Rise Of The Infinite Sovereign-Chapter 354: Ancestor
Chapter 354: Ancestor
Beaming into the clouds, Ezra’s started radiating energies of gold, black and blue. Blowing away the clouds as his body began to itch all over.
"What’s this now?!" Ezra grunts.
The itch came from within, so while he felt uncomfortable all over, scratching his skin wasn’t helping at all.
[It’s starting! Concentrate and go higher!]
Forcefully withholding his urge to scratch the itch, Ezra went even higher, breaking into the planet’s stratosphere before abruptly breaching to a halt.
He came to a halt not by his own will, the rampaging artifact forced his hand.
The energies spread from his body like bolts of lightning, blanketing him.
Streaks of gold energy latch onto the space ring on Ezra’s middle finger.
Before he could process what to do, the space ring was cleanly split in half, each piece held onto by a strand of dimensional essence.
Alarmed, he tries to snatch it but his hands miss and the ring splits into even smaller shards. A golden strand holding onto each one.
In the same motion, the pieces are pulled into Ezra’s body, cutting into his neck with very little resistance.
With his outstanding healing factor, Ezra’s neck healed almost instantaneously.
Touching and rubbing his neck, Ezra’s heart quickens as dread blankets his mind.
"Zydrax, what just happened?!"
[...I don’t know]
"What do you mean you don’t know?!"
His mother was in the space ring! Alongside Severus and Fressia!
The golden threads pulled the shards into the artifact.
On cue, the snaking energies converged at a point before explosively expanding into an energy wave.
*Bom!
As it receded, Ezra’s veins came onto the surface of his skin all over his body.
Blood seeped from his eyes and hands as his internals realigned.
A very painful procedure as you might’ve imagined.
At the same time, the mana flowing through his veins began to transmute.
Pulled from the veins, his mana embedded itself into an invisible and impossibly thin film connected to every part of Ezra’s body.
It was stationary yet its edges fluttered ever so slightly.
"Ohhh!"
The absorption commissioned Ezra with a whole different type of pain and it hit a whole different nerve.
Ezra felt extremely weak, empty even as his mana shifted to a new stage.
As mana filled the invisible film, it took on its glimmering cerulean colour.
Three minutes later, all of his mana was sucked in.
On point, the glimmering film let off a reverberation which exits Ezra’s body as a wave of mana.
The wave of mana straightened Ezra’s gait as the pains in his body were wiped off.
"Ugh!" He groaned. Feeling a new wave of power bubbling from within as his body settled.
The veins popping on the surface of his skin receded as did the whiteness in his eyes.
His crimson glare resurfaced a shade darker and...that was it.
Ezra touched his body.
He hadn’t grown taller, nor bigger, his nails, hair and eyelids...hadn’t changed, thankfully, and his clothes still fit.
Clenching his fists, Ezra acclimatized himself to his new level of power.
It was a surreal experience, so surreal, Ezra temporarily forgot about the crisis he was in.
[Congratulations on reaching the Transcendent ra-
Zydrax’s words were cut short as a sudden force pulled him over.
"What’s this?" Zydrax was perturbed.
Unable to stop, Zydrax was pulled into the artifact he’d painstakingly created within seconds.
"Hmm? Zydrax?"
Ezra was unnerved.
The cube, still letting off sparks of Black, Blue and Gold, started spinning.
"Hmm?"
Ezra looked towards his heart, he could feel the a surging force.
Before he could process what it was, something blasts him away.
Rolling in the sky, Ezra darts his head to every corner, but fails to find the attacker.
’Zydrax, I could use the help right about now’
No response.
*Bom!
Again, something hit him upwards higher.
Holding his focus this time, Ezra makes out the attacker.
No one.
A barrier simply formed and smashed against him, not giving him time to coordinate his thoughts.
The third push did the trick.
Rolling like a wheel, Ezra flew right out of Orion.
Arriving in space, his speed crawls to a halt, alerting him to his new environment.
Taking his hands off his face, Ezra blinks multiple times to shake off the effect of rolling so much, before taking a closer look at his immediate environment.
Drifting, Ezra found it hard to coordinate himself, but after continuous tries, he got himself standing upright within just five minutes.
Facing the planet, he seeks to speak, but something else snatches his attention.
Previously disoriented, the cube’s surge went unnoticed.
But the sudden increase couldn’t go unnoticed.
Touching his heart, Ezra tries to repress the surge, but to no avail.
"Tch. What now?"
Too many things happening at once had thrown him off.
But it seemed today was determined to get worse, and it was all because of this artifact in his heart.
