Return With the Billionaire Baby Daddy-Chapter 141: Punishment for her
"You shouldn’t have to explain in such detail about what has happened," Damian said with a sarcastic look at Hannah. "Look now, Valerie can’t trust you anymore. If only you had said that you were pregnant and had to set Samuel free, maybe she wouldn’t be so angry at you!"
"Sorry, I just wanted to be honest about everything," Hannah replied, her face downcast.
Damian sighed heavily and leaned his head on the pillow, continuing to watch Hannah. Somehow, his feeling of resentment suddenly turned into pity, especially since she was pregnant without the support of the baby’s father, similar to Valerie’s pregnancy when he felt like such a bad father to Daniel.
"Perhaps you regret giving me so much money, and in the end, I freed Samuel with your money..."
"It’s not about the money," Damian interrupted before Hannah could finish her sentence.
Hannah lowered her head again.
"It’s about my disappointment because you were so stupid in making decisions, but I can’t completely blame you because everyone has different thoughts and abilities in facing problems," Damian continued. "At first, I wanted to scold you, even hit you, because my current condition prevents me from paying attention to my wife who is pregnant... This situation makes me feel like a useless husband. But being angry at you is also wrong... And I won’t punish you," he continued.
"It’s okay, you can punish me," Hannah replied with a resigned look.
Damian gave a thin smile. "How can I punish a woman who is fighting for her baby? I’m not that cruel... not at all."
Suddenly, Hans entered the room again, diverting Hannah and Damian’s attention.
"She’s in the obstetrician’s room... And she doesn’t want me to accompany her," Hans said.
"Alright..." Damian said, then turned to look at Hannah. "Now, I’m going to confine you."
Hannah’s heart raced, while Hans widened his eyes.
"Sir, are you sure? Do you want to punish her?" Hans asked, bewildered.
Damian remained silent, shifting his gaze between Hans and Hannah.
"Sir, she’s not guilty, she did it because she felt she needed Samuel and hoped he could change... She had no motive to support Samuel in doing wrong to you," Hans said seriously as if he didn’t want Hannah to be punished. "Please... Don’t be too hard on her because now she’s also shocked by Samuel’s deception... She needs support... Let’s not just think about her mistakes... But think about her baby... The baby is innocent and doesn’t deserve to feel that punishment either," he pleaded with a hopeful look.
Damian gave a thin smile, while they all remained silent with anxiety.
"Well... I’m not insane. I’ll just confine her at home... Maybe in a villa or pavilion near the house... So Samuel won’t have a chance to ask for her help again," he said.
Hannah breathed a sigh of relief.
"She’ll get what she needs... I just don’t want her to be Samuel’s opportunity to be free again." Damian spoke again. "But... She has to try hard to win back my wife’s heart. I don’t want any tension between them... That’s not good..."
"Thank you, Sir... I’ll do my best!" Hannah said enthusiastically.
"Hmm... You can go home now... Ask the maid to give you the key to the pavilion... You can rest there... Do your usual activities, but you’re no longer Daniel’s babysitter."
"Thank you, I’m grateful!"
"Hmm..."
Damian just nodded, then asked Hans to escort Hannah back home.
...
When they arrived at the car, Hans didn’t immediately drive but instead watched Hannah silently, turning her face away. He reached for her hand, realizing she was trembling greatly, her body even cold.
"Hey, don’t be afraid anymore," he said softly.
"I’m trying," Hannah replied, her eyes welling up again. "But... But I can’t forget Valerie’s look... I’ve never seen her so angry at me... I feel guilty and scared, I don’t know how to win her back... I want to be her friend again... But... It feels impossible," she continued, her voice trembling with tears.
"I know you can get close to her again..."
"No, I’m not sure..." Hannah shook her head. "She will think I’m FALSE and selfish now. I can’t imagine living near her, then she’ll look at me with hatred... I feel unworthy of receiving kindness from her husband again..."
"But you have to stay there... To be accountable for your actions," Hans said softly, with a worried look. "After all, where else are you going if not there? Do you want to beg your family to let you return to Arizona, live in that rental, and have no money, no job... You can’t even buy groceries."
Hannah furrowed her brow and turned to Hans, staring at him seriously.
"How do you know that... I have no money, no job, and even can’t buy groceries?" she asked.
Hans immediately released his grip on Hannah’s hand and looked ahead, as if unable to answer.
"A girl came to me, and gave me food and money, are you the one who told her?" Hannah asked.
Hans remained silent.
"Hans..." She immediately grabbed Hans’s arm. "Answer me!"
"Yes, I did it!" Hans said firmly, looking sharply at Hannah who was instantly shocked. "The first time I knew that you had set Samuel free... My heart hurt so much. But I knew you weren’t okay with him... That’s why I am trying to find out about you two... I knew he didn’t come back that night... He left you in trouble!"
Hannah was stunned.
"I wanted to hate you so much but I couldn’t!" Hans turned his face away again, looking ahead. "You disappoint me... You chose to marry him rather than ask for my help... Even though you know I care about you... I was prepared for our first date... I even prepared something special..."
Hannah was in tears again, now overwhelmed by guilt.
"Before... I was so sure you would accept my love, but the truth is... The truth is you chose to marry him instead... You didn’t believe I could bring you happiness..."
"I was pregnant, I was pregnant!" Hannah interrupted, not letting Hans finish his sentence. "I knew my place... I wasn’t worthy of being with you anymore... I’m a stupid and dirty girl! You deserve better..."
"At least you should have told me!"
"I didn’t have the courage!" Hannah exclaimed angrily. "I didn’t dare to tell you... It’s so shameful!"
Hans let out a heavy sigh. "But you admitted it, didn’t you? You can’t keep hiding forever!" he looked at Hannah again, occasionally wiping away her tears.
"Alright... I won’t force you to have the ability like I said... You said I’m not worthy of you, you don’t believe I can handle your problems... Maybe I look stupid!" he said angrily, then drove off. "I’ll just do my duty..."
Hannah was stunned, glancing at Hans who was driving so fast, as if wanting to show his anger. She was afraid but even more afraid to speak up for fear of making him even angrier.
