Return With the Billionaire Baby Daddy-Chapter 159: Damian’s suspicions
At 9.00 p.m., Damian re-entered the room and saw Valerie sitting comfortably on the couch, watching TV while using her stomach as a support for her snacks. He laughed and approached her.
"How can you do that?"
"What?" Valerie asked innocently, continuing to munch on her snack seasoned with red spices.
Damian sat beside her. "Since when did your stomach become a table?" He asked, hugging Valerie’s chubby belly.
Valerie grinned.
"It’s so cute!" Damian exclaimed, briefly kissing her belly before taking the snack. "Don’t eat too much of this kind of food, too much MSG," he said, placing the snack on the table.
Valerie pouted. "You took my life!"
"What? Is that snack your life?"
"Yes, of course. I love it so much and it never fills me up!" Valerie took the snack back and ate it. "Plus, the doctor didn’t forbid me from eating barbecue-flavored snacks... She said it’s not a problem!"
Damian sighed, grabbed the remote control, and switched the channel to a motorcycle racing program.
"Oh, shit, this is what I’ve been waiting for!" He exclaimed excitedly. "Finally, I can watch the race!"
"That’s insane!" Valerie retorted dismissively.
"It’s not insane, honey... it’s about adrenaline."
"But it makes me feel like I’m having a heart attack... I’m worried they’ll fall, and then there’ll be a chain conclusion of crashes..." Valerie got up and walked towards the bed. "I’d rather watch drama on my phone!"
Damian ignored Valerie as she left. Suddenly, the program switched to a commercial, making him realize that his wife had left.
"Honey..."
He quickly approached his wife, who was lying down with a special pillow for pregnant women while playing with her phone, while her snacks were already on the nightstand.
"Are you mad?" He asked.
"No... why would I be mad?" Valerie replied wearily.
Damian took off his black shirt, leaving only gray shorts, then lay down behind Valerie, embracing her exposed pregnant belly as she wore only a red bra and shorts.
"What are you watching?" He asked.
"A typical delivery process," Valerie answered seriously, staring at her phone. "I don’t understand why people can give birth in crowded rooms... Even giving birth naturally," she continued.
Damian watched the video, clearly showing a woman giving birth in a large room, surrounded by children, male doctors, and her husband. Suddenly, he felt horrified and grabbed the phone, turning off the screen.
"That’s terrifying!" He exclaimed.
Valerie looked at her phone on the nightstand, then at Damian, who seemed shocked.
"You should just have a cesarean section," Damian suddenly said.
"Why?"
"Normally childbirth looks terrifying... I’m not sure you’re strong enough." Damian looked at Valerie with concern, imagining her giving birth through her narrow womanhood. "I think it would hurt you a lot... and your... cake will widen... you’ll be in pain!"
Valerie smiled thinly.
"I’ve been practicing yoga... It’ll ease the vaginal childbirth process," she said calmly, then took her phone again. "In fact, I should watch more videos like this to learn the correct way to push."
"No no no!" Damian grabbed the phone again. "I don’t like watching it. It’s terrifying."
Valerie grabbed the phone back.
"You should be brave enough to watch it... To practice so you won’t be scared when accompanying me during childbirth!" Valerie exclaimed firmly, then played the video again. "You have to be brave, don’t you want to be a good father?"
"Yeah... But that doesn’t mean I have to watch other women giving birth."
Damian moved slightly away from Valerie because he couldn’t stand watching the video, until he decided to turn on the AC with the remote control on the nightstand, then played with his phone.
After a while, he felt very bored until suddenly he imagined Karina and Tristan coming back unexpectedly after deciding to settle in Washington. They returned to the city at Karina’s request.
For some reason, he remembered their meeting today, remembering how Karina looked at him.
"Do you think Karina still likes me?" The question suddenly came out of his lips.
"Why do you think that?" Valerie asked without looking at Damian.
"I just find it strange that she came back to this city again. I don’t understand why she has no shame in meeting us again after what she did to separate us," Damian replied anxiously. "She seems shameless... She’s not much different from Clara and Samuel," he continued.
Valerie placed her phone down and turned to Damian with a serious look.
"Why do you think that? Can’t you just let go of those feelings? It could lead to hatred... We should always be kind to anyone so they won’t want to do bad things to us!"
Damian remained silent, thinking about Karina and Tristan who were both good at acting, until his mind focused on their conversation about Fanny.
"I’m still curious, does Fanny want to harm you for her own sake or did someone tell her to?"
"I think someone told her to," Valerie said, moving her pillow aside and embracing Damian. "But who told her? I don’t think I have any enemies other than Samuel..."
"Karina," Damian whispered.
"Why do you accuse her?" Valerie asked.
"Because she’s cunning... she can be a friend but she’s ready to be a troublemaker, even her goal of being a friend is to carry out her actions as a troublemaker," Damian explained, then shifted his position to face Valerie. "Do you remember when she pretended to be sick and made me stay with her? It turns out she set a trap... She said I tried to have sex with her... And almost everyone believed her, including you... Because what she said made sense since we were living together at that time. She seemed to have thought it through well, making me have no way to defend myself..."
Valerie fell silent, furrowing her brow, trying to understand Damian’s words.
"If Tristan hadn’t shown up to give the real testimony now, maybe I’d be her husband and you still couldn’t marry me," Damian said anxiously, looking at Valerie’s beautiful face. "She’s a dangerous woman..."
"But she has changed..."
"Yes... She might seem changed now, but maybe that’s also part of her defense. She doesn’t want people to continue hating her so she admits her mistake and accepts Tristan, but maybe she still harbors resentment towards us," Damian explained with a wary look. "And she might make you have an accident... She doesn’t like seeing you happy with me..."
