Chapter 61 - 61: Rekindled sparks and golden eyes.
Azvoid's gaze lingered on the trembling crowd, a mischievous gleam flickering in his eyes. His authority over chaos felt intoxicating, like a newfound muscle he was eager to flex. But, to his mild disappointment, not a single soul dared step forward.
"Guess that's all the excitement for today," he muttered, glancing at Kain's unconscious form and Sienna's huddled, shaken frame. The White Lotus Guild's training grounds were utterly silent, each guild member now looking at him with a blend of awe, fear, and admiration.

"Now, that was a show worth charging tickets for. You should start considering monetizing these beatdowns." Noctis's voice was thick with amusement. "What's next? Are you planning to crush the whole guild's ego in one day?"
"Please, that would be overkill," Azvoid snorted. "I'm not that cruel. Maybe."
As he turned away from the shattered training ground, a familiar voice cut through the tense air.
"Well, well. Seems you've been busy humiliating our fellow guild members. Didn't even bother to save some excitement for me?"
Azvoid's head whipped around, his expression transforming from mild amusement to genuine surprise.
Standing a few paces away was Geastrice Lola, the golden-eyed beauty whose presence never failed to catch attention. Her chestnut hair cascaded over her shoulders in gentle waves, accentuating her sharp yet delicate features. Clad in her sleek combat uniform, she looked both dangerous and dazzling, a vision of elegance with a touch of fierce determination.
"Lola?" Azvoid chuckled, scratching the back of his head. "You weren't around to see my performance, huh?"
"Oh, I saw enough." Her eyes narrowed playfully, though there was an unmistakable glint of challenge within them. "Word travels fast, especially when someone's making such a grand display of their talents."
"Can you blame me?" Azvoid shrugged, his smirk never faltering. "They practically lined up to get crushed. It'd be rude not to oblige."
Lola laughed, her voice like a melodic chime. "I swear, you're such an arrogant jerk sometimes."
"Sometimes?" Azvoid countered with a grin. "I'm slacking, then."
For a moment, they stood there, the playful exchange drawing envious stares from the onlookers. After all, Lola was considered one of the White Lotus Guild's rising stars. Her talent was no joke, and her connection to the Dean of Silvermoon Academy only made her status more impressive.
"By the way," Azvoid added, his gaze shifting to the battered Sienna and Kain. "What's the deal with your guildmates trying to make me a punching bag?"
Lola's expression shifted to something resembling guilt. "Let's just say... your reputation has been skyrocketing. You embarrassed Freya not too long ago, and despite how impressive it was, it didn't sit well with a lot of people."
Azvoid's memory stirred. Freya, a C-rank member who had challenged him with all the arrogance of a lioness only to be defeated effortlessly. Back then, he was still a Peak D-rank, but even then, she was no match. Now, standing at Peak C-rank, he couldn't help but feel pity for anyone thinking they could face him on even footing.
"So basically, I've been making enemies left and right, huh?" Azvoid said with mock sadness.
"Not enemies, exactly," Lola corrected. "But you've definitely stirred the pot. And with the Clash of Guilds only a week away, everyone's desperate to prove themselves."
Azvoid raised an eyebrow. "You're saying they see me as a benchmark to surpass?"
"Well, when you keep knocking down C-ranks like they're nothing, you tend to draw attention."
"Can't argue with that," Azvoid chuckled.
"Still, you should be careful. Your strength is impressive, but... it's also a threat to some. There are those who will do anything to drag you down before the tournament." Lola's tone grew serious, concern evident in her eyes.
Azvoid's expression softened slightly. "I appreciate the warning, but you should know by now I'm not one to back down from a challenge. If they want to come at me, they're more than welcome to try."
"Of course you'd say that." Lola sighed, her gaze lingering on him. "Just don't get yourself killed being cocky. It'd be a shame to lose someone so... interesting."
Azvoid laughed, genuinely amused. "I'll take that as a compliment. Though, if you're worried about me, feel free to watch my back."
"I'll think about it." Lola shot him a smirk before turning to leave. But as she walked away, she paused, her golden eyes flicking back to him. "Oh, and Azvoid?"
"Yeah?"
"Try not to annihilate anyone before the tournament, okay? Some of us still want a good fight."
With that, she strode away, leaving Azvoid alone with the murmuring crowd.
"You know, she's got a point," Noctis mused. "You're scaring off potential opponents before the main event. I thought you were smarter than that."
"It's called advertising, Noctis," Azvoid replied, his grin sharp. "Let them know what they're up against. And if they still want to challenge me, it just means I get to have some fun before the tournament."
"Ah, nothing like arrogance paired with confidence. Quite the deadly combination. Still, your control over chaos is growing rapidly. But you must push it even further."
Azvoid's smile faltered. "I know. I can feel it. The power... it's wild, raw, and every time I use it, it feels like I'm one step closer to breaking something I can't fix."
"Good. That's exactly the edge you need. Control over chaos, not suppression of it."
"Wise words from a dragon with a superiority complex."
"And proud of it. Now, shall we continue causing trouble?"
"Oh, definitely. Trouble's kind of my specialty."
Azvoid glanced around, half-expecting another cocky fool to challenge him. But, predictably, everyone else wisely chose to keep their distance.
"Guess the show's over for today."
