Chapter 165: He is Gay

"Hope I wasn’t late for the party?" Dante asked, making eye contact with Donnero.

Chills ran down Donnero’s spine as soon as he made eye contact with Dante. He didn’t expect Dante to show up at his brothel with his men. No one needed to tell him for him to know that Dante’s presence in his brothel wasn’t good news.

"Dante," he called, his throat tight with fear.

"I got information that you’ve been running a brothel here, Donnero, under my nose, in my very own city," Dante said as he scanned the place once again.

The performers had all stopped and were standing on the stage, fear written all over their faces. The audience was all staring at him, some already sweating buckets from having recognized him, and then some who just wished to vanish from here with their reputation intact.

"I didn’t expect you to have such important people pay for your services, Donnero."

Donnero’s lips twitched.

Dante was the last person he needed at his brothel. He was a well-known man in the underworld, but compared to Dante, he was simply a student.

With Dante’s power, he could be wiped off the face of the earth if the latter wanted to.

"Dante..."

"What? Can’t you talk anymore?" Dante snapped, his tone harsh and cold. "What would happen if I told your father about this? I don’t think he would be very pleased that you opened a brothel in Lexora and not only that..." His gaze landed on Rico who still wore a shocked look at seeing his presence there. "You paid off Rico’s debt just to have him work here as one of your entertainers."

Donnero gulped his saliva, his lips thinned.

"What are you doing here, Dante?" Rico finally managed to ask.

Dante sighed. "A little friend informed me of the situation you were in," he responded, briefly sharing eye contact with Ryan. "Why didn’t you tell me this bastard was making you do these horrible things?"

"You had your own issues with Eva and your father. I didn’t want to—"

"If it wasn’t for one thing, I would beat you up right now," Dante cut him off.

Rico had been his friend since they were children. They’d attended the same school and because of Rico’s soft features, he’d been bullied nonstop until Dante had to interfere.

Rico didn’t say anything. Instead, he smiled, glad that Dante was present.

Ryan made eye contact with Dante.

For the past few days, he’d made his inquiry about Donnero Lockwood. He was the son of a powerful underboss in another city.

Apparently, Donnero, together with Dante and Rico had attended the same school and Donnero was the leader of the bullies that tormented Rico.

Ryan couldn’t handle him alone so he went to Dante. Thankfully, he didn’t need to do too much explanation for Dante to understand the situation.

"I don’t think I need to say much anymore," Dante started. "The loan you lent to Mr. Reed will be paid back to you immediately. Rico will no longer work for you as an entertainer, and as for your brothel..." Dante glanced around again, his face etched with contempt. "You might as well just forget it."

"I built this place from scratch," Donnero snapped, his eyes darkening.

"Then you wouldn’t mind me telling your father what you’ve been up to, right?" Dante threatened.

Donnero’s lips thinned. His father was the last person he wanted involved in his business.

"Judging from your silence, I don’t think you want that. Wrap it up," Dante ordered his men and immediately, the audience was kicked out.

Not long after, a bunch of men wearing a completely different uniform with weapons in their arms stormed into the brothel.

When Donnero’s gaze landed on them, he froze.

"You already informed my father?" He questioned Dante.

"Oops."

"Sir, your father instructed us to bring you back home." One of the men who looked slightly older and more intimidating among them said, his tone leaving no room for argument.

"Who knew the so-called Donnero Lockwood would be so scared of his father," Ryan whispered, loud enough for Donnero to hear him.

The latter glared at him, but Ryan continued to smile.

When Donnero didn’t move, the leader of the armed men gestured for them to take him away while he struggled to free himself from their strong grip. And just like that, Donnero was dragged away screaming.

The brothel was empty now with only the entertainers present, their eyes filled with confusion.

"All of you are free to go but before that, money will be wired into your accounts so you can start something new for yourselves," Dante announced.

Immediately, their faces bloomed with smiles.

Dante got up from his seat. "Since that’s over and done with, I have something to get done," he said, lightly patting the small box in his pockets.

"It’s a good thing you came around. I thought you were going to be a jerk," said Ryan.

"You’d better watch your mouth. The only reason you’re still alive is because you’re important to Eva..." Then he paused, his gaze landed on Rico’s and Ryan’s intertwined hands.

His eyes nearly bulged right out of their sockets due to how widened it was.

"You’re..." He choked on his saliva before he could even complete his sentence.

"What? You didn’t know?" Ryan questioned back.

Dante took a step back as he remembered all the times Ryan and Eva had gotten so close that he dreamed of ways he would end Ryan’s life. All for him to find out that Ryan wasn’t even straight to begin with.

Ryan patted Dante on the shoulder, a smirk on his lips.

"Eva is like a sister to me. I would never fall in love with my sister," he explained. "Even after what you did, I still think you’re the right person for her."

"Get your hands off of me."

Dante checked the time. "I need to run now." Then he glanced between Rico and Ryan, an image escaping into his mind. "Fuck this." Then he strode out of the door with his men following right behind him.
