Rise Of The Hoarder-Chapter 315 Intruders
Among the Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse, the Pale Rider was an entity known as Death.
He was a powerful Demon, capable of being among one of the heralds of Armageddon. Since Death was powerful, it only made sense for his minions to live up to that expectation as well.
Death was undying.
He was the personification of death, so the concept didn’t apply to him. As a result, he was immortal. He had both absolute power and the ability to wield it forever!
Niggaruth admired that. He craved it. He coveted it.
He looked at Death like a follower would revere their god. All he desired was a place by his side. To forever worship and bask in the glory of Death forever!
“Come on! Come on!” The pale-faced, horned vampire looked at the vial in front of him.
He licked his lips as the contents within it swirled.
‘I have come this far! I won’t fail now! While my Golem holds them off, this will be finished!’
Niggaruth was certain that the pesky pests who had invaded his territory would fall for the large gate he placed ahead.
Once they entered, they would be confronted by a Golem that Niggaruth spent a great deal of time making. It was a trump card, but all objects had their uses. The old vampire didn’t care if it perished as long as it bought enough time for him to be immortalized.
‘Just a bit more time… just a little bit more…’
>BOOOOOOMMMM!!!<
The Demon’s eyes widened as he heard a devastating sound come from behind him.
The small door that led to his haven had been blown away, and the metallic object screeched on the floor as it slid off. The one who had forcefully kicked the extremely sturdy door was someone Niggaruth didn’t recognize—but had a fair understanding of.
The ancient vampire was surprised, to say the least.
“Why… why didn’t he go for the large gate?!” Niggaruth gritted his wretched teeth.
His bloodshot eyes glared at the intruder.
“I knew it. I was right, after all.” The human spoke casualty.
Behind him were a bunch of other people who looked like nobodies. They were shielded by a pink force field.
The Demon grated his teeth, even more, expressing pure rage.
‘It’s not ready yet! Not yet!’ He growled as those thoughts rang in his head. 𝘧𝚛𝗲𝘦𝚠𝙚𝙗𝙣o𝙫𝗲𝚕.𝐜o𝓂
“Hey, you’re the boss monster, right?” The human addressed him.
This impudence only served as fuel to the elite monster’s fury. How could a puny human address him in such a manner?
He was Niggaruth!
While he had fallen from his previous estate, he was still a Grade 4 Demon, belonging to the upper echelon of Undead. The highest Grade of Undead beings was Grade 6, and that only belonged to…
-.??m “Who are you? How dare you enter my domain?” The vampire asked with disdain clearly meted out in his tone.
“Oh, it can speak! Nice!” Was the response he got.
‘This human… he dares insult me?!’
Niggaruth knew the place of humans in the pecking order. The reason he and his master had manifested in this realm was to destroy them. Unfortunately, beings of immense power couldn’t cross over yet since the Dimensional Corridor wasn’t wide enough.
Even he couldn’t be manifested properly in the real world and was held in the Tower, a temporary space between both the world of demons and humans.
Humans were weak! Yet such a weakling dared to address him in such a manner.
“Your impudence knows no bounds. KNEEL!”
With his <Words Of Power>, a Skill only Elite Vampires could use, he could forcefully control his target. Humans were weak-willed beings. The ancient vampire knew this one would be no exception.
“Hm? Did you use something like <Rule>? Or was it <Command>? Don’t tell me you have an upgraded version?” The human’s voice rang out.
“W—what?!” Niggaruth exclaimed in surprise.
The human before him had resisted his control! How was that possible?
Unlike humans, Demons couldn’t see the Levels of the Gifteds. It was one of the handicaps given, so the humans had a fair advantage. The Demons didn’t care, though. Their goal remained the extermination of the whole race.
Not just humans, but everything else!
It didn’t matter the Level they had… humans were still nothing but prey to them. Yet… yet…!!!
For the first time, Niggaruth was curious about just how powerful his enemy was!
While he still couldn’t check his Level, Demons had a way of measuring the strength of their foes. For him, it dwelled in his Skill <Appraisal>.
Once Niggaruth activated it, he still didn’t see anything. The human being in front of him displayed nothing!
That only meant one thing…
‘HE’S DANGEROUS!’
… The Gifted before him was either too high-leveled, had a Skill that blocked it, or his equipment had a jamming effect. Regardless of which one it was, it didn’t change the fact that the puny human in front of him had resisted not one, but two of his abilities.
Once he realized this, the Vampire broke into a cold sweat.
“W—why have you come here?” He spoke in a less haughty tone.
The human appeared a little surprised by his words, and then seemed to be contemplating something.
‘The ones behind him… are they equally monstrous too?’
By using his <Appraisal> Skill on them, Niggaruth was relieved to find out that they were nothing but fleas. It seemed the only one he needed to be wary of was the one who was speaking with him.
‘Hold on… how does he understand Demon tongue? How can he communicate with me? This is…!!!’ The Vampire was worried and more confused now.
“What have you done to the town? Is it related to your experiment here?” The Gifted asked, looking around the room.
‘Oh? So, he’s here to save the town. I—in that case…’
“Yes. But do not fret. In an hour or so, I will be done. Once I have completed my research, I will leave this settlement in peace.”
He chose the peaceful approach.
Once he left the town, there would be nothing else this human would want from him.
“Hm? What experiment? The Quest didn’t mention this… but, hold on…” The human mumbled to himself.
“Your research… does it have to do with Life? Like the restoration of the dead and immortality. That sort of thing…?”
Niggaruth’s eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.
‘H—how does he know?!’
