Chapter 294: Chapter 294. Unmasked

While the pressure points technique and the meridian points technique had similar abilities to disable the opponent, they had one key difference. The pressure points technique required one to remain in contact with the target. Once the pressure was released, the effect was gone.

The meridian points technique was different. It required more time and insane precision to execute, but once the sequence was completed, the effect remained even when contact was released. The length of time the effect persisted depended on the difference of power between the executor and the target.

In Amon and Hu Ti’s case, the effect should last only a minute. But in that one minute, Hu Ti had only one arm to use.

"Attack!" Amon commanded.

Lu Fei, Yang Li, and Wu Lang advanced upon the command. Lu Fei arrived first, thanks to his First Light at Dawn. Before that, he threw his metal fan. The fan doubled back and came at Hu Ti from the opposite side of Lu Fei.

Lu Fei’s speed prevented Hu Ti from dodging. He had to block. With only one arm, he could only block one attack. He chose to block Lu Fei’s direct kick. His metal palm collided with Lu Fei and blew the guy away. The metal fan struck his back. His iron skin managed to mitigate the damage to only a nick.

Amon also threw his flying knives. Hu Ti jumped to the side as the knives came. Same as Dao Se, he failed to dodge several knives. But different than Dao Se, these knives failed to penetrate his defense due to his iron skin.

Yang Li and Wu Lang came then, repeating the combination assault of fire breath and barbed whip. The fiery whip kept changing directions as it lashed. With only one arm, Hu Ti couldn’t follow the random changes. The fiery whip finally struck his side.

Hu Ti’s iron skin defended against the blunt force of the whip but not the flames. He felt searing pain as the fire burned his skin.

"Bastard!" He cursed. He used Star Absorbing Tide again. Yang Li was using her body to block Wu Lang, so she was the one getting pulled.

Hu Ti channeled all his energy into his metal palm. The palm shone brightly as he shoved it forward. He was determined to kill at least one opponent.

Yang Li didn’t show any frightened expression. She also thrust her claw forward. The image of a ghostly face engulfed in flames was visible on her claw. This was the Ghost Bone Claw. Her mastery was not yet at Lu Zu’s level, where the ghostly energy could turn into a range attack. However, her S-affinity gave the art a power that almost rivaled Lu Zu when he executed it.

The palm and claw collided, resulting in a shockwave of flame and golden light. Yang Li flew away from the impact. She vomited blood as she did, but Hu Ti also couldn’t resist backstepping multiple times.

The ground again shook at this time. Amon’s Earth Pulse caused Hu Ti to lose all balance. While Hu Ti lost control of his body, Lu Fei returned using the First Light at Dawn. The white light crashed into Hu Ti’s back with incredible speed. The sound of bone cracking was heard. Hu Ti slammed into the ground from the powerful kick. His body dragged along the ground for almost ten meters before stopping.

"Huck...!" He vomited blood. The kick just now broke several of his bones.

Wu Lang used his entangling vines. They grew from the ground Hu Ti was lying on and bound him. Lu Fei came and pressed the bladed end of his metal fan on Hu Ti’s neck.

On the other side, Xin Wuming was pressing Dao Se’s down with Qiang Dan’s glaive on his neck. The Fragile Bone Muscle Poison had seeped deep enough to render him powerless.

"Everyone, stop fighting...!!" Amon shouted.

The Demon Gang complied with his order. They all stopped attacking and jumped away from their opponents. The Alley Advocates and Sewer Snakes members who saw the state of their leaders also stopped. Those further away charged at the retreating Demon Gang members because they were oblivious to what had happened.

"Alley Advocates and Sewer Snakes! Stop now, or I will kill your leaders...!!!"

This second shout finally caught their attention. They turned to the center of the field where the round table used to be. They had a hard time believing what they saw. Hu Ti and Dao Se were untouchable existences in their minds. Seeing them reduced to such a humiliating state was mind-blowing.

Gao Lan was one such person. She admired Dao Se because he was capable, resourceful, and unafraid to fight the tide for the sake of realizing his dream. It was difficult for her to witness Dao Se’s current defeat. Amon’s second yell about threatening to take Dao Se’s life snapped her out of her trance.

"Stay back!" She shouted at their members.

Hu Ti’s aide gave the same order. Everyone finally stood down.

"If you want to kill me, just do it. I don’t accept getting humiliated like this," Hu Ti said.

Amon sniggered. Whether Hu Ti accepted it or not, the humiliation was already done.

"If all I want is to kill you, I could have chosen a way with less risk and cost," Amon answered Hu Ti.

This was true. Amon could have used ploys to take either Hu Ti or Dao Se out, just like how he slew Liu Lang. Hu Ti and Dao Se might have more protective details, but they would eventually fall into an unfavorable situation if Amon put his mind to it.

Amon could also use ploys to bring Alley Advocates and Sewer Snakes into a conflict. The two were not the best of friends, after all. They went into an alliance for a common goal and the promise of shared benefits. It was easy for Amon to distort that goal and mislead them into thinking the benefits were only enough for one party.

All in all, Amon had many ways to deal with the situation. Yet, he chose a way that was the most direct. The reason was that he wanted to fulfill his promise to Xian Yang. He was not here to eliminate the other two underworld organizations. He was here to gain their respect, and there was only one way to gain respect in the underworld. That was to pummel the other side until they didn’t dare to fuck with you anymore.

If Amon only used ploys to defeat the Alley Advocates and Sewer Snakes, they would think that was all the extent of the Demon Gang’s capability. Even if the Demon Gang conquered the underworld because of it, they would be known as a group that only dared to stab their enemies in the back. By showing that they could defeat their opponents even in a direct confrontation, this told everyone in the underworld that whether you came at the Demon Gang from the front or the back, you would get fucked.

"What do you want if not our lives?" Dao Se asked Amon.

"How many days do your people need to leave my territory, and how much are you two going to pay for compensation?" Amon repeated his earlier question.

Unlike that first time, no one found his question amusing anymore. On the contrary, Hu Ti gritted his teeth. As unbelievable as it was, the fact that they were defeated started to sink in. He couldn’t wrap his mind around how this happened.

"Scrap the first question," Amon said when they didn’t answer. "I can answer it myself. Your people will leave by tonight. If not, we will run them out ourselves. As for the second question, you two must give me a good answer. Otherwise, I will cut your arms that wore the space rings. I will keep your arms and space rings as compensation."

"Don’t get overboard, Lin Mo!" Dao Se exclaimed.

"Lin mo...?" Hu Ti asked.

"Hmph, I should have known you are a sore loser," Amon harrumphed. He took off his mask. "That’s right. I am Lin Mo, a junior student of the Royal Academy and the leader of the Demon Gang."

Everyone in the Alley Advocates and most in the Sewer Snakes were astounded to learn Amon’s identity. Even some in the Demon Gang were not privy to this information. They were also surprised.

"Hah! Royal Academy students are respectable cultivators. What will your peers think of you if they know you muddle yourself in the underworld business?" Hu Ti laughed.

"I don’t care what they think, and that is not what you should be worried about," Amon said. "I will count to three. If you are unwilling to negotiate, I will just take your arms like I said."

"Hold!" Hu Ti shouted. "Are you going to let us go after we agree to your terms?"

"Of course. Why do you think I waste my time asking if not? Isn’t it better to just finish you all here and be done with it? But that’s not what I want. I don’t intend to take over the underworld for myself. It is enough for me to maintain the current balance. You stay in your territory. I stay in mine. We don’t bother each other. Does that sound good?"
