Rise of the Lustful Evil Monarch (Re)-Chapter 255: Booking a Hotel
Third Person's POV
"If I had recalled them sooner, I would have used them the moment we entered this city earlier today."
He sighed before gesturing for them to follow his lead.
"They don't know your true appearance as you had concealed your face with that veil, and Velcy was too forgettable for them in her scarred state.
As for me, I made sure to conceal my face with a crafted veil of dark magic. Still, I would rather not take any risks."
With that, he pressed the thin membrane to his face.
The moment it made contact, his entire appearance shifted.
Gone was the breathtakingly handsome face that could steal the breath of both men and women alike.
Instead, in his place stood an unremarkable man with plain and unmemorable features.
His violet hair darkened into an ordinary shade of black while his piercing red eyes dulled to a clear crystal blue.
Without missing a beat, he stripped off his tattered black upper cloth and handed it to Virelle.
He then equipped himself with a simple white linen garb.
Seeing this with a shocked state, the girls could tell that his transformation was seamless.
Following his lead, the girls pressed the membranes to their faces as well.
Before Ethan now stood two unfamiliar figures.
Virelle who was once a striking beauty with crimson eyes, now appeared as a plain black-haired girl with deep blue irises.
Beside her, Velcy had transformed into a young girl who looked no older than fourteen, and her white cat features were also completely masked beneath the disguise.
The trio now bore subtle yet matching facial traits.
Ethan studied them for a moment before nodding approvingly.
With an amused grin, he declared,
"For tonight, we will be siblings."
Virelle and Velcy exchanged glances before breaking into excited smiles.
Neither of them had ever done something like this before.
The thrill of disguise and the excitement of deception, it was strangely exhilarating.
The idea that they were sneaking around under the noses of an entire city's forces and playing their own secret game sent an unexplainable rush through them.
And for the first time in a long while, both girls felt something they hadn't in years.
Absolute freedom.
They soon alighted and stepped onto the steep and treacherous slopes of the towering spires as they silently descended like shadows gliding through the midnight veil.
Not a single sound betrayed their movement and their presence was barely more than a whisper in the dark.
Ethan held his two girls in his embrace as he jumped in the dark.
The old blood slave trailed behind them in perfect silence and his presence was more felt than seen as though he were a phantom born of the night itself.
In no time, they reached the deep and shadowy alleys of the administrative district that was shrouded in stillness and secrecy.
Standing cloaked in darkness, Ethan turned slightly toward the two girls and spoke in a low voice,
"We will cross into the market district again and find an inn to stay the night.
Though we could have rested in our carriage, I think it's time for a proper bath, warm food, and a bit of well-earned relaxation after such a long and chaotic day and our whole journey as a whole.
Living in a carriage, especially for you two, must have been uncomfortable. I know Virelle in particular is dying for a proper bath."
He gave a light chuckle and the girls smiled softly in response with Virelle's eyes crinkling with visible joy at his consideration.
Then Ethan turned to the silent figure behind him. It was the old blood slave and he instructed him in a respectful voice,
"Secretly prepare the carriage near our current residence and be ready by morning.
We will depart from this city at the earliest hour. One day in this city will suffice.
I had originally planned for a longer stay, perhaps a few days, but lingering in such a hostile environment—where eyes and enemies lurk around every corner is not something I would like to risk."
The blood slave gave no verbal reply and without saying or doing anything it melted back into the shadows and vanished from sight.
Ethan took that as his silent affirmation.
With that settled, he turned back to the girls and motioned with a subtle gesture as he advanced deeper into the dark.
They followed him wordlessly and moved with the grace of seasoned prowlers of the night.

Minutes later, they stepped into the more vibrant well-lit section of the market district once more.
Their disguised appearances with plain faces and unremarkable clothing did not draw even a passing glance from the few passing people.
They blended in like water into a river and slipped through the still-busy streets unnoticed.
This area of the market district lay a fair distance from the now-wrecked Imperial Blade Hall and so the calm and serenity here remained intact.
Soft amber and golden lights illuminated the polished stone paths and gave the street a warm and inviting glow.
Scattered red-leafed trees swayed gently under the night breeze and occasional small parks added a refreshing touch to the surroundings.
Ethan was always observant of such things and was quietly impressed by the city's structure and meticulous planning.
Soon enough, the trio came upon a grand radiant building that immediately stood out.
Towering with four lavishly constructed stories, an uncommon height for the city, it shimmered with opulence.
Bathed in golden light, the sign above it proudly declared its name: The Imperial Velvet Inn.
Ethan's brows rose in mild shock and bewilderment.
This place certainly didn't look like any ordinary inn.
With such grandeur, it could have easily been mistaken for a noble's manor or a mini-palace.
Still, the word Imperial in its name told him everything he needed to know.
"So, the Ignisfel family again…" he mused inwardly.
First, they owned a weapon hall and now a lavish inn and he was sure that they were certainly not limited to this city.
