Rise Of The Infinite Sovereign-Chapter 402: Frenzied Onslaught
Chapter 402: Frenzied Onslaught
Watching as the dragon group began their return to their original location, Ezra prepared his finishing move.
He had placed gatemarks at the other buildings he stole treasures from so he would know if someone else got caught in the range of the frenzied puppets.
Therefore, using , in conjunction with , he appears behind the frenzied puppets.
He then opens another portal in front of the puppet, this one connected to one of the gatemark he left in front of the buildings the dragon group had just cleared, and pushes it inside the portal to appear in the vicinity of those buildings.
Aiming to overwhelm and end them in one go, Ezra only split the puppets amongst two buildings to ready a concentrated attack.
To not spook them into fleeing out of the range of the gatemarked buildings, Ezra only released one puppet, and placed it at the building held at the center of their returning route.
Whilst waiting for the dragon group to walk back to that center building, Ezra gathered the remaining frenzied puppets at one building.
Gathered together, they numbered twenty-two, including the puppet he already deployed, twenty-three.
Ezra nodded, with this many, the dragon group was sure to be annihilated.
He was also surprised to learn that a single seal could hold so many puppets.
He heads back into his universe and deactivates his concealment, drifting in space while he waits for the dragon group to reach the center building and engage the puppet stationed there.

Meanwhile, as they marched out of the range of buildings, the dragon group leader was in deep contemplation.
’Is there someone behind this? Or are those puppets malfunctioning?’
He didn’t know how to explain it except that his intuition was pointing out that someone was involved in these attacks...but logically that didn’t make any sense!
From what he knew, the puppets only entered their rage mode when someone stole pills without defeating them first, and then proceeded to chase the person to the death.
Yet these puppets were frenzied, but stayed with the range of the buildings nonetheless.
So it made no sense that someone stole the pills since the puppets should have been chased down.
So what exactly was going on?
This question had Lipeter racking his brain for several minutes, but all he ended up with was a sigh.
This was an unexplainable phenomenon.
Not to mention that Dekan’s disappearance at the start of all this was even more suspicious.
’Could it be that there’s someone with the power to control the puppets?’
But Lipeter shook his head.
That was just far too unlikely. After all, a transcendent being able to control puppets created by constellations? Even one imagination ought to be limited sometimes.
That was just far too unrealistic.
’So then, it’s a malfunction?’ Lipeter thought.
A malfunction was indeed the most plausible and the most realistic explanation.
’Such rotten luck’
Believing that it was a malfunction of the puppets themselves, Lipeter could only curse his luck.
’I have to tell the elders about this when I get back’
Of the ten dragons that lay in his group, only seven remained. This was a blow to his record regardless of whatever explanation he gave.
At the thought, something else came to his mind.
’Right, there was that guy’
The one Avaken had told him to prioritize killing if given the chance.
But...
’I haven’t seen him once since we arrived inside’
Yet, something bugged at Lipeter.
’Come to think of it...’
Avaken mentioned he had good spatial abilities, and beyond that, the ability to expertly hide his presence so much so that even Nascent’s couldn’t find him.
Furthermore, Dekan, whom he had sent to test Ezra, was the first to suddenly disappear.
Was there a connection to all this?
’Could this be his doing?’ Lipeter suddenly wondered.
But his pride as a black dragon would not allow for such a conclusion.
For the black dragon group to be put in such a miserable state by a random rank four transcendent, was such a thing even possible?
Lipeter subconsciously denied that possibility.
’A rank four transcendent...I must be going paranoid’
Chuckling at the thought, Lipeter wiped away the option from his mind and marched forward with the body of a dead comrade resting in his hands.
In any case, that mission was automatically a failure as well since he certainly had no intention of leaving his teammates behind to start scouring the secret realm looking for a rank four Transcendent, regardless of whose orders it was.
They marched forward solemnly, their steps heavy as each member tried to understand how things had taken such a turn.
After thirty minutes, they arrived at the buildings they had started on.
