Chapter 758: Chapter 758. Full-powered Yuka

Just before Amon arrived at Cruel Consecrate City, he consumed another Aetherium Fruit. This latest consumption helped propel his divine cultivation to the Intermediate Lord Stage.

He figured if he went all out with his current power, he could be on par with Mu Qin or even defeat her. He couldn’t put that theory to the test, but he had another way to test his advancement.

He entered Yuka’s prison box and went into the cell where Yuka was located.

Yuka brightened up when she saw Amon. She asked, "Are you bringing me another snack?"

"No, but I come with a proposition."

Yuka was intrigued upon hearing that. "Oh? What proposition?"

"I will grant you your freedom."

Yuka’s condescending smile froze. It was soon replaced with a hideous grin. "I don’t mind you toying with me, but teasing me with freedom, now that is cruel. You truly don’t need to keep giving me motivation to tear you apart once I’m free. I assure you that will be the first thing I do once I’m out of this blasted place."

"I’m not teasing you," Amon said. His face didn’t show any concern about Yuka’s threat. "I also never said I am granting you your freedom right this moment. I said I will. That comes with conditions, of course. If you fulfil this condition, I will grant you freedom much earlier than if you wait out the energy of this place to deplete. Furthermore, if I want, I can find specialists to refill this place’s energy. You can forget about ever leaving then."

Yuka’s face darkened. "You are bluffing."

"I’m not. You might not be aware, but we are in the demon realm now. The specialists and resources available here are different from those in Aetheria. If you don’t believe me, then defy me. See what will happen."

Yuka stared at Amon in silence. Although their meetings were always brief, they had known each other for a long time. She had a feeling Amon was telling the truth.

"Tch, bastard. What are your conditions?"

Amon gave her three fingers. "Fulfill my three requests. Once you do, I will free you."

"Spell them out."

"First request. Fight me with all your might."

While saying that, Amon worked on the control panel. The diagram under the floor transformed. The energy field that served as Yuka’s prison expanded. Its circumference almost reached where the control panel was. The energy field condensed at the edge. The condensed energy became a barrier. In return, the energy field at the center disappeared, and so did the glowing chain that was attached to Yuka. She could feel all the pressure restricting her was gone. For the first time in so long, she felt free.

She almost lost herself in the sensation. She nearly charged forward, but the sight of the condensed energy field at the edge dissuaded her. He wouldn’t be able to break through that barrier in a short time. Amon could reset the energy field to impede her again, so she stayed where she was.

The giant battle puppet that served as her warden retreated outside the barrier under Amon’s command. The battle puppet stood before the control panel. Even if Yuka’s power could somehow punch through the barrier, the battle puppet would protect the control panel.

Yuka was still enjoying the feeling of having his body pressure-free. She didn’t remember how long it had been since she felt this way. She was so absorbed in it that she only realized it when Amon already stepped through the barrier.

She stared at Amon in disbelief. "Wait a minute... Are you serious? You truly want me to fight you with my true power?"

"I do," Amon answered. "A Zuanze Butterfly was regarded as among the peak of the Higher Mythical Beasts. Even Peak Lord Stage cultivators could easily lose their lives to your kind if they are not careful. Only the strongest of the Peak Lord Stage could hope to match your power. I want to test if I already have the capacity to be at that level."

"What a funny little man you are," Yuka mocked. "You yourself said that only the best Peak Lord Stage cultivator could hope to survive against my kind, and here you are, only an Intermediate Lord Stage, but you want to challenge me?"

"I do."

"Once I act, you might not have the chance to state your two other requests anymore."

"If that happens, then you can take your time to break through this barrier."

Once Amon mentioned that, Yuka realized this was a good opportunity. She saw the path to her freedom without having to capitulate to Amon’s requests. She no longer hesitated. She grinned and uttered savagely, "I will truly enjoy tearing you apart and devouring you to your bones."

She spread her large wings. As she did, the entire room darkened to pitch black. It was her dark domain that consumed all light. However, the power of her current domain was completely different from when she was suppressed by the prison field. The current darkness not only blinded those inside its domain, but it also suppressed them. Anyone inside would feel like they were submerged in a sea of mud. Not only that, but the darkness also affected their psyche. Negative emotions assailed them, stripping them of hope. They would feel so demoralized that they had no will to fight back.

Yuka smiled in the darkness. Within this domain, she was the ultimate ruler. She could know the enemy’s position while the enemy lost their senses, mobility, and willpower. She was savoring the moment as she floated toward Amon slowly, but then she lost Amon.

"Huh?" She was baffled. When an enemy was inside her domain, she would always be aware of their presence. She didn’t understand why she could lose Amon. Did he escape outside her domain? No, he vanished abruptly. She didn’t sense him moving away.

While she was confused, she felt a strong impact on her back.

"Rargghh...!" She swung her lower body tentacles at the assailant behind her, but hit nothing. She then suffered another impact on her face. She tried retaliating, but hit nothing again. Another impact struck her from the opposite side. This continued to repeat.

"Impossible!" She exclaimed. Even if Amon could somehow hide his presence in this darkness, she should also be hidden from him. They should be equally blind. She didn’t understand how Amon could detect her presence so accurately.

She remembered then. When she first met Amon, he could also detect her inside the darkness. That’s how he had managed to survive during that first encounter.

As for Amon’s hiding his presence, this was thanks to his Elder God Veil. He never realized this art’s other advantage until he arrived in the lower realm. This was because no one in Aetheria used the darkness elements. In this realm, he had fought several opponents with darkness elements during his missions. He learned then that his Elder God Veil had immunity against the darkness element, providing the power gap between him and the darkness element user wasn’t too wide.

Hence, Yuka’s light-devouring darkness couldn’t affect him. It also blocked the sensing power of the domain that informed Yuka of Amon’s position.

She finally accepted this fact with great reluctance and canceled her darkness domain. The room was visible again, and so was Amon. He was covered in dark shadow and had four long tentacles sprouting from his back.

The four tentacles showed that Amon’s mastery of the Elder God Veil had improved again. His mastery was now at the Expert level. It was, as Yao Ai said, since this art was created by him, his chance of mastering it was better. The availability of the instruction books regarding the darkness elements in this realm also greatly contributed to his advancement.

Yuka eyed Amon with wariness. She had known Amon’s unnatural cultivation speed, but she had to admit now that his talent was not limited to cultivation alone. Nevertheless, she was unwilling to admit that he was an equal to her. Not when she could use her full power.

The two large eyes on her wing brightened up. It then exploded in a white flare.

When Yuka’s wing-eyes brightened, Amon found that his movement had stopped involuntarily. When the flare erupted, he felt an intense light energy wash over him. The light energy burned his shadow suit. He could feel the outer part of his shadow suit disintegrating. He channeled his aether to keep his art from collapsing.

If his cultivation had not increased to the Intermediate Lord Stage and his darkness affinity was not S-rank, he wouldn’t have been able to maintain his arcane art. His perseverance allowed the shadow suit to remain, albeit it had thinned significantly.

Yuka lunged at him when he was still being petrified. He couldn’t dodge. Yuka’s lower body tentacles slammed into him and sent him crashing into the floor.

Without pausing, Yuka delivered her follow-up assault. A torrent of violent winds poured out of the giant mouth in Yuka’s abdomen. These winds transformed into a tornado that converged on Amon. The winds were as if sharp blades that shredded everything they touched. The winds ground at Amon, intent on turning him into minced meat.
