Rise of The Demon General-Chapter 313. Lin Clan’s Bane

A loud murmur sounded from the crowd who followed the kingdom army to Lin Clan Estate. As for the Lin Clan members, they were shocked and turned silent after hearing Lin Bang’s words.

Lin Bubai broke the silence first. "What the hell are you saying, Lin Bang? That is not true...!!!"

Lin Weida told Pu Zhang, "Senior minister, there must have been a misunderstanding. Let us get to the bottom of this!"

"There is no need to deny, Clan Master Lin Weida," Wei Suangsou said. "We have seen multiple suspicious individuals coming and going from your estate. We have captured these individuals, who were proven to be part of the rebels’ network."

"This... This is slander!" Lin Weida exclaimed. "There are no such things!"

"It’s too late to deny it! We have already presented all the evidence to the royal court! The crown prince himself had signed the decree for the eradication of the Lin Clan as part of the rebel’s network. There is nothing you can do to get out of this."

"You...! You have conspired to bring about this lie!" Lin Weida exclaimed.

"Take it however you want. Lin Clan’s fate is sealed," Wei Suangsou said.

Lin Weida was so furious he couldn’t speak. He wanted to lunge forward to tear the despicable Wei Suangsou to pieces, but Jiang Bo stood between them.

"Explaining to you why this happens can already be considered giving you face," Pu Zhang lifted his arm. It was a signal for the army that encircled the place. "Have solace of knowing the reasons you go to your grave and have comfort that you go there with your family."

The sky was soon filled with arrows. The arrows came from all over. They were shot by the troops surrounding the place. The arrows were so many they almost covered the sky above.

"Defend...!!!" Lin Weida commanded when the arrows were almost upon them.

Some Lin Clan members were still so bewildered by the situation they only watched as the arrows came at them. Their minds were having a hard time believing this was truly happening. Lin Weida’s yell snapped them out of their stupor. They immediately used their arts to face the incoming arrows.

Multiple elemental energies were released. They clashed with the incoming arrows. Most arrows were destroyed or deflected, but some slipped past. These arrows were also powered by martial and arcane arts. They were not simple arrow barrages.

The arrows that slipped through stabbed into the poor members who happened to be in their paths. Some were wounded. Some died because the arrows hit their vital parts. Cries of pain and shock filled the Lin Clan members. Lin Weida listened to those cries with a despairing heart.

To make matters worse, a second barrage of arrows filled the sky.

"Bastard! If you want to massacre us, then don’t blame us for fighting back!" Lin Weida exclaimed. "Lin Clan! Kill these bastards who desire to exterminate us...!!!"

His body shot into the sky. He released a powerful shockwave that whacked one-fifth of the arrows out of their flight paths.

"Kill...!!!" Lin Bubai echoed his father’s shout. The rest of the Lin Clan members also roared. If they just stood and did nothing, it was no different than an execution. This was now a battle for survival.

Some jumped up and knocked the arrows away as Lin Weida did. Some ran to the outer perimeter to engage the soldiers who fired the arrows.

"Hehe... This is more like it," Jiang Bo uttered. He shot up into the sky with a thundering shout, "Clan master, let me be the one who escorts you to your grave!"

Jiang Bo’s giant hammer glowed again. With a swing, a massive energy wave headed toward Lin Weida.

A long sword appeared in Lin Weida’s hand. Lin Weida thrust the sword. A blue straight light shot forward following the thrust. The blue light collided with Jiang Bo’s hammer. The collision resulted in a powerful explosion that threw both parties back.

When Lin Weida stopped his backward momentum, a water layer coated his body. This water layer burst with a big splash as he shot back at Jiang Bo. The split water coalesced into multiple human-sized bodies. All displayed similar features to Lin Weida.

Lin Weida rushed forward with his water clones. His water clones moved even faster than him. They zoomed around in zig-zag patterns as they approached Jiang Bo.

"Hahaha! Not bad for a clan master," Jiang Bo laughed. He didn’t feel intimidated in the slightest.

