Rise of the Primordial Dragon beast tamer-Chapter 60: The inferior challenger
Chapter 60 - The inferior challenger
The air was thick with tension, a silent storm brewing as the mysterious young woman's challenging gaze locked onto Azvoid. Her uniform bore the emblem of the Crimson Talon Guild, one of the White Lotus Guild's oldest rivals.
Her cold eyes held not a trace of warmth, only scornful disdain.
"What's the matter?" she sneered. "Lost your voice already, 'Ace'?"
Azvoid's smirk remained unbothered, eyes gleaming with intrigue rather than annoyance. "You know, if I had a dollar for every arrogant person that's challenged me, I'd probably have enough to buy your entire guild."
A few stifled chuckles erupted from the crowd, but the woman's expression remained unflinching.
"Laugh all you want. I'm here to make you understand the difference between true power and the pathetic parlor tricks you displayed against that brute." Her gaze briefly flicked to Kain, who was still struggling to get to his feet, fury smoldering in his eyes.
"Let me guess, you're here to 'teach me a lesson' or something? The last guy who tried that barely managed to limp away. You sure you're up for it?" Azvoid drawled, stretching his arms like he'd just woken from a nap.
She didn't dignify his taunts with a response. Instead, she stepped into the arena, the shimmering barrier reforming to contain their duel.
"Name's Sienna," she finally said, her tone dripping with arrogance. "And I won't be holding back."
Azvoid's grin widened. "Sienna, huh? Alright then. Let's see if you're any good, or if you're just here to embarrass yourself."
"Another challenger already?" Noctis's voice oozed amusement from within Azvoid's mental space. "They're just lining up to get crushed, aren't they?"
"Apparently, getting beaten senseless is the new trend," Azvoid responded inwardly, chuckling. "You ready to see me flex some more?"
"Always. And if you're feeling generous, why not sprinkle a little chaos into the mix? Let them see what true power looks like."
Azvoid's eyes glinted with excitement. "Now you're talking."
"Are you ready or not?" Sienna snapped, growing impatient. She flared her aura, and the air around her grew heavy with heat. Flames swirled around her hands, their intensity burning bright enough to melt stone.
"Fire Manipulator, huh?" Azvoid mused aloud. "Neat trick, but I'm guessing that's all you've got."
"Bold words for a man about to be turned to ash," Sienna hissed, her hands blazing with fiery brilliance. Without further warning, she lunged forward, launching torrents of fire with ruthless precision.

Columns of flame tore through the air, aiming to engulf Azvoid in a scorching inferno. The crowd gasped, many of them already assuming the duel was over.
But Azvoid remained still. His gaze calm. His aura almost lazy.
The flames surged toward him, roaring with destructive intent — only to be swallowed by an unseen force the instant they touched his skin. The fire simply... vanished.
"What?!" Sienna's eyes widened in disbelief. "How—"
Azvoid's laughter was like shattered glass grinding against metal. "You seriously thought that was enough to touch me?"
"What the hell did you do?"
Azvoid grinned. "Just played with the natural order a bit. Authority over Chaos, you see."
For a brief moment, Sienna's expression twisted with confusion, but she quickly snapped herself out of it. "Enough of your cheap tricks!"
She charged forward, her fists now cloaked in blazing heat. Each strike aimed for vital spots, her attacks clearly honed by years of experience. But Azvoid didn't bother to dodge.
Instead, he casually raised his hand, fingers curling in a gesture of dismissal. A wave of Authority over Chaos swept outward, warping reality with such ferocity that Sienna's attack was shredded before it could even touch him.
The air itself trembled, a low rumble spreading across the training grounds.
"What... what are you?" Sienna's voice quivered, a hint of desperation creeping in.
Azvoid stepped forward, his smirk evolving into a predatory grin. "I'm just the guy who's about to crush your little fire tricks. But hey, feel free to keep swinging. This is pretty entertaining."
The crowd was deathly silent. Not even a whisper dared to break the suffocating tension.
"That's it. Show her how insignificant her power really is," Noctis chortled with savage delight. "And while you're at it, why not demonstrate your Space Vector Master as well? Maybe give her a tour of real power."
Azvoid's eyes gleamed. "I like the sound of that."
The space around him distorted, the very fabric of reality bending to his will. In the blink of an eye, Azvoid vanished, reappearing behind Sienna before she even realized he was gone.
"You're too slow." His voice was a whisper in her ear.
Sienna yelped, her body spinning around to unleash another torrent of fire, but the attack hit nothing but air. Azvoid's form was already shifting, flickering between points like a mirage.
He toyed with her, appearing and vanishing at will, his mastery over Space Vector Master leaving her utterly helpless.
"I thought you weren't holding back?" Azvoid taunted, his voice echoing from every direction. "Or was that just another empty boast?"
Sienna's breathing grew labored, her aura flickering as panic clawed at her mind. "Shut up! You're nothing but—"
Her words were cut off as Azvoid's hand shot forward, fingers crackling with raw chaos. The air itself seemed to shudder as his Authority over Chaos pressed against her chest.
"Congratulations," Azvoid said with a twisted smile. "You've just proven how insignificant you really are."
He released the energy, a brutal, concussive blast that sent Sienna crashing into the barrier, her body slumping to the ground in a broken, gasping heap.
The training grounds were silent. No one dared to breathe.
Azvoid glanced around, his gaze daring anyone else to step forward. "Anyone else want to try?"
The stunned silence was all the answer he needed.
"Well done, Azvoid. You're starting to grasp the true nature of chaos," Noctis purred with approval. "And this is only the beginning."
Azvoid's grin stretched wider. "Yeah... Only the beginning."