It had absorbed the space ring where his mother lay, and now something had happened to Zydrax.
’Should I just rip it out?!’
In the heat of annoyance, Ezra wagered whether to simply tear it out of his chest.
That would be plain suicide, so he didn’t.
Grunting as he tries to stop the cube’s surge using mana, something happens.
The cube starts spewing dimensional essence.
The dimensional essence then wraps around the cube, cocooning it in gold luster.
Mind you, the cube’s still spinning.
Upon completely wrapping it, the dimensional essence flattens on the cube’s surface, turning it from black to gold.
The cube ceases its spinning right after.
It releases a wave of dimensional essence and in the same vein, disassembles.
A strand of dimensional essence holds onto each piece, unaffected by the blood in Ezra’s heart.
As small as any random rock, it didn’t disturb his heart’s functions at all.
The dimensional essence holds the fragmented cube in place, with the coalescing energies of mana and negative mana right at its center.
In a twist, the cube’s fragments align and plunge into the same thin film that sucked in his mana.
Its colour instantly changes from glimmering blue to a shimmering gold.
It lets off a sequence as Ezra’s glowed gold.
Right after, beams of gold light exit his eyes and mouth.
As the gold light recedes, Ezra groans.
[Ugh!]
As did another individual.
"Zydrax, why didn’t you reply earlier?"
[Because I couldn’t. I was-hmm?]
"Zydrax?"
[Haha]
All of a sudden, Zydrax burst into laughter.
[Hahaha! Yes! It works!]
"What works?
[My creation! It works. Hahaha!]
"Calm down and speak clearly. What works?"
[...It would be better for me to simply show you]
Runic symbols of black, blue and gold manifest in front of Ezra, obstructing his sight.
"Am I supposed to read this?"
[I forgot. Give me a minute]

Stepping into a hall tiled in all black, a palpable presence forces him to halt.
"Khasavar"
With a voice deep and clear, we make out a figure sitting in a lotus position, his back turned to Khasavar.
"Why have you barged in unannounced?"
"Apologies Ancestor" Khasavar dropped to his knees. "But I believed it was the most appropriate measure to take"
He raises his head. "I have found an uncharted galaxy"
The heavy presence instantly dissipates. "Speak on"
"During a cultivation session, I coincidentally locked onto coordinates of a planet outside our galaxy"
"I found that this galaxy lies within the borders of our cluster, or lay just fringes from its borders"
"I see" he says. "Is there nothing else?"
"I explored the sought to gain a foothold, but failed"
There was a slight pause. "Tell me more"
Khasavar then explained all that happened, leaving out a section of details.
"Interesting" the ancestor gets on his feet, turning towards Khasavar. "Very intriguing"
Shirtless, his black scales glimmered as did his teeth. He was grinning.
Placing his arm on Khasavar’s shoulder.
"If all you said is true, you might’ve just made a discovery the likes of untold proportions"
In quick fashion, the Ancestor puts on clothes,
"Tell me, how much do you know about galaxies?"
"Not much, Ancestor"
"A galaxy is a compilation of star zones or sometimes, solar systems. Every solar system is a star zone, but not every star zone is a solar system"
"Galaxies are living entities, and like other living entities, they have a finite lifespan" he paused, watching Khasavar’s reaction.
"But they don’t ’die’ like we do. At the end of their lives, they undergo a great reset, creating a singularity that devours all the planetary bodies within and for a time, it ceases all function"
"In that state, it looks like any part of the void. Then, as it died, it would be reborn, restarting the clock for the next reset, but there’s a clause"
"But. A galaxy’s lifespan is extended dependent upon the rank of inhabitants"
"Now" he voice went notch deeper. "If really, you traced a faint signal and it wasn’t detected or repelled, I infer that those living there are of very low ranks, and I only know of two cases in which this fits"
"The galaxy has neared its reset and the nascents within have fled elsewhere, OR the galaxy just initiated a rebirth not long ago and is extremely young, less than fifteen thousand years old"
"Either way" he taps Khasavar’s shoulder in excitement. "You might’ve just become my favourite descendant"
"How many others know of this?" the Ancestor inquired.
"Beyond you, only the few that work with me"
The Ancestor nodded. "Give me the coordinates, we head out immediately. Maintain utmost discretion"
Giddy, Khasavar nodded. "Yes, Ancestor"
The Ancestor rounds up the remaining workers and threatens them to make sure their lips remain sealed.
Having gathered all the recorded data from Khasavar’s failed attack, he gets on a ship with Khasavar and heads toward a certain planet at hyperspeed.
