Run Away After Flirting: Get Lost, Mr. Attorney!-Chapter 133: Making Things Difficult for Her, and There’s Still a Pair of Pants You Haven’t Paid for!
Ian Sterling answered the call, his tone cold and reserved: "What is it, Attorney Nolan?" 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
"I bought a pair of pants to compensate you. Where are you? I’ll deliver it to you now. I’m sorry about that night, I didn’t mean to spill wine on you," Summer Nolan said to him.
Listening to her, Ian raised an eyebrow. Did she think it was just about spilling wine on his pants? Was she unaware of what Elias Spencer said to him?
Since I’ve lost her, Elias shouldn’t think he can be with her either!
"Bar 857, Room 410, come on over," he said in a deep voice and hung up.
The location was quite far, and coupled with the traffic, it took Summer about an hour to get there. It was already dark, and the city was lit with thousands of colorful neon lights.
As she reached the room’s door, she glanced inside, seeing Ian with that same group of friends from last time, and there was a lady sitting beside him.
She didn’t care who was sitting next to him in the slightest. She pushed open the room door, carrying a bag as she walked in. The group of rich second generations inside saw her and started to tease:
"Hey, the lady of the house is here?"
Ian deliberately did not stop them. Having drunk quite a lot, he leaned lazily against the sofa, watching her quietly with a profound expression, like a beast lurking in the night.
"Don’t call me that, I’m just friends with Mr. Sterling, I said as much last time." Summer said seriously to them, then walked over to sit next to Ian, handing him the bag with a pout:
"I noticed you often wear this brand, here you go. Don’t be so petty, I didn’t mean to spill wine on you."
Ian smiled deeply... Should he reveal her and Elias’s affair?
If he did, it would only make things awkward for her, wouldn’t split her and Elias, right?
"You’ve come up short by one," he said in a deep tone, brushing aside the bag she handed over, realizing she wanted him to be her fallback lover.
There was no need to humbly appease her.
Short by one? Did he expect two pairs? Summer thought it ridiculous that such a trivial matter could upset a full-grown man.
"I’ll buy you another tomorrow then."
"It’s the ones you wear underneath," Ian reminded her, wondering what Elias would think if he knew she was buying him underwear.
He was intrigued.
Underneath... Isn’t that... Summer frowned, thinking giving him such an item was too intimate.
"That night, you soaked both my outer and inner pants. If you’re going to apologize, apologize earnestly, or just leave, Attorney Nolan," Ian remarked coolly, glancing at her.
"...Got it, I’ll get it for you tomorrow," she responded, thinking it was just a pair of briefs, nothing major, just an apology gift.
"To prove your sincerity, Attorney Nolan, punish yourself with three glasses," he said, picking up a new glass, filling it full of whiskey, and handing it to her.
This whiskey is over twenty degrees and poured to the brim, three glasses would surely lead to inebriation. Summer frowned at this man, feeling he suddenly seemed different.
His gaze and demeanor used to be gentle, considerate, and attentive. Now, he felt strange and a bit sinister, giving her the chills.
Was she just being paranoid?
"Is Attorney Nolan not sincere in apologizing to me? Forget it, I’ve never liked forcing anyone,"
he said in a deep voice, preparing to place the glass back on the table when Summer suddenly took the glass from his hand, drank it down, one sip after another.
Her throat burned, and the heat shot down to her stomach, as if a fire had suddenly ignited in her chest, rapidly spreading to every corner of her body.
Due to the alcohol, her tightly wound nerves unconsciously relaxed.
She hadn’t eaten dinner, and drinking such strong liquor suddenly made her feel very uncomfortable.
Ian poured her another full glass, handed it to her—and the others in the private room watched her, egging her on:
"The lady really can hold her liquor, hats off!"
"The lady, another glass!"
"The lady, another glass!"
Summer ignored the group of rich second generations, instead looking at Ian, who seemed unfamiliar to her. Before, he wouldn’t let her drink this way...
Forget it, it was her fault anyway... She gritted her teeth, took the cup, lowered her gaze, and gulped it down.
Not waiting for him to pour, she grabbed the bottle herself, filled a glass, and downed it all in one go!!
The alcohol kicked in quickly. After three large glasses of alcohol, her head felt heavy and dizzy, with a burning sensation spreading throughout her body.
"You’re not angry anymore, right?" Summer asked, gripping the edge of the sofa with both hands, trying hard not to succumb to the dizziness.
Ian looked at her, eyebrows slightly knit, but when he recalled her deceit, his heart hardened again—yet she didn’t seem like the type to be so deceitful.
Why would she get close to me on purpose if she’s with Elias? Ian couldn’t figure it out.
"Don’t forget there’s still one pair of pants you owe me," he reminded in a deep voice.
"Hmm," Summer responded, raising her wrist to check the time on her watch or phone, but her vision was too blurred to see clearly. She intended to return before Elias came home.
Not bothering to check the time anymore, she stood up and said to him, "I’m heading back."
Was she in such a hurry to avoid arousing Elias’s suspicion? Ian’s eyes darkened slightly, not wanting her to leave just yet. He pulled her back down beside him and poured another glass of alcohol, handing it to her.
"Why are you in such a rush? Come on, let’s have another drink..."
"Elias is having a baby, I need to go back and be with him." Summer didn’t take the glass, and told him with a serious tone.
Ian raised an eyebrow, his dog is going to be a dad? His dog was indeed lucky...
"A few more drinks and then you can go," he said, offering the glass to her again.
Summer frowned at him, grabbed the glass, downed the contents in one go, and suddenly covered her mouth with a hand, struggling to suppress the urge to vomit, feeling even dizzier.
Ian watched her, frowning, skewered a piece of fruit with a small fork for her, "Have something to eat, you drank too fast."
Summer couldn’t help but laugh, pushing his hand away. Wasn’t he the one who made her drink so fast? She understood now, this man only appeared gentle and considerate on the surface.
He had Sean Sterling’s blood running through his veins, he could be calculating.
The nausea was intense, she quickly stood up, and as she walked out, unable to see clearly, she bumped into a table. Ian reflexively got up to steady her, asking:
"Do you need to go to the bathroom?"
"I can go by myself," Summer withdrew her hand, endeavoring to walk normally as she headed out.
Behind her, several men wearing masks quietly followed her. They had missed their chance to capture her days ago, but tonight was their opportunity at last.
Moreover, Elias wasn’t by her side.
The group followed her, preparing to take action when a familiar male voice suddenly called out to her from behind: "Wait a moment."