Only to find a puppet, one looking frenzied like that which they’d destroyed prior.
The entire dragon group froze up.
"I’m sure we already destroyed the puppet stationed there..."
Lipeter mutters, his voice trailing off as he turns his gaze to the nearest building beside it.
Indeed, in front of that building lay the body of a destroyed puppet.
So Lipeter was even more perplexed.
"Am I mistaken?"
Yet, it’s seemed none of his guesses would not change the reality in front of him.
’It seems the malfunction is even worse than I thought’ he conjectured that it was the work of the secret realm that created the puppets, because his memories were certainly not tampered with.
Annoying as the recurring appearance of this puppet, Lipeter places the corpse of his comrades on the ground, gently.
He then removes the sword and shield held on his back.
With the rest of the dragon squad taking their positions, he nods, eager to bash this puppet to pieces.
The injured dragon had also healed considerably and joined in as well, eager to destroy the dragon as remuneration for their fallen comrade.
Set and ready, they charged as one, giving short battle cries as they entered its ten meter range and raced in further.
The puppet sprang into action, eager to meet them, but within ten feet, a massive energy blast sent it stumbling back until it was but two meters from the buildings, to which the dragon group converged upon it, blazing with fury as they began to tear it apart.
Like the puppet, they were all in a frenzy.
Seeing this, Ezra clapped.
"It’s time"
Concealing himself, Ezra popped right beside the swarm of frenzied puppets and without further ado, opened a spatial door under their feet, letting them fall straight in like a sinkhole.
Connected to the gatemark placed where black dragon group was currently fighti-no, besieging the puppet, a spatial door opened behind them.
Just as Lipeter ripped off the puppet’s head, he felt the spatial vibrations, as did the rest of the dragon group members a second later.
They turned their heads just in time and looked back just in time to see the puppets come out of the portal, feet first.
As though they were falling down a slide, they came feet first, laying horizontally as their momentum died, leaving them to fall with their backs to the ground as others fell on them.
The black dragon’s brain halted as they tried to process the situation, hit with multiple emotions at once.
The sudden appearance of so many puppets would do that to a person.
Before Lipeter could get himself and give any order, one of the black dragons made a run for it.
"I’m sorry captain! I can’t die here!" he shouted as he jumped over the pile of puppets.
With acute instinct, this dragon instantly assessed the chance of survival and came to the conclusion that this was his last chance to flee.
The moment the puppets arranged themselves, they were all sure to die!
Alas, while his calculations were correct, reality refused to wield to his outcome.
The act of flying or leaping high in the sky was restricted such that you couldn’t jump over the buildings.
So his distance from the pile of puppets wasn’t much.
Making it so that the puppet at the top of the pile could inflict an attack.
In the next moment, that’s exactly what happened.
The puppet at the top took note of his figure and went into action, piercing through his foot with its sword arm.
"Acck!"
Attacked mid jump, the dragon cried out as he hit the ground, stumbling with blood spurting out of his leg.
Struggling to stand, four puppets besieged him.
Attacking him without care, they slashed and stabbed.
On the other hand, the rest of the puppets had also latched onto the rest of the dragon group and rushed towards them.
"Group up"
In the face of despair, Lipeter still gave order calmly, proving his competence.
It would have normally been better for them to split up and escape the pursuit of their enemies, but with the never relenting nature, that would only ensure their deaths.
The puppets besieged them just as they formed their formation.
"Fight!"
Raising morale, Lipeter shouted, coming out with a flashy first attack that pushed the charging hoard backwards.
This also gave the other members a few more seconds to properly ready themselves.
Relentless as stated, the puppets completely besieged the group two seconds after.
Eighteen frenzied puppets surrounded them on all sides. Stabbing, slashing and sometimes, bashing.
In the moment, Lipeter saw that portal, and confirmed within himself that the secret realm was indeed misbehaving.
How he saw it, this must be how the secret realm replenished the fallen puppets.
