Rejected by the Campus Belle, I Find My True Love-Chapter 291 - 289: What’s Different About Me Today?
"You go ahead. I’ll catch up."
"The meeting is about to start. What else do you need to do?"
Xue Yang felt a bit guilty. "I was in a hurry and forgot to bring my notebook."
"I only have one. Should I tear out a couple of pages for you?" Yu Kexin offered, pointing to her notebook.
She made a move to open it.
"No need. I’ll just borrow one from next door. You go ahead. It wouldn’t look good if both the president and vice president were late."
With just two torn pages, I might as well pretend I didn’t know and skip the meeting altogether.
"Oh."
So *now* he realized it wouldn’t look good? Yu Kexin grumbled to herself, then picked up her notebook and headed for the meeting room.
Xue Yang, meanwhile, walked toward the nearby publicity office. He hoped to bump into someone he knew and borrow a notebook.
Just as he reached the entrance of the publicity office, he ran into an old acquaintance.
She wore a long, black coat. Her hair was styled in large, milky-tea-colored waves that framed a beautiful face. Below, thick tights and a pair of black, knee-high boots perfectly outlined her long legs. She was the kind of person who was hard to resist.
Xue Yang averted his gaze.
My own Xiao Naimao is still cuter.
The woman greeted him with a smile. "President Xue, long time no see."
Xue Yang smiled back. "Classmate Sun, long time no see."
Sun Yufei feigned surprise. "How rare. I can’t believe President Xue still remembers me."
"You left a deep, unforgettable impression."
"Huh?"
I can’t remember doing anything that would have left such an impression on Xue Yang. Could it be... had Cui Hao said something about me to him? Perfect. It’s been a long time since I asked Cui Hao to get a room. I’m free today, so it’s the perfect opportunity to ask him out for some fun.
Sun Yufei quietly began to plot.
Meanwhile, Cui Hao, who was already sitting in the meeting room, suddenly sneezed. Strange, who’s talking about me? Could it be my Bai Yueguang?
Ever since teaming up with Xue Yang that one time, his Bai Yueguang hadn’t played games with him in days. He had sent her several messages on QQ, but she hadn’t replied. He wondered what she was up to.
Cui Hao sat up straight and glanced around. The meeting was about to start.
Xue Yang got straight to the point. "Classmate Sun, I have a meeting to get to. Do you happen to have a spare notebook I could borrow?"
Sun Yufei teased, "Isn’t President Xue here specifically for the meeting? How could you forget to bring a notebook?"
Xue Yang rubbed his nose. He wasn’t here for the meeting at all. He had just come by on a whim to take a look and happened to walk right into one. If he had known, he wouldn’t have come. Judging by their attitudes, it seemed they wouldn’t have called for him even if he hadn’t shown up. Though he didn’t know why, he didn’t bother to investigate further.
"As it happens, I have a new one. It’s yours." Sun Yufei picked up a new notebook from her desk and handed it to Xue Yang.
Xue Yang took it with both hands. "Thank you."
"President Xue, may I have the honor of accompanying you to the meeting room?" Sun Yufei offered.
Perfect, Xue Yang thought. I don’t even remember where the meeting room is.
"The honor would be all mine."
The two of them started walking toward the meeting room.
"President Xue, I’m genuinely curious. Who exactly is your girlfriend?"
Xue Yang frowned slightly. What’s with everyone lately? Why are they all so curious about my girlfriend?
"Classmate Sun, do I look any different today?"
"?"
Isn’t that the kind of question a girl usually asks a guy? Why is it the other way around with Xue Yang?
Sun Yufei looked up and studied Xue Yang closely. This was the first time she had ever walked so close to him, able to observe him so openly.
As Xue Yang stood in the sunlight, she had to admit he was truly handsome. He had long eyelashes and double eyelids that all girls would envy, and his large eyes were bright and expressive. When he wasn’t smiling, he might seem aloof, but not unapproachable. Instead, there was something about him that made one irresistibly want to get to know him better. When he smiled, his eyes curved, the very picture of a sunny, boy-next-door type.
Being with a guy like that would surely be very pleasant. So, who exactly is his girlfriend? He’s refusing to say, which only makes me more curious. Could this be the legendary ’making up a girlfriend’?
Sun Yufei’s nose twitched as she caught a faint, clean scent. "Did you put on cologne today?"
"..."
Why is she just like that fool Cui Hao, assuming I’m wearing cologne?
He glanced at a couple holding hands nearby. "Guess again."
Sun Yufei’s gaze landed back on Xue Yang’s smooth, handsome face. "President Xue, don’t tell me you’re wearing makeup."
"Guess again. I’m naturally good-looking; I don’t need makeup."
I have a feeling that if I guess wrong again, it will be a cardinal sin. Naturally good-looking... Generally, when girls claim to be naturally good-looking, it means they put in a lot of hard work behind the scenes.
"President Xue, don’t tell me you’re talking about... skincare?"
Xue Yang smiled. "Bingo."
"Boys do skincare?"
"I don’t know about others, but I usually don’t."
He usually doesn’t, but he is now. That means... Oh, I get it. It must have been his girlfriend who made him do it. I never knew Xue Yang was the reserved but secretly passionate type. Instead of trying to explain away the rumors, he’s using his actions to dispel them. So devious. Using a method like this to show everyone he really does have a girlfriend.
Sun Yufei was silent for the rest of the walk.
Xue Yang was happy to enjoy the peace and quiet.
Five minutes later, they arrived at the conference room, where many people were already seated.
As soon as they entered, a young man in the center of the room waved at Sun Yufei. "Classmate Sun, you’re here! Come, I saved you a seat."
However, when he saw Xue Yang beside her, his expression soured for a moment before he quickly smoothed it over. "And who is this student? I don’t believe I’ve seen you in the student council before."
Xue Yang raised an eyebrow slightly. Someone really doesn’t recognize me, the president of the student council?
Sun Yufei whispered in his ear, "That’s Tang Zhisheng, from the Department of Economics and Management. He had a family matter to attend to during our last student council gathering, and you’ve barely been around since then, so he doesn’t know you."
"What a coincidence."
Sun Yufei nodded. "It is, isn’t it?"
Just as Xue Yang was about to speak, Tang Zhisheng stood up. "Excuse me, student, this is a meeting for school leaders and the student council. Unrelated personnel should leave."
His loud declaration instantly drew the attention of everyone in the room. An outsider had crashed a student council meeting?
Cui Hao looked toward the entrance and saw Xue Yang leaning against the doorframe, a half-smile on his face as he watched the other student.
Well, well. Someone is actually confronting the student council president. This is a spectacle not to be missed.
