Return With the Billionaire Baby Daddy-Chapter 107: Samuel was the culprit
The fascinating aroma greeted her nose, causing her to wake up immediately and stare at the ceiling, memories of Daniel’s kidnapping haunting her once again, urging her to sit up and look at Hannah.
"Hannah... Has Tristan succeeded in bringing Daniel back?" she asked anxiously.
Hannah just shook her head. "But Damian will come. Maybe he will do something."
"He’s late, he can’t do anything!" Valerie exclaimed in frustration, quickly getting up from the bed and grabbing her phone from the table. She hurriedly walked out of the room and left the house, crying.
"Daniel... Where are you? Oh God... Please protect my son!"
She continued walking towards the daycare, but suddenly her phone rang. She saw an incoming call from an unknown number and answered it quickly.
"Hello?"
"Hey... It’s me... Samuel" greeted Samuel from the other end.
"What do you want after ruining my life? I don’t have time to deal with you now!" Valerie became more emotional.
"Hey hey... Calm down... Don’t misunderstand. I have something you want."
"What?"
"Mama... Mama..."
Valerie’s eyes widened as she realized it was Daniel’s voice. "Daniel... Is that you?"
"He’s safe with me," Samuel said again, sounding so calm. "But he might not be okay if you take him with Damian or anyone else. I want you to come here... Intersection of 124Rose. We’re waiting for you but never come with Damian or anyone else... Daniel’s safety is in my hands..."
"Samuel... Are you threatening me? Why are you doing this?" Valerie wondered, but suddenly the phone call was cut off.
"Oh my..." Valerie glared at her phone angrily, Daniel’s voice echoing in her ears. She looked around, hearing the sound of sirens not far from where she stood.
"Maybe it’s the police Tristan called. They can’t see me; I have to find Daniel immediately!"
She quickly ran in the opposite direction while contacting an online taxi to take her to Samuel and Daniel’s location.
...
Several minutes passed, Damian was almost reaching Valerie’s house but he stopped when he saw Hannah on the street looking confused. He immediately got out of the car and approached her.
"Hey... What are you doing here? Where’s Valerie?" he asked, puzzled.
"I don’t know where Valerie is... After waking up, she ran out of the house. I chased her but couldn’t find her," Hannah answered anxiously. "But maybe she’s joining Tristan at the abduction location," she continued.
"Show me the place!" Damian exclaimed, quickly returning to his car but canceling to get in when he saw Tristan arriving on his motorcycle. He closed the door again and looked at the man with annoyance, remembering trying to approach Valerie but now wasn’t the time to be emotional. "Where’s Valerie?"
"Valerie?" Tristan furrowed his brows. "I don’t know where she is... I haven’t even seen her since this morning." He became more confused and immediately got off the motorcycle.
"Oh God!" Hannah grew more confused. "Then where is she? Maybe she’s trying to find Daniel? But she couldn’t possibly search without any clues!"
"Does she have her phone?" Tristan asked.
Hannah nodded.
"I’m sure the kidnapper must have contacted her and asked her to release Daniel without anyone’s help so she wouldn’t wait for us!" Tristan said with a serious look.
Damian immediately furrowed his brows. "How do you know? Or could it be that you kidnapped Daniel, then you’ll save him so you’ll look like his guardian angel again, then Valerie will..."
"Stop your nonsense!" Tristan snapped at Damian and stopped talking. "I’m not crazy, I don’t need to use that method to get her attention... Besides, I never tried to approach her... She’s just a friend to me, and now I’m trying to help her. What I just said is something common for kidnappers, I’m a former CIA agent, I understand about criminals!"
Damian just stayed silent, his face still tense.
Tristan went back to his motorcycle. "I’ll try to find her my way!" he said, immediately driving his motorcycle back towards the house.
"Damian, don’t you have someone you can rely on to help Daniel or..."
"I’ll find him my way!" Damian exclaimed before Hannah finished her question. He immediately got back into his car, then looked at his phone and called Valerie, but her number was already inactive.
"Jerry, it’s urgent, I need your help!" he said anxiously.
"What happened?"
"Daniel was kidnapped, then shortly after, Valerie disappeared too. I’m sure Valerie got a call from the kidnapper... I need your help to track whoever contacted her last," Damian explained anxiously. "After that, send me that caller’s number, and I’ll track where they went..."
"Okay, I’ll do my best. Wait a moment, my laptop is in the room."
Damian hung up the phone and then called his mother, asking his people to join in this rescue mission.
...
Valerie got out of the taxi, immediately approaching Samuel who was waiting next to the black car.
"Where’s Daniel?" she asked.
Samuel just stayed silent, then reached out his hand to Valerie. "Give me your phone."
Valerie quickly reached into her pocket to take out her phone and handed it to Samuel.
But she was shocked when the man immediately threw her phone into the drain.
"Samuel, are you crazy? Many people will call me... People from drama projects... and..."
"You don’t need it anymore!" Samuel exclaimed, quickly grabbing Valerie’s hand and dragging her towards the car.
He pushed her into the driver’s seat where Daniel was, sitting with his legs and hands tied, even his mouth was covered with cloth.
"Oh God, my son!"
Valerie immediately approached Daniel and removed the cloth and ropes then hugged him, crying, kissing him without realizing the car was slowly moving.
"Mom, I’m scared," Daniel whispered, his trembling lips.
"Don’t be afraid, sweetheart. Mom is here," Valerie replied, hugging Daniel again.
Samuel drove and smirked thinly, glancing at Daniel and Valerie’s togetherness from the mirror.
"Nothing bad will happen if you’re always with me," he said.
Valerie immediately turned to him with a sharp look. "What do you want?"
"Of course, both of you."
"Can’t you respect my decision? I don’t like you, you’ve ruined my beautiful plans with Damian. And now you want me to follow your wishes? Do you think you deserve that?" Valerie asked impatiently, still hugging Daniel.
"The problem is, I don’t care whether I deserve it or not," Samuel said casually. "I’ve fought too hard for you all this time, so it would be a pity if it’s not continued. And maybe this is the last option," he continued with a cynical smile.
"Do you think you’ll succeed? I’m sure Damian’s people will rescue us soon and you’ll rot in jail?"
"Or you’ll be rotting in my jail..."
"Your jail?" Valerie stared at Samuel in horror, imagining if, after this, she would hide with Daniel.