So Lipeter only blamed himself for such luck once more, the fact that Ezra was said to have spatial abilities did not come to his mind at all.
Mustering all his power, Lipeter exuded a black aura.
He was intent on not dying today.
Surrounded, he decisively gives up on defence and throws his shield at a puppet to send it flying. freewebnσvel.cøm
Infusing more energy into his sword, he begins rampaging, giving the puppets serious damage as his large swings saw their limb torn off and their bodies cut in half.
"You want to come at me?!" he hailed. "Then come at me!"
Too bad his fighting spirit could not aid the others, as their situation was not so optimistic.
As rank fives, they could go one on one with a frenzied puppet and win, but that was their limit.
Beyond that, as per their current situation, they could only get cut and stabbed mercilessly as they tried to defend themselves from the onslaught.
Despite their valiant efforts, the mages were the first to fall, their bodies strewn with deep cuts and stab wounds all over.
The second mage had her skull crushed in, leaving brain .
From then on, a gap was created and as a result, the others fell in succession, destroying a number of puppets as they did.
As by the time only Lipeter remained standing, there were only five puppets left.
Struggling as he did, he dispatched three of the five and had torn off a limb of the fourth.
But not without cost.
He now only had one eye left functioning, the other had a sword mark running through it.
His left arm had been used to defend multiple attacks and was now almost mutilated beyond repair, it lay dangling, completely numb.
His clean body was now littered with light cut marks and stab wounds all over, his legs were even more so, with one of them sporting a gaping hole.
All in all, he was in truly terrible condition, or shall I say a very pathetic state?
Nevertheless, this dragon refused to die, swatting away the attacks of the last two puppets and stepping back if needed.
Even while gasping for breath spitting blood, this dragon’s gaze held its ferocity as he sought to vanquish the foes before him.
How he wished he could use the treasure Avaken gave him to end the situation, but its function was not in the regard of dealing attacks.
Just as he readied himself to end it all...
A voice resounds, booming yet calm.
"Are you the one Avaken sent after me?"
Those words had Lipeter freeze as his eyes widened.
"So it was YOU!" he bellowed in fury as it all came to him.
The one possibility he denied, that was truly the case?!
Had he really been made into this pathetic state by a rank four transcendent?!
Looking around for the speaker, he turns his head rapidly in all directions, his rage palpable.
"Show yourself!" he bellows.
"I would keep my eyes in front of me if I were you"
As the last of those words sank in, Lipeter’s awareness came to him like lightning.
But as he turned to face the puppets he was battling...
*Cha!*
*Chuk!*
A sword hand pierced his neck, while another pierced his lungs.
"Ah....
Making his last exclamation, the puppet pushed its arm in further, breaking Lipeter’s head off his neck, before tearing to the side as it removed its sword hand.
Thus leaving Lipeter’s head to dangle upside down with only skin holding it up while the flesh of his neck remained visible.
As the other puppet removed its hand inserted into Lipeter’s heart, the body fell to the floor, leaving the head to be crushed under the weight of the body.
With all the intruders dealt with, the seal turned to its normal state, which in turn reverted the state of the frenzied puppets back to normal.
Then, the two puppets suddenly disappeared.
Only for someone to appear twenty seconds later, seemingly out of thin air.
While most of the concealment was undone, Ezra retained its effect on his feet to avoid footprints.
Looking at the horrible scene in front of him, Ezra held his chin, appraising the work.
The annihilation of the black dragon group composed of rank fives and a rank six was thus complete, and he didn’t even have to dirty his hands.
The best part of it all was getting to confirm his suspicions.
’I don’t feel much...no, am I feeling satisfaction right now?’ Ezra examined, surprised at himself.
Pushing those thoughts aside, Ezra got cleaning and swiftly sent all the corpses into his universe for later use.
Only afterwards, did Ezra relax.
With the objective achieved, it was now time to officially begin his plundering spree.
Yet...
[You can’t end things like this]
There was another problem.
[Or else you will definitely be among the top suspects]
"What?"