The air around Jiang Bo shimmered. Lin Weida felt the earth pulling him again. While his cultivation level made this pull affect him only slightly, his water clones were more affected. Their absurd speed slowed to a crawl. This was because the pull contained the earth element that trumped the water element of the clones.

While the water clones slowed, Jiang Bo’s seemingly heavy hammer flashed as if it were weightless. The flash of his hammer went in a zig-zag pattern, smashing all the water clones that were slowed. Each water clone was crushed with a splat. The flash of Jiang Bo’s hammer didn’t stop. It continued toward Lin Weida.

Unlike his water clones, Lin Weida’s speed wasn’t affected as much. He turned into another water clone when the hammer came smashing, but his real body had zoomed elsewhere.

He thrust his sword, which conjured multiple piercing swordlights. Jiang Bo spun after his hammer failed to hit Lin Weida. The spun conjured a hurricane of force that blocked all the swordlights.

Lin Weida pushed on his offensive by thrusting his finger. Water vapor shot out of his finger. These water vapors turned into countless water needles as they advanced. The water needles were thin enough to slip through the hurricane formed by Jiang Bo’s hammer.

However, before the water needles could stab Jiang Bo’s body, a sphere with intense gravitational force erupted from his body. The water needles were as if hitting a solid wall. They splattered under the intense gravity.

Realizing his water arcane arts were useless, Lin Weida resigned to only using his martial arts. His sword stabbed and slashed at high speed. Jiang Bo went into defense when faced with these high-speed attacks.

Lin Weida wanted to keep the major general in a defensive state but felt an incoming attack from behind. He turned just in time to block a gigantic metal saber. The clash threw the ambusher away, who was revealed to be Wei Suangsou.

"Bastard!" Lin Weida cursed. Wei Suangsou’s cultivation was weaker than his. But with his fighting Jiang Bo, Wei Suangsou’s interference caused extreme disadvantage.

Jiang Bo himself didn’t seem to mind the help. He laughed, "Hahaha! Good, Master Wei, let’s do this together so we can wrap this up fast."

Fighting two Spirit Stage opponents put Lin Weida into a passive state. He could only defend. When his attention was fully on his two opponents, an arrow slipped past and struck his shoulder.

"Arghh...!!" Lin Weida screamed from the pain.

The arrow came from the bow of another kingdom officer who seemed to be at the Spirit Stage since he could fly.

"Good work, Senior Colonel Liu Xun!" Jiang Bo complimented the kingdom officer armed with the bow and arrow.

He zoomed above Lin Weida when the clan master was distracted by pain. His hammer again conjured a massive force as it was brought down. Lin Weida couldn’t dodge this blow due to the distraction. He used his sword to block the blow. The blow was so hard it sent him shooting toward the ground.

He exerted his power to stop himself from hitting the ground. He floated around ten meters above the ground. His sword was cracked from the blow. However, it was not the sight of his sword cracking that sank his heart. It was the sight of his clan members fighting on the ground.

They were severely outnumbered by the kingdom soldiers. Kingdom soldiers also generally possessed better equipment. The power gap was too vast. Lin Weida froze as he watched his clan members getting butchered.

He saw his son Lin Bubai leading their clan members to fight Wei Linkun, who was aided by the kingdom soldiers and several civilian-clothed cultivators not of the Wei Clan. He didn’t know these civilian-clothed cultivators were members of the Yan Clan. Yan Clan joined this operation because they, too, wanted to enact vengeance on Amon by wiping out his clan.

Among the Yan Clan members who joined this operation was Yan Dose. He was laughing as he slew the younger members of the Lin Clan. "Hahaha! Serve you right! If you want anyone to blame, blame Lin Mo for this!!"

"Lin... Lin Mo...?" Lin Weida uttered. He was confused when he heard this, but understanding dawned on him soon. Lin Mo must have done something that angered this unknown clan, the Wei Clan, and even the kingdom officials. The anger was so much that it was turned toward his Lin Clan.

Lin Weida sighed heavily. It turned out Lin Mo was their bane, after all.

He was not allowed much time to think because Jiang Bo and Wei Suangsou were already upon him again.

"Give it up, clan master!" Jiang Bo exclaimed. "Today, the Lin Clan will be wiped out from existence!!"
