Return of the Immortal Emperor Daddy-Chapter 226 Who is the Master
"Senior Brother Arrow King, save me! Save me!" The moment the Right Elder saw the Arrow King, he felt as if his savior had arrived and scrambled toward him in a panic.
The Arrow King had met the Cui Family's patriarch and Family Head at the entrance and was shocked to walk in on such a scene. Still trying to understand the situation, he asked, "What exactly happened?"
At that moment, silver needles shot from Lin Yi's hand. Arriving without shadow and leaving no form, they were not only fast but also unnervingly strange, seeming to trace an arc through the air along an incalculable trajectory.
The Right Elder, who was still basking in the illusion that he had been saved, uttered a dreadful scream the very next moment. He collapsed to the ground. The silver needles had moved so fast that almost no one saw them clearly.
Enraged, the Arrow King bellowed, "Martial Nephew Lin Yi, what do you think you're doing?"
Lin Yi gave a wretched smile. "Martial Uncle, haven't you noticed the changes in me since I came out of seclusion? Heh, you're an honest man, uninterested in power and without a scheming bone in your body. You have no idea what the Left and Right Elders did to me."
The Arrow King hadn't given it much thought before, but now something dawned on him. His expression changed drastically. "Are you saying they forced you to practice *that* martial art?"
Lin Yi nodded.
The Arrow King fell silent, his anger dissipating. The Right Elder's death was deserved. That martial art was a taboo of the Huashan Sect. Legend had it that a former Sect Leader of Huashan, desperate to become the strongest under heaven, had resorted to all sorts of schemes and tricks to acquire the technique. Alas, he still failed to achieve his goal. But the martial art itself was preserved, becoming a forbidden technique that generations of disciples were forbidden from practicing. To think the Left and Right Elders, in their desire to bring glory to the Huashan Sect, had actually forced Lin Yi to learn it.
"Forget it, just forget it," the Arrow King sighed. "The future of Huashan will have to rely on you. You know that I'm simply not cut out to be the Sect Leader."
Lin Yi shook his head again and walked toward Wu Tian.
Seeing this, the Arrow King was startled. The Arrow Queen, however, was far more astute. She knew that Lin Yi must have offended Wu Tian and held the Arrow King back, signaling him not to act rashly.
"I have come to accept my death," Lin Yi declared, standing before Wu Tian.
Wu Tian nodded faintly. Lin Yi had offended him, and for that, he had to die.
Wu Tian's sword rose and fell. Another spray of blood splattered onto the ground.
The Huashan Sect disciples were stupefied. The Left and Right Elders were dead. Ding Yi and Wang Chong were dead. And now, Lin Yi was dead too. Aside from the travel-loving Arrow King, who rarely returned to Huashan, was there anyone left in their sect? Was the Huashan Sect destined to fall into decline from this day forward?
"Martial Uncle, you must get justice for us!"
"Martial Uncle!"
The Huashan disciples could no longer remain seated. One by one, they rose, walked over to the Arrow King, and knelt before him, pleading for him to take action and punish Wu Tian. This would show the world that even without the Left and Right Elders and Lin Yi, the Huashan Sect was not a force to be trifled with. However, none of them noticed the conflicted look on the Arrow King's face.
The younger Cui disciples were in a similar state. Wu Tian had shown them no regard, killing at will, and they had even been beaten by a child. They hadn't dared to speak up earlier, but now that the old patriarch, Cui Chong, and Family Head Cui Ming had returned, their courage was restored.
Cui Shanshui and the others glanced at Wu Tian. "I'm going to report this to my grandfather," he sneered. "You'd better pray for good luck."
"That's right, pray for good luck!" the others echoed.
With that, all the younger Cui disciples, except for Cui Shanhe, went to lodge their complaints with Cui Chong and Cui Ming. To dare kill someone on Cui Family property… In their eyes, Wu Tian was courting death. Cui Chong and Cui Ming's thunderous fury would not be easily appeased.
A buzz of discussion rippled through the crowd.
"Son, did you see that? Someone who can't endure may find a moment of triumph, but it won't last long."
"Daughter, you must remember today's lesson. Only those who can endure are capable of achieving great things."
The lords and ladies present once again took the opportunity to educate their own children.
Gona and Watt watched the scene unfold quietly.
Watt sighed with emotion. "I can't believe even Lin Yi couldn't handle him and was killed instead. But so what? He's gone and offended both the Arrow King and the Cui Family at once."
Gona nodded. If the Arrow King and the Cui Family could deal with Wu Tian for them, that would be perfect. "Watt," Gona said, "your plan was indeed excellent. I'll admit it, you're starting to remind me of Zhuge Liang or Liu Bowen."
"Thank you, Young Master," Watt replied instantly.
Now, the Huashan disciples were kneeling before the Arrow King, begging him to kill Wu Tian. The Cui Family disciples had also flocked to Cui Chong and Cui Ming, describing how outrageously Wu Tian had behaved in their home. Cui Chong and Cui Ming both looked deeply displeased, which the younger disciples mistook as anger directed at Wu Tian.
The Arrow King looked at the kneeling Huashan disciples and sighed. "Do you all know that I was in peril last night and was rescued by an expert?"
The Huashan disciples nodded, showing they knew.
"That very expert is here today," the Arrow King added.
He was giving them a subtle hint, trying to tell them that Wu Tian was that expert and that they should stop making a scene. But the Huashan disciples completely missed the point. All they heard was that besides the Arrow King, another expert was present, which made Wu Tian seem even more insignificant in comparison. It was a testament to the Arrow King's poor communication skills that his hint was completely lost on them.
This new information only made the Huashan disciples cry out with greater fervor. "We implore our Martial Uncle to draw his bow and eliminate this evil!"
"Please, Martial Uncle, take action! Reward the good and punish the wicked!"
"Please, Martial Uncle, avenge our Elders!"
The Arrow King remained silent.
Cui Chong, however, was surprised to learn that the Arrow King also knew an expert who was present at the banquet. He chuckled. "Arrow King, this old man hosted this banquet for an expert I wish to befriend. I wonder... between the expert you know and the one I wish to meet, who is greater?"
The Arrow King, full of confidence in Wu Tian, replied, "The expert I know is undoubtedly superior."
"I'm not so sure about that," Cui Chong chuckled in return.
The exchange between Cui Chong and the Arrow King sent another shockwave through the guests.
"So Cui Chong really did host this banquet for an expert!"
"But I never imagined the expert the Arrow King knows is also among us. I wonder who it could be."
"I wonder which of these two experts is more formidable."
The crowd buzzed with speculation. Some argued that the expert sought by the prestigious Cui Family of Qinghe must be incredibly powerful. Others disagreed, insisting that an expert known by the Arrow King, one of the Seven Saints of Dragon Country, must be the strongest of all.
Cui Shanhe, along with Qin Yuhan and the others, walked over to Wu Tian's side. Knowing the truth, Qin Yuhan, Xia Qian, and the little one all shared a knowing smile.
Cui Shanhe, however, was unaware. He leaned in and whispered confidently to Wu Tian, "Mr. Wu Tian, I believe you are the strongest. That expert the Arrow King knows is surely no match for you."
Wu Tian simply smiled and said nothing.
The younger Cui disciples were ecstatic.
Cui Shanshui asked, "Grandfather, has the expert we wish to meet arrived?"
"He has," Cui Chong confirmed.
Cui Shanshui and the others immediately began scanning the crowd, assuming the expert must be a silver-haired elder. But which one could it be? They looked left and right.
