stand. The noise faded slightly behind me, though I could still hear the wild cheers and laughter.
I rested my hands on the counter, letting my body slump a little, trying to calm my racing heart. My mind replayed everything I’d just seen, the audacity, the boldness of everyone around me.
"You okay?"
