Revenge Wears Red Lipstick-Chapter 154: Hospital
Eva finished her schedule as usual. Her busy schedule was about to come to an end before she had to return to Timbelwood.
A few weeks ago, she returned to Lexora for her photoshoots and to monitor Mr. De Rossi, but now, the old man had gone into hiding.
Eva didn’t let his disappearance bother her because she knew he would be caught eventually.
However, now, her plans might have to change again. Katherine was in Lexora, and for the past few days, she hadn’t seen the latter stalking her.
She needed to inform Katherine about their relationship. Although, it might not change anything since they still despise each other. And most importantly, Eva wanted to stay in Lexora longer so she could see Dante often.
The dinner at his house was a week ago, and they’d been having casual meetups since then. Sometimes, he would come pick her up, take her to the movie, or request another dinner at his house which Eva couldn’t turn down.
They’d not done anything extreme yet, but she could feel her body burning with need whenever their fingers grazed each other.
Looking around, Eva waited for Katherine to pop out as usual but she didn’t.
Knowing Katherine well, she was sure the latter must be glaring at her from a dark corner, probably waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
"Are you waiting for me or something?" She heard the voice that sent chills down her spine.
"For a second, I thought you weren’t going to show up."
Katherine shrugged. "What can I say? I’m still a runaway criminal after all. I have to be careful with my steps. And who knows? You might already have people searching for me ready to put me in jail."
Eva had given it a thought. After all, Katherine needed to pay for her crimes.
"I need to tell you something."
Katherine’s eyebrows cocked up at Eva, wondering what the latter could want to say to her.
She didn’t have much time to waste. Marcus would be home soon and she couldn’t let him know that she’d wandered off again.
"What is it?" Katherine questioned, an edge to her tone as she scanned around, hoping this wasn’t Eva’s plan to capture her and torture her later.
Meanwhile, Eva was wondering how she was going to explain to Katherine that they were actually related.
She didn’t plan to do this soon but the truth needed to be told.
She stared at Katherine’s face, right where the faint scar was glued to her skin. Somehow, she still couldn’t believe it.
"This is not the right place... let’s go somewhere else—"
"Do you think I’m foolish?" Katherine demanded with a scoff. "You say whatever you want to say right here. I’m not going anywhere with you."
Eva couldn’t help but roll her eyes at how gullible Katherine was being.
If she wanted to, she could meet Katherine out in person or point a gun at her while threatening her to get in the car. Or worse, she would have a police officer with her all the time who would be ready to take her back to jail. But she didn’t do any of these. Yet, Katherine believed she was going to at some point.
Well, she wasn’t completely wrong.
Eva parted her lips to speak, but she overheard the engine of a car driving towards them.
It was closer.
She turned, only for her to indeed find a car driving towards them with such speed that it was obvious the driver didn’t plan on stopping.
Her life instantly flashed before her eyes. There was no time to think, so Eva did the only thing that came to her mind at that moment.
After achieving his goal, the driver drove off while the people in the street quickly rushed to the two women who were lying almost lifeless on the ground.

At the hospital...
Evangeline was limping with her blood-stained clothes as she urged the nurses to quickly attend to Katherine who was unconscious with several bruises on her body.
"Just attend to her first!" She yelled out of frustration.
She’d managed to survive without much injury but the impact had still left her with a bruised forehead that left blood dripping down her face.
Her dress was stained with Katherine’s when she’d tried to wake the latter up. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
She’d thought the driver was heading towards her to run her over, but she’d been wrong.
The driver had been following Katherine for an unknown reason.
Tears welled up in Eva’s eyes when she saw that Katherine still wasn’t moving. She was indeed deep in an unconscious state.
She’d tried to wake her up but all her effort went in vain.
"Please...." Her tears dropped. "Save her life."
The nurse drove Katherine into the operating room while another nurse took Eva to another room to get her cleaned up.
Somewhere else...
"Please tell me you’re calling because you finally got the job done," Mr. De Rossi said as he pinched his temples in frustration, awaiting the bad news.
"Not this time. I got the target," Jay responded.
A faint smile danced on Mr. De Rossi’s lips. "That’s very good. This should keep that woman busy for the time being."
Jay’s eyebrow furrowed lightly in confusion.
"But I don’t understand something," he started. "Evangeline Montclair was standing right there but you only wanted me to run over Katherine. Mind if I ask why?"
The smile on Mr. De Rossi’s lips only stretched further toward his cheeks.
After the last scenario when Jay had shot Dante instead of Eva, he’d made some investigation only to find out that Eva already found out that Katherine was her long-lost sister.
Keeping Eva distracted from him was his main goal. And what other way to do it than this?
Due to their past altercations, Eva would be conflicted with her emotions towards Katherine, leaving him out of the radar for the time being before he makes his strike.
"Let’s just say I’m slowly preparing her for the worst things she’ll experience," he responded, a red glint passing his eyes as he laughed like a maniac.
