Remarriage Failed Again Today-Chapter 85: I Guarantee You Won’t See Tomorrow’s Sun
’Why can’t this moron learn to read the room before she speaks?’
’Can’t she see Leona Grant’s expression is absolutely thunderous right now?’
Faye Sheffield scrambled up from the floor, fuming. She charged menacingly toward Annabelle Linton, determined to get justice for herself, but faltered under the icy glare in Annabelle’s eyes.
Her body took two involuntary steps back, but she wasn’t ready to give up. Putting on a brave face, she blustered, "Annabelle Linton, who the hell do you think you are? You only married into the Grant Family because of the marriage contract between the Lintons and the Grants. The Linton Family is about to go under! You still think you’re the esteemed Young Madam of the Grant Family? Believe it or not, I could destroy you in a heartbeat!"
Vivian Yates: "..."
She was in no mood to comment on Faye, but... her eyes suddenly lit up.
’The Linton Family is going under?’
’How come I didn’t know about this?’
Annabelle Linton listened to the threat, her expression completely unchanged.
’Faye Sheffield’s father, Landon Sheffield, is a good friend of William Chapman and a shareholder in the Linton Group. In my past life, those two colluded to take countless bribes from the company. They’re two of a kind, both rotten to the core. I’ll have to pay them a personal visit in a couple of days!’
’If only Faye Sheffield had said this to me back then in my past life.’
’I would have at least had time to figure things out. I wouldn’t have been so foolish as to believe my father had truly gone abroad to find business opportunities, planning to make a comeback and give my brother and me a better life once he’d earned enough money.’
In truth, Faye Sheffield didn’t understand the details herself; she had only overheard bits and pieces on the phone. Since her father hadn’t told her and her mother directly, it meant he didn’t want them to know. She was only blurting it out now because she had lost her head in anger.
"Is that so?"
Annabelle watched her, expressionless. The corners of her lips curved into a cold, arrogant smirk that looked down on everything. "Then by all means, try."
"..."
"Try it. By tomorrow, you’ll be gone from Lynton. I guarantee you won’t see the sunrise."
Her tone was level, yet it carried an indisputable pressure. The simple words were powerfully intimidating.
Leona Grant watched the woman before him, his gaze profound. He was once again shaken by the sheer force in her eyes.
She had the aura of a monarch surveying their domain. Even in a drab, oversized hospital gown, her posture was ramrod straight—proud and poised. Her slender face was so exquisite it was almost bewitching.
Her gaze was sharp and astute, domineering and powerful. The slight upturn of her lips was a curve of utter disdain, a look of supreme and unassailable arrogance, as if she were high above all creation.
In her arrogant, cold eyes, Leona Grant saw a cold-blooded ruthlessness, an unstoppable force.
He had never seen this side of Annabelle Linton. In the coldness of her eyes, he thought he could glimpse her future: her nonchalance, her ruthlessness, and her unparalleled charm.
A thread of panic began to spread through his heart. It was an indescribable feeling, and he had no idea where it was coming from.
"My sister-in-law told you to get lost. Are you deaf or something?" Ashley Grant said, looking at Faye Sheffield. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
For once, Faye Sheffield had the sense to see she wouldn’t gain any advantage here. She shot Annabelle Linton one last venomous glare, snatched her bag from the table, and left.
Annabelle turned her attention back to Mrs. Yates and asked coolly, "Mrs. Yates, you still haven’t answered my questions. You claim I slandered you and spread rumors—do you have any proof? And who exactly were you calling a vixen?"
Mrs. Yates looked at the aloof young woman before her. Annabelle was clearly wearing the same type of hospital gown as her own daughter, and even had gauze taped to her forehead, yet she showed no trace of weakness or fear. The chill in her eyes made Mrs. Yates shudder.
"What’s with that look on your face? Are you planning to hit my wife?" Mr. Yates sneered. "Just as expected. A daughter raised by a man like William Chapman would have the same rotten character!"
