Rivers of the Night-Chapter 839: Last Chance
CapΓtulo 839: Last Chance
βWhat?β Theron asked with his same patented gentle smile. βIs there a problem?β π§πππππ«π·π€πΏππ‘.ππ€πΆ
βThe General isnβt free to guide people. She has very important matters to attend to every day,β Daisy said coldly.
βIs that so?β Theron blinked. βThatβs a shame.β
Daisy was about to speak again, Theronβs nonchalance really getting under her skin. But a raise of Ameridiaβs hand made her stop in her tracks.
βWhy are you asking this?β Ameridia asked calmly.
Theron blinked again as though he didnβt understand the question. βWhy wouldnβt I want to be taught by you?β
Ameridiaβs eyes narrowed.
Theron asking her such a thing didnβt make any sense. He was someone who had gotten the upper hand on Viper. Granted, Viper wasnβt using her own abilities and was instead mimicking her, but she was still a Transcendent.
Why would a King with so much power ask for such a thing?
For a long while, the room sat in silence, but while the Timeless Fairies outside of Messo began to feel uncomfortable, Theronβs smile was just the same and Ameridia looked as though she could sit there forever.
βHow old are you?β
This time, it was Theron who was a bit caught off by the question. His head tilted a bit and then he laughed.
βIβm seventeen years old.β
βBULLSHIT.β Daisy slammed a palm into the desk, her breath heaving.
There was definitely something wrong with what was going on right now. Theron was too powerful for his age by a margin so wide it was unfathomable.
To say there had never been a single even 30-year-old as powerful as Theron wasnβt even an understatement. In fact, it wasnβt enough of an exaggeration.
Daisy was convinced there was something wrong with Theronβs origins, or maybe he had to be part of some special Race that their methods couldnβt properly document and contend with.
She had heard of some Races that had exceptionally long lives. Maybe their senses were detecting a long lifespan as youth when they shouldnβt have.
However, Theronβs smile didnβt fade at all. He didnβt even flinch at the boom of the palm despite the wind that kicked up and the sonic waves whipping out in all directions.
βDo you understand what you are saying?β Ameridia said slowly.
βIβm not sure what you mean.β
βTo reach the King Realm by 100 years of age is the line of an absolute genius. Not a talent, not a decent genius. An absolute genius. Even one with a Voidwrought Resonance is not guaranteed to reach this level by the age of 100βthe highest Resonance there is.β
βAh, interesting.β Theron nodded as though he hadnβt already guessed this from spectating alone. βSpeaking of which, Iβm curious. This should be the pinnacle of humanity, no? So where are all the Voidwroughts? Even youβre just an Elder Titan. Donβt tell me humanity doesnβt have Voidwroughts?β
Theron had been sort of anticipating seeing his first Voidwroughts. But it was⦠odd.
Even in the Demon Corps, the Prince-level talents were just Titans. That seemed to mean that only Kings would be Elder Titans and the Emperors would be Voidwroughts.
He had been expecting to meet such talents.
Instead, though, Ameridia was the best of the very best, and as far as Theron could tell, she wasnβt even close to Voidwrought Resonance.
At first, Theron thought that this might be a bridge she crossed by virtue of her Space Mancy. Meaning, she could get away with her talent being weaker because her Mancy Path was so powerful overall that it didnβt matter that it was a tier lower in Resonance.
But Theron hadnβt sensed any Voidwroughts in the encampment.
The closest to Voidwrought amongst the Timeless Fairies was Messo, and Theron was about 10% sure that she just might be a Voidwrought herself. But the better-than-90% odds seemed to say that she was actually just very close and not quite there yet.
This left Theron⦠confused.
Could there not be any Voidwroughts in existence? That was odd.
But then Ameridia casually mentioned them just now, and that prickled something else at the back of Theronβs mind.
Why did this universe only have Humans?
Theron had thought that the Demon Corps would have been made up of Demons, but surprisingly, they were all just Humans that had mutated their bodies.
It was all so odd.
Honestly, at first, Theron hadnβt really thought about why he needed to care that there werenβt other Races. The Races he thought should exist all came from fictional books. There was no reason that they had to exist in real life.
But after he formed his Profound Truth⦠Theron felt a certain resonance with the world that just felt⦠like it was missing something.
Like something was fundamentally not there even though it should be.
Ameridiaβs eyes sharpened. When Theron spoke the word Voidwrought with such unprecedented ease, Ameridia felt something within her stir.
βAre you a Voidwrought, Theron?β
βMe?β Theron blinked. βNoβ.β
Ameridiaβs gaze dimmed for a moment.
ββI am a Perfect False Voidwrought, though. Whatever that means.β
Five pairs of eyes sharpened all at once, the aura they radiated as one suffocating the very air that hung between them.
βWell, actually, I guess itβs more accurate to say that Iβm a Perfect Dual Core False Voidwrought.β Theron smiled brightly.
Ameridiaβs pupils trembled for a moment. That was right. Theron did have a Dual Resonance.
Getting a read on Theron was incredibly difficult because his soul was so ridiculously powerful for his cultivation level. As such, even they could only ask to understand him.
And yet, even though Theron could have very well liedβ¦
They believed him.
Even Daisy believed him this time.
Only such a thing could explain how someone could be so mind-numbingly powerful.
Ameridia took a small breath.
βThere exists a Gate at the end of the universe. Some call it the Nameless Gate. Others call it the Tatsuya Gate. Yet some others call it Heavenβs Gate.
βIt is said that only those younger than 25 years old can enter. So, if you are lying about your ageβ¦
βThis is your final opportunity to back out.β
