"The Death Ray? That is what Mira was supposed to retrieve?" Damien asked as his aunt revealed to him what kind of mission she had sent Mira to complete.

"Not retrieve but more like destroy it before anyone else can get their hands on it. The problem is because it is an ancient weapon, and Mira managed to retrieve a part of the map that could lead to it," Akira said with a subtle heavy expression.

"There is no need to worry, Master. I destroyed the map after memorizing it. And without the complete map, nobody can ever find it," Mira said confidently.

"Wait. What is this weapon exactly? And why destroy it if it is so powerful?" Damien curiously asked.

Akira looked at him with a serious expression and answered, "This is no ordinary weapon...but a weapon made by humans of the ancient past to kill us."

"Eh...You mean..."

"According to our history, we were sent to this world by the Fallen Godqueen, our divine creator, as a means to give us the chance to survive. This happened around 250,000 years ago. But our ancestors realized the harsh reality that we and the humans can never live under the same sky. It was either them or us. The humans had the upper hand at first since they were very powerful in those times, and our numbers were less. They were all part of the Golden Light Sovereignty," Akira explained and caressed the steel of the blades near her as she continued,

"Only with the collapse of the Golden Light Sovereignty did we come to power, and from there on, it only became easier to suppress the humans. But...there was something the humans at that time had, which was the only thing that our ancestors feared...the Death Ray," Her eyes narrowed as she added, "Only because of that the humans had the upper hand for a while before the Six Ancient Fiends managed to overwhelm the humans and brought them to their knees."

"The Six Ancient Fiends?" Damien asked while feeling surprised after hearing the history of the Old World. Just as he guessed, it seemed like a divine entity was the reason ghouls came to power in this world. But why? And was this Golden Light Sovereignty the authority that governed the beautiful and glorious city which Anton Vahn had shown to him?

"We worship the Fallen Godqueen as our creator, but we know that the Six Ancient Fiends were the strongest among the ones who led to the birth of our Ghoul race and us. It is said that The Fallen Godqueen had sent the Six Ancient Fiends to find a means of finding a way to survival, and they succeeded in that mission. This is why even to this day, we respect Fiends even though they are just wild beasts and nowhere near as powerful or intelligent as the Six Ancient Fiends," Akira said with a hint of respect in her eyes while Mira closed her eyes briefly to pay respects to her ancestors.

Damien observed these two and felt that the ghouls must have great respect for these Six Ancient Fiends and were even more curious about this Fallen Godqueen.

"Kalypso, have you ever heard of this divine being?" Damien asked, hoping Kalypso might remember something.

Kalypso was deep in thought, especially after hearing Akira explain the history of this world, "It is so strange. Even if my memories are incomplete, I don't even feel any sort of familiarity with the name Fallen Godqueen. I am sorry, Master. It seems like I am useless even when it concerns things related to my universe."

"Don't think too much about it. It's just I thought Anti-God was supposed to be their creator. Maybe I can try asking her," Damien thought and asked Akira,

"Aunt, does the name 'Anti-God' ring any bells?"

Mira squinted her eyes and looked at Damien's back, wondering where he came up with that strange title.

Akira had a confused look as she asked, "Anti-God? Who is that? Where did you hear that name from?"

"Whoa, they don't even know him. How weird..." Damien mumbled to Kalypso, who also felt shocked since both of them knew Anti-God was the true progenitor of the Nethereal Dimension.

"Weird indeed. But don't be too surprised. Who knows how many countless centuries must have passed after my battle with him. It might only be natural they don't know him," Luna chimed in with a look of contemplation and then added with a strange glint in her eyes, "But it seems like somebody else had picked up his mantle."

Damien casually shook his head and said, "It's nothing. I just heard some tribe mentioning it when I came here. But are you guys familiar with the name 'Anton Vahn'?"

"You know that bastard's name?" Mira's sharp voice echoed in the hall.

"I am not surprised you know that name. But he is an infamous character not only among us but even among his own race. They consider him a cowardly figure who abandoned his people and ran away to the Land of Salvation, as they call it, to save himself and a few of his people. He even built a barrier that prevented any human or ghoul from entering it. You know that place as the Rising Sun Continent," Akira said as she looked at him.

Damien didn't expect the legendary figure the powerhouses of the Rising Sun Continent revered to be considered as a coward by the people of the Old Word.

But he felt that what Anton Vahn did was smart even though it might seem cowardly.

"And why do you guys hate him other than the fact that he was a human?"

Mira snorted and said, "Because he was the one who started all the nuisance by hiding away the Death Ray before we could destroy it. He was one of its creators who tried to plague our ancestors with his toys."

'He must have been a great formations and weapons expert,' Damien mused since he could see that these ghouls greatly feared the weapon called Death Ray.

"But why seek to destroy such a powerful weapon when you people can use it?" Damien asked with a shrug.
