Damien saw how he was going to get struck by such a huge bony arm. He gathered all the energy he could to maneuver himself out of the way, but…

*THWAK!*

"Urgh!"

One of the arms of the Abominable Fiend barely struck Damien, and he was sent flying like a kite for hundreds of meters with blood gushing out of his mouth.

His ribs had been fractured, and the impact had shaken his internal organs, causing a lot of internal injuries.

He only got barely hit, but that was enough to almost incapacitate him. He even felt the brain in his skull shake for a while and felt dizzy for a while.

However, fortunately, he was sent flying in the direction of the secret gate, and right when Damien was close to reaching it, he hoped the gate would open so that he would go right through it.

"Damien!" Lily inwardly shouted as she saw Damien disappear into thin air. She already felt her heart fall upon seeing Damien getting struck by the Abominable Fiend.

It was only due to the soul connection she had to him she was a bit relieved, knowing he was still alive but not in good condition.

"Don't worry. Let's join him on the other side," Reva placed her hand on Lily's shoulder as she saw the Abominable Fiend disappearing into thin air as well after leaping to follow its prey.

Yuria was already flying ahead as the two immediately followed her. Lily had her heart thumping in tension, not knowing if Damien would be alright and what the world on the other side would be like.

Meanwhile, Damien felt as if his body was being stretched and contracted for a split-second before he found himself falling on a ashen ground as the smell of putrid air wafted through his nostrils.

"What the…" Damien was barely conscious, but even the air around him smelt unpleasant, he found it quite enriching and comfortable. His tough body had already begun to heal faster than usual, and he could feel himself getting better.

But what dismayed him was that he couldn't see Valentina or anybody around him. All he could see was a wasteland of decrepit buildings, ravaged by time and trauma.

There were a lot of grass and trees around him, but all of them didn't have the green color he expected to see but instead had a dark gray color while the skies were filled with dark clouds.

He spat out some blood as he crawled through the grass and tried to get up to find Valentina. He couldn't even feel where she was through the soul link they shared, which meant that she was quite far away from him. But he could feel that she was at least alive, which was the only source of relief for him.

He wondered if the gate teleported her to a different exit compared to his, and maybe the Abominable Fiend might have also got teleported to a different location which would be the best scenario.

He turned himself around, expecting to see Lily, Reva, and Yuria but what came out of thin air was…

*KREEEEE!!!*

The Abominable Fiend leaped out of thin air, much to Damien's dismay.

His body had healed enough for him to at least use his legs to get up and fly off. But right before he could take off into the air, one of the rope-like extensions extending from the Abominable Fiend's body wrapped around Damien's legs and thrashed him to the ground.

"Argh!" The ground cracked as Damien's back heavily smashed against the ground, making him cough out blood involuntarily.

The force of the impact made him feel like he lost control of his entire body for a while, unable to even move his limbs properly.

He felt as if his spine sustained some fractures and could see the Abominable Fiend greedily looking at him with its grotesque black eyes, wanting to gobble him up.

"You cocky idiot! Don't you let some ugly monster fuck you up like this!" Luna shouted as her voice filled his mind.

"Fuck this!" Damien gritted his teeth as he forced his arm to move downward and grabbed the rope-like extension of the Abominable Fiend.

"Burn in hell, motherfucker!" Damien said with a bloody smile as his body began to get hotter, and the next moment golden white flames burst forth from his hand, which was holding the rope-like extension.

The flames were barely as big as a tennis ball, but the moment they touched the Abominable Fiend's body, it was like fire and oil.

It immediately spread across the Abominable Fiend's body as if the flames lashed out at it.

*KREEEEEEEEE!!!!* The Abominable Fiend unconsciously let go of Damien as it stumbled back, screeching in indescribable pain and horror as the brilliant golden white flames were eating up its skin slowly but tenaciously enough to cause pain it had never known before.

The more it tried to use the black mist it was producing using its body to get rid of these horrifying flames, the more the golden white flames got powerful.

"Heh…how does it feel now, you ugly fuck…" Damien chuckled with a relieved look, astonished to see that his Heavenly Flames were so damn powerful. He didn't expect it to really affect the Abominable Fiend this much.

But when he felt the smell of his flesh burning, he looked at his hand and was horrified to see that the Heavenly Fire was eating up his own hand too and had spread over to his entire arm!

"Urgh! Fuck!" Damien grimaced in agony as he tried to control it from spreading even more. But it was not only eating up his arm, but his entire body felt like it was burning from within.

He withdrew all the Anti-God energy and activated only his ice ethereal seed to cool down the flames, and fortunately, the flames began to die out very slowly despite using a lot of icy ethereal energy.

And after what seemed like an eternity, the heavenly flames finally died, and he was aghast to see even the bones in his charred arm. His vision was already blurry and…

*KREEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!* The Abominable Fiend was still howling as its screeches echoed throughout the entire region and spread far and beyond. But its howls died out as it succumbed to the ground.

Damien let out a sigh of relief, seeing that it probably died while the heavenly flames were still burning on its body with full vigor.

But he wasn't in good condition himself. Apparently, the heavenly flames were making it very difficult for his body to heal, especially the damage he suffered to his organs. He also realized that to produce just a small flame of the Heavenly Flames exhausted every drop of ethereal energy he had.

And as if that wasn't enough, he felt some vibrations passing underneath the earth, and when he turned his neck around languidly, his eyes widened in shock and disbelief.
