Return With the Billionaire Baby Daddy-Chapter 108: Valerie takes Daniel away
Tristan stopped his motorcycle as the police car blocked him. He immediately got off and removed his helmet, approaching one of the blue-uniformed officers who had just stepped out of the car.
"How’s it going? Did you manage to find them?"
"We found the car, but Daniel wasn’t there," the officer replied with a worried look. "But they said they were only instructed to kidnap, the mysterious person who paid them... The mysterious man took Daniel from their car and then took him away, so they don’t know who that person is," he continued.
"Damn!" Tristan clenched his fists.
"But we still brought them to the police station for honesty tests, and another team will meet Daniel’s family for the next search," the officer explained again.
"Of course, there must be CCTV footage of the car," Tristan responded with a serious look. "Where did they stop and the mysterious man took Daniel?"
"We’re investigating that... Our team is checking the CCTV," the officer said.
"Alright..."
Tristan nodded, quickly returning to his motorcycle, and fell silent, thinking about what he should do to find Daniel and Valerie.
’I may not mean anything to them, and I even had to commit crimes against them, but why am I worrying about them?’ he wondered in his mind, haunted by the beautiful face of Valerie and the adorable Daniel.
...
Damian managed to track the last number that contacted Valerie. Accompanied by his mother’s trusted associate, Hans, he headed to the last known location of that number from the GPS.
"The streets are deserted," Hans murmured.
Damian remained silent, quickly getting out of the car and surveying the hot and empty surroundings, not finding any stopped car, but when he looked at his phone, the point remained stationary.
"But they should still be here," he said anxiously.
Hans stayed silent, walking around the streets, while Damian did the same until their eyes found a piece of an object on the asphalt, like a phone.
"Hey..." He immediately picked up the phone fragment. "It seems like they deliberately dropped this phone here, thinking we were following them," Hans explained.
Damian approached, picking up the phone fragment.
"There must be fingerprints from the owner of this phone. We need to find other parts of the phone without touching it!" he said anxiously, immediately looking around, always walking towards the grass. "Maybe some parts of the phone got thrown away...."
Damian searched for the phone parts, while Hans looked up and found a CCTV camera on the roadside.
"I’ll call the police to come here; this CCTV needs to be checked. We’ll know who disposed of the phone here. Maybe we can find clues about the car," he said, taking his phone out of his black pants pocket.
Damian squatted in the grass and carefully took the phone piece with a handkerchief from his pocket, making sure not to touch it with his fingers.
"Hans, I got it!" he exclaimed.
Hans had finished the call and saw Damian walking hastily carrying the phone piece with the ash-stained handkerchief.
"Good, the police will come here, and they’ll check the CCTV," he said.
Damian placed the phone piece on his car and then sighed. His face couldn’t hide the fear, constantly thinking about the condition of Valerie and Daniel now.
"So, we wait for the police?" he asked with sad looks.
"Yes, it’s better than us continuing to search without clues," Hans replied calmly, looking at Damian who looked sad. "Now try to think about who might have kidnapped Daniel. Because if the kidnapper wanted money, they should have called you and demanded ransom, not kidnapped Valerie too," he continued.
Damian shook his head.
"But I heard you have a friend who is a traitor and obsessed with Valerie," Hans said again.
Damian nodded.
"That’s Samuel... The last time we met was two months ago. I came to see him with Clara and Jerry and also Valerie. We all witnessed Clara exposing her cunning... But at that time, he didn’t feel guilty and showed no remorse," he explained, then furrowed his brows as if he had found something in his mind. "Or maybe he’s the one? He keeps trying to get Valerie!" He speculated ambitiously at Hans.
"It’s possible... We need to ask the police to help us... Just tell them the important points so it’s easier to investigate all of this," Hans replied, nodding his head.
"I may need to get information from his workplace. If he’s not in the office and not in his apartment either, it means he’s with Valerie and my son!"
"Could be..."
Damian immediately contacted his office staff, instructing them to contact the company where Samuel worked.
...
Samuel stopped his car at a villa and then opened the door for Valerie. He immediately carried the sleeping Daniel and saw Valerie staring at him seriously.
"If you don’t want to come with me now, I can throw your son right now!" he exclaimed with his eyes narrowed.
Valerie remained silent, immediately following Samuel towards the front door of the villa, which was not too large and had a classic, long-unpainted atmosphere.
"Mama," Daniel whispered from behind.
"Don’t worry," Valerie replied with a smile. "It’s Uncle Samuel... He won’t hurt us," she continued with a reassuring look, as if not wanting Daniel to be constantly afraid.
Daniel glanced at Samuel, who smiled at him.
"Don’t be afraid of me, I took you from those bad thugs before... And now we’re here to hide," Samuel said calmly.
"But you tied my hands and feet in the car," Daniel replied hoarsely.
"So you wouldn’t move around freely in the car and fall... You know I didn’t bring a special seat for kids, right... That’s why I tied you up."
"You yelled at mom... I... I also saw you pushing her into the car," Daniel said again, as if not believing Samuel.
Samuel smirked. "You’re smart, but you better be quiet!" he said, gritting his teeth.
Valerie could only remain silent and resigned, unable to fight against Samuel because it would endanger Daniel. She followed him until they stopped in a dimly lit room with a wooden floor.
Samuel put Daniel down but immediately held his right hand so he wouldn’t run away, while his left hand took out a small knife. He pried one of the floors until he managed to lift it.
"Oh my..." Valerie was astonished, not expecting to find a door behind the floor leading to an underground room. ’Is he going to put me in there? Does he want to lock me and Daniel in there?’ she wondered in her mind, her eyes widening, instantly imagining what her life would be like if Damian or anyone couldn’t find them there.
’No, I won’t end up here!’ she clenched her fists, then dared herself to punch Samuel’s face, who was focused on opening the door.
"Ouch.." Samuel immediately held his bleeding nose, unaware that he had released his grip on Daniel. "Fuck you, bitch!"
Valerie seized the opportunity to push Samuel until he fell onto the stairs leading to the basement, then immediately carried Daniel and ran.
"Hey!" Samuel quickly got up. "Don’t go!"
Valerie continued to run, ignoring Samuel’s shouts as she entered the woods, through the grass.
